Madman has a post up on the chocolate Jesus.  What a concept… and nekkid too.  Donohue is in a lather…

[Y]es, you read that right … it’s not the mounting number of poor in the world, nor the ongoing bloodshed in the many wars and criminal occupations around the world, or people suffering in prisons under torture and deprivation … one of the “worst assaults on Christian sensibilities ever” is a big sweet suggestion of Deophagy

Where to start with these people? It’s not like you can’t buy novelty chocolates to mix in with your candied eggs and Peeps. Hell, Tom Wait’s even sang a song about a sweet melty Jesus. [slurp]

Should we try the white glove / M&Ms routine with chocolate Jeesus?  Somehow I guess not.

UPDATE, 9:37 am in San Francisco

From Hotline On Call:

Hotline After Dark: A Bad Day For Bushies

The political talk on cable last night focused on ex-DoJ CoS Kyle Sampson‘s testimony:

CNN’s Henry: “The president under siege on two fronts, with the full Senate defying him on Iraq policy while a Senate committee hears explosive testimony in this U.S. attorney flap” (“Situation Room,” 3/29).

MSNBC’s Shuster: “Even administration supporters said today that testimony by Kyle Sampson was devastating” (“Hardball,” 3/29).

PBS’ Holman: “Since the controversy broke, Gonzales has maintained that the firings were not politically motivated, but for performance-related reasons. Today, Sampson said there is no real difference between the two interpretations” (“NewsHour,” 3/29).

CNN’s Bash, on GOPers’ reax to Gonzales: “They’re simply fed up. They say that, at this point, the attorney general has a very high bar to get over in order to explain himself. They’re not pushing him over just yet. But they’re certainly not getting out there to support him, not even close” (“AC 360,” 3/29).

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), on Gonzales: “I’m not going to run him out of town on a rail based on newspaper stories or television or radio interviews. I want to see him eyeball to eyeball. I want him under oath and hear what he has to say” (“LKL,” CNN, 3/29). [EMILY GOODIN]

You know all I really think about?  How convenient for Bush(ies).  Should have happened in 2004.  Plenty to run on then, in an election year, post AG, post invasion, post NO WMD, during the time that Rumsfeld should have gone, but did not.. during the time that Kerry should have run a real campaign, but did not - think of the convention with a PROHIBITION against “being mean” to Bush, I mean, WTF?

And a bit later in NYC, merry R pranksters have hog fleshed R conventioneers parading with bandaids and tiny purple hearts crayoned on them?

BTW, not lauding Kerry nor his service.  A regressive love affair iwth a hideous war, which is what the Dems did all thru 2004, helped put a tourniquet on criticising the current horror.

The problem is they love war and they especially love the armaments

when that image of the chocolate jesus came up on raw story, I first thought it was some Iraqi we tortured by burning. such are the times we live in.

may jesus be given 40 lashes of whipped cream.

3. supervixen - 30 March 2007

what is this nonsense demanding that someone “make them stop”? It’s so childish-control-freak. It’s so… Armando.

Maybe louisianagirl IS Armando.

Strange behaviors ensue when fangirls – and fanboys – attach themselves too closely to their objects of adoration.

4. Tuston - 30 March 2007

I am whinning. When are one of my comments going to be deemed worthy of “ridicule” by the pole dancing pwogressives?

Actually I think I’m still in shock from Mitm’s “sad kermit” you tube vid.

5. supervixen - 30 March 2007

Her eyes caress the surface of the unassuming object of desire, relishing the firmness of her exposed, taut skin and the smooth, soft texture of her unstained nightgown. This moment of visual and tactile possession is one for which she has been yearning

So louisianagirl is claiming you WANT her, MCat. To sate your “voracious sexual appetite”.

It’s going to be very difficult for MSOC and Booman to criticize anyone for being sexist and misogynist as long as that screed remains up on their sites.

6. supervixen - 30 March 2007

And where have we seen the references to stains on nightgowns before….. oh yes:

I think louisianagirl writes pretty well. Her words are on the masthead here after all. Just sayin’.

15. Tuston - 30 March 2007

Punny, Mcat, very punny. “hitchCOCK”. LOL

Prose is one thing, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

How about lg’s peekhole picture of the naked woman in heels, bent backwards over a desk and being penetrated by a clothed man in an office? I’m sure it’s sooo comfortable for the “chick”. I don’t remember seeing that particlular acrobatic act in my much dog eared copy of “The Joy of Sex.”

LG, I know you’re reading this so let me offer some friendly advice; Seek Psychiatric Help. Sex is no substitute for intimacy, and you definetely have some major boundary issues. Despite what you may think of we vipers (Go VAGs!) I’m sure everyone here sincerely hopes that one day you will see that you are inherently valuable not because of your physical “feminine charms” and begin the process of removing the colonizers from your own psyche.

Lap Dancer in College? There is no shame, like james brown sang, “its a man’s world” and sometimes desperate measures are economic neccesities. But really would you want your daughter (or son) to sexually titilate strangers for loose change? I’ve heard more than one “dancer” say they’re not the ones being exploited it’s the men. This may be true to a small extent; especially for the “beta” men who lay their hard earned money down, but the Alpha men, the guys who can use money for toilet paper ’cause they got so much are definetely getting a better deal than the women. And only somebody with a blindolded and ball gagged on couldn’t see that.

Until the bright day you begin to see clearly we’ll keep bouncing you and your pole dancing compartiots’ pathetically transparent comments around the RUBBER room, but know we wish y’all well (and hope you find better shrinks and meds)

16. marisacat - 30 March 2007

and those words, which represent her earlier persona on the Blogs, will be staying.

17. missdevore - 30 March 2007

the paine–how do they know? well, there is another less discussed, shall we say, STAIN, on the Shroud of Turin.

my sil made one of her funniest unintentional jokes one year on the 4th of july–it may have been in 2003. we were discussing the Iraq war and made up a little ditty:

“onward christian soldiers

anyway, she remarked that she never did much church going when she grew up, but when she saw crucifixes: “I always thought jesus was well-hung.”

I really suggest Booman Front Page it at BMT tho.

And certainly LG should x-post it at Dkos.

It should go at ePluribus Media as well. A guest post at The Next Hurrah and DavidNYC can FP LG again at SSP.

Pretty clear it does not fit at MyDD… LOL. If she adds a poll tho… maaaybe.

22. marisacat - 30 March 2007

From Politico.com

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) is looking to follow-up on his eye-opening hearing Wednesday with GSA Administrator Lurita Alexis Doan.

Waxman sent a letter on Thursday to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove asking Rove whether he played any role in putting together a Jan. 26 videoconference.

During that event, a White House aide briefed political appointees at GSA on what they could do to help Republicans – and hurt Democrats – in 2008. House Democrats have suggested the meeting may have violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from engaging in political activities at work. J. Scott Jennings, an aide to Rove who works in the White House Office of Political Affairs, conducted a PowerPoint presentation on the 2008 political outlook at that Jan. 26 meeting.

Doan was grilled mercilessly on Wednesday by Democrats on the panel over her comments at the gathering, which reportedly included her asking others in attendance what they could do “to help our candidates” in next year’s election. Doan said she could not recall making that comment, although at least two GSA officials have told committee investigators under oath that she did.

28. supervixen - 30 March 2007

I think LG is a fraud – neither an academic feminist nor a pole-dancer – and is in fact a “he”. Probably some creep from DK. Probably also responsible for the abusive spam messages.

I noted how LG avoided getting into any deeper discussion of feminism and philosophy when SweetClarity at MLW and Alexander at BT tried to draw her out.

29. marisacat - 30 March 2007

NP

In the body of my post?

That is a comment to her x-posting at BMT.

It is a thread commenter advising her to x-post at Dkos, that it would garner attention.

You can read Voyeurs and the comment at BMT, she can be found on the rec list.

30. JJB - 30 March 2007

SV,

I think LG is a fraud – neither an academic feminist nor a pole-dancer – and is in fact a “he”.

Maybe it’s soj. I’m only about 35-40% kidding with that remark.

Very interesting piece on the Brit/Iranian embroglio in Counterpunch today, with 5 intelligence pros (including Ray McGovern and Larry Johnson) offering their thoughts on the matter:

The frenzy in America’s corporate media over Iran’s detainment of 15 British Marines who may, or may not, have violated Iranian-claimed territorial waters is a flashback to the unrestrained support given the administration’s war-mongering against Iraq shortly before the attack.

The British are refusing to concede the possibility that its Marines may have crossed into ill-charted, Iranian-claimed waters and are ratcheting up the confrontation. At this point, the relative merits of the British and Iranian versions of what actually happened are greatly less important than how hotheads on each side-and particularly the British-decide to exploit the event in the coming days.

There is real danger that this incident, and the way it plays out, may turn out to be outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s last gesture of fealty to President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and “neo-conservative” advisers who, this time, are looking for a casus belli to “justify” air strikes on Iran. Bush and Cheney no doubt find encouragement in the fact that the Democrats last week refused to include in the current House bill on Iraq war funding proposed language forbidding the White House from launching war on Iran without explicit congressional approval.

31. colleen - 30 March 2007

I think LG is a fraud – neither an academic feminist nor a pole-dancer – and is in fact a “he”. Probably some creep from DK. Probably also responsible for the abusive spam messages.

That’s quite possible. I’m mildly interested that anyone would put this much effort into what is, after all, the ‘net equivalent of obscene phone calls and in the psychology behind it. It’s almost certainly a male who developed this as a strategy (indeed I’ve a very specific male in mind and the strategist and this persona could be one and the same.) OTOH I think that the proggy blogs and ‘centrist’ women have demonstrated irrefutably that notions of ‘sisterhood’ are a liability in clawing one’s way up that heap.

I must say, male or female, this is a very troubled individual and someone who is escalating. (never a good sign)

32. missdevore - 30 March 2007

34. marisacat - 30 March 2007

MissDevore at the time it was sent to me it ws on the RecList.

36. marisacat - 30 March 2007

I was not judging it was on the reclist, I was indicating, in assuming it was still on the list, that it would easy to locate for NP.

37. missdevore - 30 March 2007

I still find it curious that it made the reclist with this horde of recommenders:(current)

38. supervixen - 30 March 2007

It was on the reclist late this morning when I looked for it.

re: soj: I missed that brouhaha, only heard bits and pieces about it, and never read his/her stuff so I can’t tell. Anyone have links to some of soj’s more characteristic material?

colleen: OTOH I think that the proggy blogs and ‘centrist’ women have demonstrated irrefutably that notions of ’sisterhood’ are a liability in clawing one’s way up that heap.

Indeed. LG could be a female who has discovered that appealing to certain male fantasies of submissive/objectified “feminists” gives her a “leg up”, as it were.

39. supervixen - 30 March 2007

#35, bayprairie: seriously? booman had that porn on his rec list?

Hey, that’s nothing – over at MLW, Maryscott took the time to advise LG on how best to edit it, and actually resized the pics herself.

40. Sabrina Ballerina - 30 March 2007

Whoever this person, LG, is, (and good catch SV I think you’re probably right, the obsession is clear in both the latest postings and the abuser in the spam messages), s/he is demonstrating some serious problems.

It’s very sad to see someone with such problems encouraged to expose themselves to an even bigger audience by at least two posters when anyone with a modicum of compassion would refrain from using this person who clearly needs help.

42. Nonpartisan - 30 March 2007

Right, Mcat — it’s just that, in the body of your post, I could only see the comment when I highlighted it (which is still true). Weird techy thing.

43. Lucid - 30 March 2007

I did not realize how out of touch you were with Lacanian feminism. And by the way, many of my friends and I did pole dance and lap dance our way through college. So perhaps they are Lacanians at the club.

[from the last thread]

SV – in keeping with your point, yes I’m sure every man in the club thought handing over money for a lap dance was effecting a subversion of the symbollic order that disempowers women…

44. marisacat - 30 March 2007

ugh. SV

There were threads at BMT in late 2005 (not the first expositions, but the issue of Soj and his own / her own many diverse comments about the “soj” (and iirc “soj sonic” is an earlier screen name) entity did become an issue, I read but did not participate, that I recall.. I backed far away from Soj in jan of 2005, s/he was an invited FPer at LSF when em dash, Theoria and Fast Pete ran it)…

I am unsure the google words that would lead you to the threads… off hand I cannot remember titles of the threads. They could have been open threads that got hijacked to that discussion.

TO each his own, 5hearts.

Personally, I think this post is ill-executed, self-defeating and would need a major revision if it were to be at all effective; as it stands, it is far too cluttered with quotes irrelevant to LG’s purposeee (and she does, overlong and lacking explication.
But I have already made my views clear. It seems to me LG is attempting to exorcise the vile, toxic demon that is the source of mos of these quotes — and while I disagree with the form, I completely understand what drove her to post this.

Still wondering exactly what the point is other than an unhealthy obsession. But as I said, maybe I’m missing something.

In other news, it’s looking more and more like Gonzo will have to go. Seems no one is willing to take a fall for him. The question I have is why did it take this long to get rid of this blight on our judicial system? Our Congress, and all those who voted to confirm this obvious crook, (remember the objections raised across the blogoshere before his confirmation?) are a disgrace. Enough was known about him then to stop that nomination before it ever reached a committee. Shame on all of them.

49. marisacat - 30 March 2007

that is from MLW… I removed all the cell padding from the quote and quite a bit of html that screws up my page. It may make the text unstable out side its code.

51. bayprairie - 30 March 2007

i find the admixture of the mini-porn marisa-attack novella combined with one particular image placed clearly as centerpiece, the degas image of the older man lurking in the shadows and peering at a sitting, underaged female, disturbing.

when degas did the piece he never titled it and his intent is unknown. but it’s since been titled by critics, and is known universally throughout the art world as “the rape”.

so much for green, and wings-flapping, feminism.

jumps the shark by a tsunami to say the least. one would think in their efforts to attack their professed enemy

they would at least learn to see the weapons used the way uninvolved bystanders see.

52. Sabrina Ballerina - 30 March 2007

This is good advice to anyone thinking of involving themselves in this sad saga. I would take it if I were msoc. It has all the potential (especially when considering the Adam B accusation) of escalating into yet another internet tragedy.

This is the first time ever I’ve seen a posting here… (6.00 / 1)

that was beyond the realm of decency (whatever that is). I only “know it when I see it”.

Whatever the beef LG has with Marsicat, this essay (?) has in my opinion, given Marisacat the higher ground. Matter of fact, it makes LG look more than a little..um..unbalanced.

I’m no prude believe me, but there is a place for everything, and I don’t think this is the place for erotica (?) or whatever it is.

It smacks of an attempt to garner attention to herself, I am almost embarrassed for her. Seems almost exhibitionistic.

I can only hope this doesn’t escalate and provoke more of LG’s “art form” in this format.

54. jam.fuse - 30 March 2007

oops – already noted.

55. marisacat - 30 March 2007

Does it occur to no one that these people cannot find me (and I would be a fool to think they are not trying, and let me quickly add I do not feel personally threatened)

that they do not have my name, they would have to find me in one of the larger neighborhoods (which I have mentioned by name) in a City of more than 600,000…

That not even Madman knows my name nor my address nor does he have my phone number.

I speak of family members that are dead.

And last, I knew my ‘bottom of a bad 10 years’ was online at the virtual chapel of St Roch in Paris, a devotional to St Michael, the patron saint of the 1 arr. church…. Things written 8 and 9 years agao, ’98 and ’99.

As I said when they exposed it, if I need religion I sure the hell go to an ArchAngel (they are physically bigger, as it happens) and not to some cheap Dkos collection plate known as Pastor dan the wif and the virtual cookies.

I take it clearly that NO ONE gets this.

They can spread all the “creative writing” failures around that they wish, the name calling (and as pointed out I am not the only “cunt” so it seems, according to MLW, so is someone who took issue with the multiple postings, someone who said her own child had committed suicide.) around that they wish…

But I have guarded my offline privacy. That was my responsiblity.

56. missdevore - 30 March 2007

58. Nonpartisan - 30 March 2007

Eenteresting, Mcat — which brings up another question: how exactly do you get those comments, with all their working html? Is there a program you’re using, or is it just some keystroke combination I’m not familiar with?

Along the same lines, I’ve been thinking about your comment the other day that you’re looking for another blogging platform because WordPress’s moderation queues are sticky and you have to put up too many open threads. Frankly, I can’t think of a platform that would have more functionality while still allowing comment moderation and IP banning. The two platforms I’m most familiar with are Blogger and SoapBlox. SoapBlox is a non-starter for you because IP banning isn’t currently a feature (though Soapy plans to add it in the next update — but you still can’t moderate by search term, or deal easily with a poster with multiple IP addresses). And Blogger, as I’m sure you know, gives you no new features that you don’t already have.

I’m not sure what software Western Democrat uses, but who knows? It could have better functionality. At any rate, it’s pretty (though so is WordPress, for that matter).

59. Nonpartisan - 30 March 2007

Another potential software is whatever Outlandish Josh is using, which seems to have the ability to “verify” users. Again, I don’t know what that software is.

NP

I have no idea.. I highlight copy/paste and when placed on my page, it arrives iwth its HTML. Sometimes it is not a problem with cell padding it always is. MyDD has a similar html for comments. Very messy.

The cell padding at the soapblox is very much like what I notice from some ME or Israeli press.

I know little, except the rudimentary html that I use to post… the ease of WP (very easy for dummies plug ins, for the sidebar, for instance) was why I could open a site at all.

Thanks for the suggestions.

61. missdevore - 30 March 2007

Oh–I am so excited! (no, not the vacuum cleaner bags!)–I kept this file of articles and links on Susan Ralston–who is now going to have to testify before Congress regarding abramhoff. I almost deleted them when cleaning out computer files last week.

I also did a diary at dk about her some time back:

link to Dkos, Miss Devore Diary

(I trust Marisacat is not neurotic enough to freak out if I link to dk)

from the article:

“Isn’t there something incredible about some Administrative Asst. being linked to

Rove
Abramoff
Plamegate
Grover Norquist
Ralph Reed
Lou Sheldon

and being all the while a “Special Assistant” to our very special preznit?”

62. missdevore - 30 March 2007

Is that too pretentious to call it an article? sorry. I was really so excited I lit another cigarette while one was already burning in the ashtray.

63. Nonpartisan - 30 March 2007

Welcome. And that’s the other thing about WP — except for Blogger (which is much uglier), there’s no way you’re going to find a platform that is anywhere close to being as user-friendly. I had to teach myself rudimentary CSS to open a SoapBlox, for instance. I hear Scoop is even worse.

64. marisacat - 30 March 2007

link to anyone you like, MissDevore.

I mean if Martin thinks I am after Armando’s personal life, he can post the sentences, and not collapse in a shivering mass of jelly from linking to me.

What I see is that the illness and paranoia among the Dkosers has spread like, gosh, let it be said, a sickness.

Armando long ago threatned to sue people for “slander” for “lies”, (it was so regular that if anyone needs a link, they never read him at Dkos) – within months Martin was doing the same (titling a FP post ‘slander”, I have linked to tit before, where he had his atty Cicero on hand) and Msoc is now (and I have no idea for how long, again the site loads like a dying bear) throwing around “libelous” in her comment to the

“Voyeurs” scrabble babble.

One reason I make fun of the threats to sue and shut me down from DD — and Martin saying I should take the photo down and “apologise profusely”. And then he reminded me DD is an atty. It was at the close of “Outing Bloggers”.

Hey, isn’t that part of the game when it comes to lawyers? Someone says something, lawyer to lawyer, until one of them shouts “SUE!”. Then they all go skittering back under their rocks like the hermit crabs they really are. I’ve seen this game played, with my own eyes. So I’m pretty sure these lawyerly dudes all think we play by the same rule set!

Problem is, we don’t have the same kind of intimate knowledge. Our use of language isn’t so precisely tuned into legalese. Things that could get us sued just don’t automatically drip off our keyboards. The ignorance brings us bliss, because we’ll get the leeway (elbow room, let-it-slide-edness) in court. Poor, poor pitiful ‘we’.

Blow blow blow that junk, gently out your arse!

71. Nonpartisan - 30 March 2007

Never understood why ‘ol blue eyes was considered anything other than a second rate lounge singer. His mother, according to Kitty Kelley’s book, was essentially a mob boss in Hoboken, who nagged the club owners into pushing her boy to the big time. A friend of mine told me his own father was a competing crooner in ‘boken at the time, who, as he said “could really sing”. Frank got the push from the mob ’cause he was connected/Italian, my buddy’s old man ended up dying from the drink. Plus Sinatra has such as a slimy reptilian persona in the movies.

Miss Devore, I forgot you’d made that comment. If you read what I said in that piece carefully, it’s this:

Armando was also unique among the BBB in his willingness to befriend a wide variety of unique characters, people who he defended for their incisive minds when others wanted them ignored or banned. Maryscott O’Connor, Pyrrho, BooMan, Galiel, Miss Devore – all at one time or another found solace in Armando’s comment threads. This celebration of oddballs and counter-blog-culture individuals was something absolutely unique to Armando among the BBB; with his fall from grace, no such creative minds have gotten anywhere near the inner circle of the BBB.

I didn’t say Armando provided you solace, I said his comment threads did — i.e., you hung out in them. I said he befriended you; he did at one time. That’s more than anyone else did of the FPers. So I don’t see where I’m speaking untruth.

{blows whistle} Vipers, don your human costumes, quickly!

“One question, though, 5hearts…

Why are you taking this so personally?

You seem genuinely offended on behalf of these creatures masquerading as human beings. it’s puzzling. You DO realise they also consider YOU fair game, and would gladly set upon YOU for one of their vulture feasts, given the slightest inkling as to your existence?

Meh. Never mind. It’s irrelevant, really. I would, however, appreciate it if you wuld stop chastising me for having the temerity to allow LG to post whatever she damned well feels like posting.

She’s a member of MLW. I don’t LIKE what she’s posted — and I don’t HAVE to like it. She has every right to post whatever she wants to post here, short of abusive screeds leveled at members of MLW themselves.

Privacy is something you have to deal with, some just do it differently.
I never thought there was anything to hide and have always used my real name (WordPress seems to love throwing the “earl” in there when I’m logged in, it was my maternal grandfather’s first name). Have I been careless with my finances about 10 years ago? Yeah. But I’ve never been arrested and I’m looking for women with ‘a sense of humor’ in my online personals. Energy? Not so much. It’s all out there, but that might be part of the physical bravery that comes with being 5’11″ and 300lbs.

Hide’n’Seek has never been my game

80. D. Throat - 30 March 2007

Dehumanization an essential first step.

It is a distraction from the “political talk”. They have just about painted a red sign with arrows that says “Look over here!!!”…. not at the political realities that are coming from here.

Must easier to talk about clits and vipers… than the Democrats WILLINGLY escalating and funding the tragedy in Iraq. As long as the attention is kept on the vaginas… no need to deal with that bothersome political speak.

LG… is really pissed off not about her pathetic sexual life… but that she has been “OUTED” as a Breaux Blogmaid Extraordinare… no real progressive can justify that slimy rat….except the Boyz

81. marisacat - 30 March 2007

Maintaining privacy of details of my life is not “Hide ‘n’ Seek”. I also don’t play victim. WHich is a favored pastime online.

sorry.. it just is not HIde ‘n’ Seek..

I have posted this before, a FPer at Dkos emailed someone who posted online for years at several of the so called “A-Lister Blogs”…(and was disliked by the blog owners for strongly stated opinons, however, the person is a Democrat, a voter and was a delegate to the Boston ’04 convention),

he emailed the exact home address to the person, the work address (a large transanational organisation) on another continent and a third piece of information — I canot at the moment recall, it as not the SS#, it may have been the work phone.

Sorry, these are not nice people. They are not even decent.

Nor do they have the slightest interest in online political discussion of any sort.

82. supervixen - 30 March 2007

Are we vultures or vipers? I keep forgetting.

MLW comment from “Curmudgette”:

Let me start by saying LG that the writing substance of this diary impressed the hell out of me. Really, really excellent. I hope that in your life off these blogs you are being well-paid as a writer of erotica, because I found this as exquisite as anything I’ve ever read on, say, Clean Sheets.

Oh ha ha ha! You must be joking, Curmudgette. It was VERY poorly written – overwritten and verbose, which is never a good thing in writing, particularly not in erotica.

Turgidity is for penises, not for prose.

As for Sinatra: I never liked the guy, he had a smarmy quality but he was good in several movies – From Here to Eternity, Guys and Dolls, etc. I like the Dorsey-era stuff and a few of his later tunes like “That’s Life”, but his voice was never my favorite. There were far better singers, even in the Italian-crooner category. Tony Bennett, for instance.

83. marisacat - 30 March 2007

My mother was on the same Super Chief going west, that Sinatra was, in 47.

No one recognised him or bothered with him at all…

Yes his family was well known in NJ Dem party thug politics, his mother was a bag woman aside from the local abortionist.

I surely have no problem with abortion (tho painted as anti woman LOL), but making sure there was a good one around was a SERVICE to the men, primarily.

On Legal Impotence and Little Brains in need of TV Timeout

It is just laughable: Where do they get their alarm bells?
From Bewitched or I Dream of Genie?

You’ll be hearing from my lawyer.

This cliched harumph was inevitably wagged at Samantha and Darren or Genie and “Master” by some typecast prigs for some inconvenienty Bewitching or Geni-us like behavior. Me? I just wanted to be snuggling up with Elizabeth Montgomery and was open to more than a few adventurous nights inside a bottle.

Little did I know how shared amusements with the Munsters and the Addams Family warped one’s sensibilities.

Perhaps our healthy “So sue me” fuck-off-itude comes from endearing Goth TV Kin like Uncle Fester and Grampa Munster…

…But How do the assholes turn out who got off on the prospect of a “retainer”? Anal Retentive I guess.

So Sue Me.

85. missdevore - 30 March 2007

NP-to distinguish the solace provided with aravia’s tolerating me in threads (when he did) still distorts the history, implying I lasted at dk for as long as I did, due to the mercy of aravia.

As far as other FP’ers? I had cordial and supportive relationships with BarbinMD, Meteor Blades, Kid Oakland, SusanHu and others at dk.

I had also met in person Shannika, San Jose Lady, navajo, blksista and others at a dk meet-up (all great people).

It had something to do with me, I expect, and not some shephard.

And in the end, it was my criticisms of aravia that got me thrown out of there. Even some friendly with me pulled back when it came to that. All the “he doesn’t suffer fools gladly, his contributions are so great” blah blah blah were thrown at me, or elsewhere used to support him. And he came to use my name as a negative example. With hrh, Monique Radevu etc. (and then hrh became the bad example, and the beat went on.Now, apparently Marisacat is the new Patron Satan)

And he is a self-professed political centrist, so the tolerance was not towards ideas across the board, but who he thought was in his corner personally at one time or another.

86. Nonpartisan - 30 March 2007

Miss Devore, I wasn’t trying to imply that you served at the pleasure of Armando or were “succored” by him. I was stating something that I do believe, which was that through his threads and his encouragement you were elevated to a circle of wider readership. He brought you “in”, so to speak.

That may be the point of disagreement.

Out of internet range for the weekend, so I won’t be able to respond in a timely fashion.

90. supervixen - 30 March 2007

Nonpartisan is sinking deeper and deeper into the quicksand. This “explanation” is even worse than the “solace” statement. Armando didn’t bring Miss D “in”, or “encourage” her in any way that I saw. Examples and cites will have to be provided for that one.

It appears that Booman has removed the “Voyeurs” diary.

What’s between the two of you personally doesn’t belong on this site. But if what you say is true, you’re doing a pretty damned good job catching up with him. I’ve seen you hurt people who did nothing whatsoever to harm you or to insult you. If you had one tenth the ability to see the results of your own actions you wouldn’t be so quick to slam BTD or anyone else.

I read the diary you wrote about him that rightfully got deleted. It had no business at this site. You’re speaking about things that happened a long time ago. But the hurt you’re causing is in the present.

And it’s not about BTD being a man, and I find that objectification by both you and hrh to be offensive.

It’s hard to ignore the obvious, the political enfants terribles of the BBB are entirely clueless when it comes to practical politics. How many years now have they been aiming their darts at Marisacat, and each time they only succeed in making her yet more influential? If their political ineptitude weren’t readily obvious from their alleged “analysis” of RL politics, their inability to master their own kiddie pool, the blogosphere, reveals them for the sad sacks they are. The great pragmatists and practitioners of “realpolitik” don’t even follow Macchiavelli’s most basic axiom, to “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” The Prince should never “ban” those that may threaten them, doing so allows them the freedom to wander the hills and valleys, putting together the ragtag assemblage that has ever descended on the castles with torches and pitchforks. That M. Blades discourages the practice of banning suggests little of tolerance for opposing views, but does indicate that his political experience has taught him certain valuable lessons.

It should have been an easy matter for them to marginalize Marisacat politically. Her political views are far outside the mainstream, her writing style is often deliberately obscure, and she has a temper that can be baited, and they control the high grounds of the terrain. Yet each time they attempt to bring her down, they only strengthen her. Laughable.

It is not unnoticed that the primary off-line manifestation of pwoggy-bloggies is Drunken Liberals. No surprise that in their environment it is Maryscott that rises to the top, her poor mes, -isms, and stinkin’ thinkin’ in full display of late. They need to get a “room.”

Since when?

Maryscott?

Or perhaps, LG, you’d like to explain yourself?

heh. fat fucking chance.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
In practice, there is.

2ndFoundation..

yeah Drinking liberally (and all of their “liberal” games) is pretty transparent.

109. marisacat - 30 March 2007

Miss Devore..

Will send that comment to him.

110. Lucid - 30 March 2007

A TOP GENERAL WARNED PRESIDENT BUSH MIGHT EMBARRASS HIMSELF BY CLAIMING PAT TILLMAN DIED IN AN AMBUSH, ACCORDING TO THE AP

That might be one of the least embarassing things he’s done in his entire tenure.

111. missdevore - 30 March 2007

wait…..isn’t there a POLICY not to insult members at MLW?:

“and yes, shanikka, it was an essay, and a mellifluous essay at that. perhaps one day you will learn how to write.”

shannika is an attorney and a very thoughtful writer.

so I guess LG was the deleter at both sites.

heY catnip–is this going to turn into one of those Francis Bacon/William Shakespeare thangs?

Glengarry Pear Armando Shaking Frantic Reynolds Bacon?

112. marisacat - 30 March 2007

Madman just popped me this. DiFi resigned the MILCON sub committee.. Military Construction.

catch the comment from thoughtcriminal, 3 down.

113. bayprairie - 30 March 2007

Are you offended by the sexual nature of the post? It’s erotica. Perhaps not your taste in erotica, but it’s definitely erotica.

I am curious as to why so many people find erotica so offensive.

by: Maryscott O’Connor @ Fri Mar 30, 2007 at 11:45:39 AM PST

explicit literary descriptions of a living, breathing woman’s alleged sexual activity in such extreme detail, going on for such a length, with no permission asked nor given from the unwitting subject prior to the publishing is in every instance imaginable characterized with another word entirely.

erotica ain’t it.

on the other hand, a wave to shanikka, 5hearts, SweetClarity and other like-minds who spoke truth to the poster. all of you said things that i personally felt. it was good, seeing your comments. they were spot on.

114. Kevin Lynch - 30 March 2007

“Where is your defensiveness coming from kevin.”

From the fact that you’re trying to start a fight with me

“I discussed what I do. I may do that here. I gave a concrete example (and not the only instance I can reference) of why. The highly particular email sent to someone several blogs did not want posting.”

And I discussed the fact that I’m handling the situation differently than you are. This wasn’t a value judgement, just a contrast study.

“Hide ‘n’ Seek” is a characterisation. Not a particularly good one. ”

It’s a child’s game, usually played by children. It’s my belief we’re condemning the same parties. You keep insisting I must be talking about you. If I were, I’d mention you by name. There hasn’t been a single question on my part regarding your motivations since the second day I posted here. Your site is yours, I just play here

“I pointed out that I do not agree that that is what I am doing. If that applies to you, it sure was not clear.”

I never said it applied to you, either

“I am not interested in outing you. WHo have I outed?”

I outed myself. Have never intended to be “inned”. As far as I’m concerned, you’ve never outed anybody.

“List them.”

Never my issue. The fact that you’ve decided to give the bullies and attention freaks some bullying and even more attention is an issue I got over the second day I posted here. Mouth zipped. It’s hard to swallow, after I’ve heaped praise and recommended your site to others, the fact you still don’t trust me. I even gave ol’ MB a good shot, apologized to you for giving him a public low blow, and now he’s back on the “sugar list”. You’re right, I’m the asshole

And you’re arguing with someone who’s not your enemy

Kevin

115. bayprairie - 30 March 2007

help! i’m stuck in spam!

116. missdevore - 30 March 2007

111-oh-good one.

117. liberalcatnip - 30 March 2007

wait…..isn’t there a POLICY not to insult members at MLW?:

No, no…it’s “don’t insult Armando”.

Glengarry Pear Armando Shaking Frantic Reynolds Bacon?

It’s going to be a challenge fitting that on the front cover of le book.

118. marisacat - 30 March 2007

Where did you see a ‘Sugar List’?

I posted his last three sentences as the apology was to those who post here.

I doubt you know, as I did not say, that I did not reply to the email forwarded to me. I saw no reason.

And if you go back and read, you will see, at no point did I accept the apology. I said, without specifying what I think of his drop ins, that if he wants to do his ‘evry six months drop in’ and bitch, he can. He has not been a pleasant poster here, ever.

Why would he be.

Nor am I personally impressed iwth his apology. Tho as the apology was made to a group I did not post that.

People are independent. They can accept or reject that sort of thing on their own.

119. kevinearllynch - 30 March 2007

Mcat

I think you know my wishes to try and be friendly with everyone. Until they turn to the dark side. Then they’re spit upon, spurned, and ignored. It’s easier to get on with life that way.

the world is a hard place, why should forgiveness be easy?

Kevin

p.s. note, you’re not being ignored. nothing at all is being implied here

i havent been in blogdom for a couple of weeks. can anyone catch me up. looks like i have missed a few flame wars, sucides and cat fights

123. Revisionist - 30 March 2007

just to add something….

i am APPALLED. the blahgs seem to be all over gonzeles and hollering impeachment. firing political appointees for political reasons, bad. lying to start a war, killing a million people, destroyng a country and wasting trillions, no big deal.

124. Miss Devore - 30 March 2007

Revisionist, I’ll try to summarize: melt down your chocolate bunny (or if you celebrate another way, a bittersweet equivalent), but don’t let it completely disintegrate. photograph it. spread photograph liberally among the blogs, or offer a peephole version. sprinkle .02cc of venom on the chocolate. bake in a type H vacuum cleaner bag at 451F, for 3 days. Serve with pears and nougat and your favorite camel dip.

And please wear your best size 10.5 clitwear with claws for the ocassion.

Paine. Yes, I noticed that comment earlier. That’s one of my favorite movies. It is one of the best cinematic depictions of 1. Plato’s Republic & 2. 20th century fascism I have ever seen.

Rove indeed fits the role, at least in appearance [I consider Rove to be one of the fascists, so maybe the human side of the conflict.]

131. lucidculture - 30 March 2007

And please wear your best size 10.5 clitwear with claws for the ocassion.

Damn. I only have size 9.5 clitwear with talons. Does that mean I’m disinvited from the dinner party?

Oh – btw I think I might have a comment over in moderation at your place. I’m giving you and egg citation.

132. colleen - 30 March 2007

I was stating something that I do believe, which was that through his threads and his encouragement you were elevated to a circle of wider readership. He brought you “in”, so to speak.

NP get a grip. You’re speaking to the (despite what your ‘blog mother’ says) person whose experience this was. It’s not a question of your personal belief, it’s her personal experience and this is something she is THE expert on. She is right, you are wrong. Man up, admit your error and apologise. The notion that Armando was in any way helpful or was even capable of being helpful is nonsense. What is he, your ‘blog Uncle’?

the essay served its purpose, although many failed to understand the psychoanalytic argument i made.

sweet Jesus help me.

133. Miss Devore - 30 March 2007

talons are fine.

134. Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2007

it’s better if you melt your chocolate jesus …

135. Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2007

as for Karl the Brain Bug, if only Dougie Howser would come along and capture his ass …

oh, if if someone would work in a Dina Meyer shower scene while they’re at it, that would be good too.

136. missdevore - 30 March 2007

lucid–couldn’t find any comments in moderation.

that’s terrible–because everytime an egg citation is given, but not received, I think a stem cell cries.

catnip–maybe the impression NP is hung up on, was the equanimity displayed to me–AFTER I was banned.

137. colleen - 30 March 2007

Thank you Bay. I can only suppose that for people like Emsock such a violation of another is sexually arousing.

138. lucidculture - 30 March 2007

because everytime an egg citation is given, but not received, I think a stem cell cries.

Miss D I think you have the makings of a top 40 hit there if you riff on it for a while. Hell, I’ve got a studio… maybe we should record it this weekend. Maybe we can release it on our new album ‘The Trials of a Blastocyst’. Or maybe the band name should be ‘Miss D and the Blastocysts’… I don’t know. Just throwing ideas out.

And MitM – Dina Meyer. Big time crush. Up there with Rachel Weisz and Lori Petty for me.

139. Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2007

Dina was SO much hotter than Richards in that movie. She was smart, tough and kicked ass. Your other two are great too, I loved Weisz in Constantine, and just read somewhere that she’s rumored to be in Sin City 2. Woo hoo!

As for my weaknesses, I admit that I will watch any piece of crap that Milla Jovovich is in, and I can’t stay away from any movie w/ Ziyi Zhang in it. Oh, and Alyson Hannigan … Willow, even evil Vampire Willow …

I’m such a damned geek.

140. missdevore - 30 March 2007

lucid–My first songwriting venture with a bf of old was:

“What did I do to be so white and depressed”

141. NYCee - 30 March 2007

Marisa:

Have been noodling around in the threads – gettin ready for a little display tomorrow at work (NO – NOT pole dancing! ;-) and taking a short break.

And you know, and I meant to tell you this by email long ago, but you know I am a godawful emailer, and I will, marisa, to a greater extent, but that eastbayexpress quote from you was a blast of fresh AIR.

At the time. When it came out. Post election 2004, or not too far after, as I recall.. I happened upon it via a dkos diary that linked the article for the express purpose of showing how Kos had told Kerry operatives to stay mum on election malfeasance the very day after the election… you were on that diary too, at the time. The diary was the red flag sort, from one of the many of us who were disgruntled over that topic’s kabosh at DK. And total FP silence.

A very belated chapeaux. I do not often do the chapeaux, but it was immediate when I saw what you said there. I doffed mine instantly. Or threw it up in the air, is more like it.

It was very vanguard of you… very illuminating… and very much appreciated.

142. missdevore - 30 March 2007

Lucid–with apologies to Jeff Beck (Truth album)

Thought I heard a stem cell cryin’.
Thought I heard a stem cell cryin’ today.
You didn’t hear no stem cell cryin’.
You did not hear no stem cell cryin’.

143. lucidculture - 30 March 2007

Weisz I think won my heart in Enemy at the Gate. I think her best work though is The Constant Gardner – fantastic film all around.

Lori – well, let’s just say I have a penchant for tough women. Though it is a terrible movie, I will watch Point Break over and over, solely because of her.

Milla – hey, she’s cool by me too. The other two I don’t know, but will google shortly.

My biggest guilty pleasure is probably Kirsten Dunst [along Milla lines]. Not quite sure why, but, whatever.

As for other serious contenders for my heart – Ally Sheedy [in going with the 'goth' label that has been applied to all of us], strangely enough Kate Winslett [because if you've ever seen an interview, she's smart as a tack and hilarious - not to mention a pretty great actor, Titanic notwithstanding], Jennifer Connelly [though she is an aristocrat], Halle Berry [fell in love with her for her role in Bullworth], Susan Sarandon [no explanation needed], and Rosaria Dawson [also no explanation needed].

144. lucidculture - 30 March 2007

“What did I do to be so white and depressed”

When I was 14, I honestly used to have vivid dreams about having a ‘race change operation’. These were not daydreams – these were sleep dreams. At the time I was so fixated on the Civil Rights movement – if anyone recalls, this was circa 1987 when ‘Eyes on the Prize’ was first aired [and yes, my parents only let me watch PBS, sports & supervised viewings of no more than 1 hour of network TV a night & we didn't have cable]. At the time, I was also reading a lot of Richard Wright, James Baldwin, Gwendolyn Brooks and Langston Hughs…

I was so depressed to be white. And I don’t mean that, nor did I understand that then, in any patronizing way. It was really bizarre – an adolescent reaction to all of the information I was processing.

145. lucidculture - 30 March 2007

Miss D, with no offense to David Byrne, how about the following:

And you may ask yourself,
What egg citation?
And you may ask yourself,
Where is my uppity blastocyst?
And you may tell yourself
This is not my crying stemcell!
And you may tell yourself
These are not my fertilized eggs!

146. Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2007

I latched onto the blood, the small percentage of Lakota blood, that I got from my mother, from shame at what my ancestral german, french and english blood had done. it’s silly, it was self-defeating, and it discounted all of the good white men and women who’d fought all along for decency, but … I even took comfort even in bad adam ant songs, fer xrist’s sake.

So many crimes, so much destruction. How to wrap your young, idealistic mind around that?

147. lucidculture - 30 March 2007

So many crimes, so much destruction. How to wrap your young, idealistic mind around that?

It shaped me into what I am today. Still young, still idealistic. [unfortunately, still self-destructive].

For anyone who is precocious, has a conscience, and emotionally internalizes what they’re born into as historical oppressors, it is way to much to handle.

But it usually turns us into good people in the end. I think you’re a good example of that.

Hell, I’m 3/4 German – blond hair and blue eyes to boot. Maybe it’s the 1/4 scottish “fuck it all’ that gets me through.
