…arpeggios are a succession of notes (do mi sol do, do sol mi do) as opposed to a chord with notes all played together at once–roughly speaking. Lanvin Arpège is named for this musical form because Jeanne Lanvin’s daughter, whom she had Arpège created for, was an opera singer. It was presented as a gift on her daughter’s 30th birthday; the year was 1927.

Arpège, an Aldehydic Floral

like the old parfum ad, Promise her anything, but give her Arpège. The Dems did too much of it.

Oh I know, being actively opposed to the first Black nom for the presidency is not pretty. It would be nice to play along, no? And he works to be so appealing. As he ”grabs lightning with his own hands”. (Biden quote from the 60 Minutes interview)

People like me were really supposed to cave to the free flowing accusations of being racist, it rolled out slightly soft boiled, out of Iowa and then, harder boiled, as Obama lost NH.

Don’t think so. And I see already, the soft Democratic propaganda is starting: “They can’t win unless they steal it”. Don’t make me laugh. Especially as I notice that “help” from useful idiots. They steal it for sport, on that fevered GOTV day. They’ve won long before, often.

The doe eye’d ”liberal” and the down market conniver. Nope, won’t be voting for them. We have just seen a frantic, panic’d play from Ob and Knob. Meanwhile the former beauty queen is with Cindy McCain today, mother of 7, and Laura Bush, outgoing First Lady. And the Democrats are wondering what just happened.

Obama says, It was not me! I will fire that staffer when I find him. Or her.

Quite a stench off that perfume. Right right… the Palins are some kind of redneck or fundie or whatever they are… ”they deserve what they get”.

I consider both tickets to b hidebound shit kickers, in different garb.

I consider both tickets to b hidebound shit kickers, in different garb.

So what else is gnu? Speaking of which, I bet Annie Oakley from up Alaska way would have fun shooting them, too. We know that for sure because she’s only offered up as another beast in the Republican zoo, NOT a new way of operating.

okay, I’ve beaten that pun to death …

CNN just reporting that Plaquemines parish levee is being overtopped and may give way at any time, then cut to Laura Bush speech at convention.

oops my photo failed.

well callers are comparing Palin to Obama for experience. Do they hear themselves?

And one called the daughter “Jamie Lynn”…

Palin lawyered up for Troopergate today. The bridge to nowhere story is gathering strength.

And hurricanes Hanna and Ike await their turn.

Got word that some hunkered-down friends uptown came through okay, and are running on generator power now.

6. Madman in the Marketplace - 1 September 2008

I do enjoy offering equal-opportunity contempt for both halves of our ruling classes:

The Council For National Policy Meets In Minn, Vets Palin

Last week, while the media focused almost obsessively on the DNC’s spectacle in Denver, the country’s most influential conservatives met quietly at a hotel in downtown Minneapolis to get to know Sarah Palin. The assembled were members of the Council for National Policy, an ultra-secretive cabal that networks wealthy right-wing donors together with top conservative operatives to plan long-term movement strategy.

CNP members have included Tony Perkins, James Dobson, Grover Norquist, Tim LaHaye and Paul Weyrich. At a secret 2000 meeting of the CNP, George W. Bush promised to nominate only pro-life judges; in 2004, then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist told the group, “The destiny of the nation is on the shoulders of the conservative movement.” This year, thanks to Sarah Palin’s selection, the movement may have finally aligned itself behind the campaign of John McCain.

Minnery described the mood as CNP members watched Palin accept her selection as John McCain’s Vice Presidential pick. “I was standing in the back of a ballroom filled with largely Republicans who were hoping against hope that something would put excitement back into this campaign,” Minnery said. “And I have to tell you, that speech by Alaska Governor Sarah Palin — people were on their seats applauding, cheering, yelling… That room in Minneapolis watching on the television screen was electrified. I have not seen anything like it in a long time.”

Minnery added that his boss, Dobson, has yearned for a conservative female leader like Margaret Thatcher to emerge on the American scene. And while Palin is no Thatcher, “she has not rejected the feminine side of who she is, so for that reason, she will be attractive to conservative voters.”

Those people truly do live in another universe. How can she, or Thatcher, “lead” in a worldview where women submit to the will of their menfolk? The mental pretzels they twists themselves into look really exhausting.

The Weekly Standard blog has a pretty interesting and longish (for a blog) post on TrooperGate. They reference the Wapo piece of Satruday, I guess it was. I did nto have time yet to follow all the links.

So caveat, etc It is WS. Etc. But they maintian the BIL has been found quilty already on several counts. The most noteworthy, (it sounds like) tasering a 10 year old.

Is this the year of the chillun? OR something?

Green Party Watch has a detailed and very interesting front page about the electoral college and its imcompatability with free and fair elections. Not sure if it’s been linked to here or not. It’s from 8/7.

Gee, if only somebody in the GP were knocked up under suspicious (ie — any circumstances) and they were taking Nader to court to sue for non-support, maybe liberal Blogland would finally give a shit about something other than their little duopolistic reindeer games.

19. marisacat - 1 September 2008

This is the WS article on TrooperGate – I have nto read it yet, there are about 5 or 6 links and ugh I learned from none other than DHinMI how they misrepresent what is really in links.

so…………… caveat, but for anyone interested

This is what WS is claiming, using a link to Anchorage News.

While the Post refers to mere “allegations” made by Palin’s father, it fails to note the state troopers’ investigation and 482-page report–released to the Anchorage Daily News–that found Wooten guilty of these charges:

Troopers eventually investigated 13 issues and found four in which Wooten violated policy or broke the law or both:

• Wooten used a Taser on his stepson.

• He illegally shot a moose.

• He drank beer in his patrol car on one occasion.

• He told others his father-in-law would “eat a f’ing lead bullet” if he helped his daughter get an attorney for the divorce.

Sounds very Northern Lights… 😉

McCain Hires GOP Operative Who Helped Smear Him in South Carolina in 2000

September 01, 2008 8:46 PM

Former officials of Sen. John McCain’s 2000 campaign expressed shock and disbelief Monday to learn than the GOP presidential nominee had hired South Carolina political consultant Tucker Eskew.

Eskew, along with Warren Tompkins and Neal Rhodes, were key members of then-Gov. George W. Bush’s South Carolina team during the 2000 primaries. McCain and his team long held Bush, Tompkins, Rhodes and Eskew responsible for the various smears against McCain and his family in the Palmetto state during that contentious contest. ::snip snappy!::

How soon did you return to work after you gave birth to the baby ? And can you prove that it was your baby and that you’re not really the grandmother ?

40. Intermittent Bystander - 1 September 2008

He should be managing a McDonalds counter, with cap.

41. marisacat - 1 September 2008

FWIW, as at least KGO, a host on now, is still pushing the both babies are Bristol’s version… Byron York/The Corner spoke to a columnist and former editor at the Anchorage News.

[M]ichael Carey, who is a columnist and former editorial page editor for the Anchorage Daily News. We started talking, of course, about the day’s Palin news — the fake baby story and the real baby story. As far as the fake baby story was concerned, Carey told me that the rumors were going around in Alaska a few months ago, not long after the birth of Sarah Palin’s fifth child. He told me that Daily News reporters and editors explored the story quite extensively, and, as Carey said on NPR, “could find no basis for it except that people who didn’t like Sarah Palin believed it.” ::snip::

45. Madman in the Marketplace - 1 September 2008

btw, Crooks & Liars is claiming the Olbermann was removed from the desk covering the RNC beside Tweety.

46. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

Wow, I go away for a while and come back to find some very silly “news”. What’s the deal with this uproar over the Palin teen-pregnancy stuff? She’s militantly pro-life, so why is it such an outrage that her teenage daughter is going to give birth? That’s perfectly consistent with Palin’s position.

The way I would attack Palin on this is to ask if her daughter’s pregnancy occurred because she’s raising her kids to believe that girls are created by God to be babyfactories and should put family before education and careers. This angle hasn’t come up in the liberal critiques of Palin, at least the ones I’ve seen.

The thing I disapprove of is their choice of kids’ names. Track? Trig? Bristol? There are imaginative and creative kids’ names, and then there are “dumb-as-a-bag-of-hammers” kids’ names.

6. That is a really bizarre quote –

Minnery added that his boss, Dobson, has yearned for a conservative female leader like Margaret Thatcher to emerge on the American scene. And while Palin is no Thatcher, “she has not rejected the feminine side of who she is, so for that reason, she will be attractive to conservative voters.”

Unlike Dobson, who was probably immersed in some Bible study madrassah somewhere, I remember Thatcher’s reign well. While she repeatedly rejected the idea of being a feminist, she could hardly be described as “feminine” in any sense that would please an evangelical conservative type. She was a harsh, hectoring battle-axe, and unashamed of it. I admired that quality in her, if nothing else.

It was telling that many among the so-called “liberals” and “left” used misogynist language against her – “bitch”, “fishwife” etc. And this was decades before Hillary.

47. Intermittent Bystander - 1 September 2008

34 – No problem with arpeggios here.

And notwithstanding ancient, as in childhood amazement/disgust with that “promise her anything” ad campaign, it was interesting to learn the backstory on Arpège! Thanks for the link to Pink Manhattan.

OK, I’m gonna skip the HTML on the following pff-related PSAs. You all know where the Google is.

Jack’s Smirking Revenge has secured a Scoop site and is expressing daredevilish enthusiasm for creating a replacement, “Free Speech Zone” group blog, and Ender is thinking about it too. (Warning – those announcement links may be found at MLW, which is STILL loaded for dying bear AND winged animations, although Revisionist is now advising Maryscott on redesign. Warning2 – Lord Stomach Flu is rubbernecking the pff/peeder meta crash/smash there, too.) Mervyn Pumpkinhead/the hamburglar/white trash poet/etc. raised a pirate flag to half mast on the Orange Ship the other day, and vox humana spoke so eloquently at the memorial that even MajorFlaw had to make nice and express regret at the sewer’s dissolution. MarketTrustee, sabrina, Sejomoje, Susan Something, melvin, and cometman are still MIA, it appears, despite diverse appreciative shout-outs at SisDevore’s emergency liferaft. HairClub, noom, and the various Kongs have also disappeared, it would seem. And donkeyturd, Shadowthief, and tejano – temporarily perchless? – are surely watching, waiting, and forming exotic opinions.

Am I forgetting anything?

56. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

I’ve just read the last few threads with MCat’s comments on the radio coverage of PalinBabygate, and I went over to the Orange Place to see some of the fireworks there. It’s disgusting to see people avidly attacking a woman politician based on her femaleness. Andrew Sullivan is disgusting too – a gay man obsessing about the details and timing of a woman’s pregnancy and birth. I mean, come on:

Also, and for me this is the clincher:

it’s pretty horrible down there for quite a while after giving birth, most doctors will order no sex for at least six weeks, and well let’s be honest, most men wouldn’t want to go there for at least six weeks. And most women certainly won’t be in the mood for just as long. Which means that again she is unlikely to be more than three months pregnant if she gave birth in April.

This seems persuasive to me.

Well, of course that would be “the clincher” for you, dear Sully, because it reeks of the disdain/disgust that so many misogynist gay men have for women’s sexuality, particularly the pregnancy/birthgiving side of it, which they find terrifying and nauseating. What real masculine man would want to “go there” so soon after such a thing? The horror…. the horror!!

57. lucid - 1 September 2008

HRH – we’re in your neck of the woods Satruday. We’re playing the New England Culture Fest in Lowell Mass. It’s the only ‘fair trade’ festival in the country. I’ll e-mail you. But if you and family aren’t doing anything, it should be pretty cool.

58. marisacat - 1 September 2008

I dunno Eugene Robinson, how’s that, slightly morphed for a different product, working for Ob?

I know, we’re not supposed to pay attention to such inconvenient details. We’re supposed to be dazzled by how unaffected she is, how plain-spoken, how “genuine.”

59. marisacat - 1 September 2008

KGO radio (woamn host) is calling the daughter “Bristol the pistol”, contending that she is “very sexually active” and going thru the photos online, via RADIO description.

I am in the twilight zone, I really am.

60. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

47 – something happened? I missed it all. Just as well. I hope peeder is OK, because I liked him. PFF was a good idea though its scope was limited. I couldn’t care less about the other people you mention.

61. marisacat - 1 September 2008

Sully teh bareback sex advertiser.

62. marisacat - 1 September 2008

Now a woman caller says if Palin the mother cannot control a child then she is not fit for the job.

OH that REALLY works. Yup!

63. marisacat - 1 September 2008

More from Eugene Robinson:

For another, initial indications are that many women were insulted at the notion that they would automatically swoon over any candidate who happened to have two “X” chromosomes.

How about we leave it to the families?

64. NYCee - 1 September 2008

This evening I was trying to find good-for-me sneakers (I am sorely in need, long overdue) at a sports store called Paragon, a NYC institution, lower Broadway… My cell phone rings and it is Mom! Calling to say Amy Goodman got arrested, to call the sheriff! I had the right shoe on, the sales guy was waiting, left one in hand. The store was about to close.

Well, I will call for producers, I guess, now that I am home and see that Amy is out. Anyone have updated info on their incarceration situation?

They really are going all out in fascist mode in Minn… David Bicking, Minnesota Green Party, Protest Organizer, on Washington Journal/Cspan, today, describes how he has been put thru hell, and his daughter, too. And others. Trumped up, ridiculous charges, search of their houses, seizure of all sorts of property. Arrests. Based on … WHAT? This is really sick. The sherriff takes bike inner tubes and demonstrates that these can be used as sling shots. Kryptonite bike locks are suspect, spirited away to evidence room. Lol. They take dirty water for flushing toilets, kept in buckets, and say it is to be thrown at cops. Preventive! It’s all the rage. Bush set the example. Dream up any bs to restrict civil liberties and dissent, and it will be ok.

It occurs to me how we have young people willing to sacrifice their lives by the thousands for these horrendous wars, yet who is really breaking out of these pens, challenging the cops? Maybe now, but from what I saw, the cops are just concocting reasons to arrest, not arresting because anyone was breaking out and challenging the sacred rules/lines meant to keep the protests meaningless and impotent.

65. marisacat - 1 September 2008

IB

66. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

56 – are kids allowed at this festival? I’m sure Peter would love to attend. Lowell isn’t close to us, it’s a 3-hour drive, but maybe we can swing it.

58 – one thing I have to say in Palin’s favor – from what I’ve seen of the pics, her girls are very pretty but also seem to have intelligence and personality. They don’t appear to be trailer-trash bimbos.

67. NYCee - 1 September 2008

Oops – My link failed. Here it is again:

David Bicking, Minnesota Green Party, Protest Organizer – His segment is the 7th down on list, left side.

68. CSTAR - 1 September 2008

# 54 Well I’m glad that in this instance at least a journalist dared to challenge a response.

69. lucid - 1 September 2008

HRH – all day festival 2-10. Lots of fair trade artisans and world music acts. They even told us in e-mails that we need to be ‘family friendly’. Check out the linked web page… wow – 3 hours are you that far north?

Would love to see you if you can make it.

70. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

64 – well OK, I don’t know anything about the Amy Goodman situation except what I saw in the Youtube video, but on the video, a cop says “we told you if you crossed the line you’d be arrested”. So that was spelled out first, apparently.

71. Intermittent Bystander - 1 September 2008

60 – peeder is fat and happy, I think, having transcended blogdom in a sort of Soapblox Rapture. His final, sudden white page, on Aug. 30:

I’d like to thank you for a fun year with me at Political Fleshfeast. I’ve decided to bring the feast to an end, not because of any other reason than a feeling that I’m ready to move onto the post-blogging stage of my life. I’ve learned plenty and really enjoyed myself, but this has become a time-sink for me and I have much more exciting opportunities ahead. (And no, I wouldn’t wish being admin of this site on anyone else!)

While I understand this will create a hole in many of your lives, I think it will be a good exercise to fill that hole with new things. I’m sure you will find an outlet for your political opinions and you will find tolerance for them. I’ve accomplished all the goals I set out for myself with PFF, and now it’s time for me to graduate. I look forward to filling my time with more atoms than bits.

About seven years ago, I finally found my ideal restaurant, just a mile away. The chef was a true genius, and the place was bustling. One day, he showed up in the morning and locked the door. I never heard what happened to him, but I’m sure he’s OK. The restaurant won the “Best of the Bay Area” award posthumously…the only time that has ever happened.

What did this do for me? After the five stages of grieving and hunger, I resolved to learn how to cook just as well as that chef, so that could never be taken away from me again. Merely four years later, I was entertaining the editors of major food magazines right in my house.
May you feast every bit as well. =)

Love,
peeder

#68 CSTAR Isn’t it sad that the bar is set that low?

75. NYCee - 1 September 2008

#68 – Funny, because I believe Campbell Brown, who went after — god, these names — Tucker Bounds (in a manner not yet wholly Paxmanesque, but not bad) is married to a rather neoconnish former member of the Bush admin, a Mr Dan Senior/Senor/something.

Ever-uh-thing is so topsuh turvuh!

Of course he has been, at times a stay at home dad. But lets not go there.

61, MCat – Sully is a piece of work. The article he wrote on the glories of testosterone – for the NYT Mag several years ago – was a priceless example of gay male misogyny.

62 – yeah that’s a fascinating angle: 1. first attack women candidates because of their femaleness/family stuff, and 2. act like the mother is responsible for all the problems in the family.

Typical Catholic. Or, Evangelical – or pick any of the several primitive religions that blame women for everything.

83. lucid - 1 September 2008

IB – was just watching a classic Star Trek Next Gen this evening in which quantum physics theories, taken quite out of context by sci-fi hollywood writers resulted in a scenario whereby the reality of every action by every individual appeared as alternate ‘quantum realities’. So, say had we gone down the same path as the Greek aristocracy today – and only that, what would our reality look like type of shit… funny thing is, it doesn’t look that different than our own.

84. NYCee - 1 September 2008

# 74 The bar is on the ground. I’m glad somebody walked over it.

This is like Bunuel’s Exterminating angel

Wel, of course there are material reasons why people don’t walk over the bar. I shouldn’t kid myself.

What kills me is that Biden was called from Central Casting to play the Great White (haired) Senatorial Sage on foreign policy, who will school Obama on the ways of the wild wild world… One can only hope Obama will learn that if he says up you go down, go left means go right, etc. Get him out of the way, good lawd a mighty… Send him off on a series of dramatically hyped faux “imperative” missions where he can jaw some poor foreign minister or leader to death and do no harm. Keep him occupied… outside the realm of influence.

Sully’s ONLY liberality is SSM. Nothing else. A little Thatcherite, Tory born baby. OH and submissive love of Ob.

My own guess is he is allowed to rise as they have enough on him to yank the chain at any moment. Not a rare condition in media, imo.

Sort of the House Gay. It gets OLD.

91. Intermittent Bystander - 1 September 2008

the reality of every action by every individual appeared as alternate ‘quantum realities’. So, say had we gone down the same path as the Greek aristocracy today – and only that, what would our reality look like type of shit… funny thing is, it doesn’t look that different than our own.

Thanks lucid! That’s more or less what I intuited, until I went to Wikipedia and confused myself with jargon.

Biden is alreayd ducking out of appearances early and dropping pages of speeches… whcih are nto that long (he intros Ob). Forget which site reported it. Maybe Ben SMiith.

90 – Unable to force myself to click on your earlier Sully link, I’m still having trouble believing HeatherRose’s quote at #56 is verbatim.

For real?

94. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

69- lucid, we are much further north and east, about 1.5 hours west of Portland Maine. But we’ll see if we can make it. Peter would love it.

72/77, MCat – well I have no idea what the husband’s 22-year-old DUI has to do with anything. If this is the kind of scrutiny national candidates have to go through, then we are really in trouble. How would the Founding Fathers look examined under a microscope?

Re: Biden – I hadn’t known about those tidbits. He always made my skin crawl, and the more I hear about him, the more he revolts me.

UPDATE: email just in – Democracy Now arrests:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 1, 2008

Contact:
Mike Burke: mike@democracynow.org

**UPDATE**

Democracy Now!’s Amy Goodman, Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar
Released After Illegal Arrest at RNC

Goodman Charged with Obstruction; Felony Riot Charges Pending Against Kouddous and Salazar

ST. PAUL–Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman and producers Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar have all been released from police custody in St. Paul following their illegal arrest by Minneapolis Police on Monday afternoon.

All three were violently manhandled by law enforcement officers. Abdel Kouddous was slammed against a wall and the ground, leaving his arms scraped and bloodied. He sustained other injuries to his chest and back. Salazar’s violent arrest by baton-wielding officers, during which she was slammed to the ground while yelling, “I’m Press! Press!,” resulted in her nose bleeding, as well as causing facial pain. Goodman’s arm was violently yanked by police as she was arrested.

On Tuesday, Democracy Now! will broadcast video of these arrests, as well as the broader police action. These will also be available on: http://www.democracynow.org

Goodman was arrested while questioning police about the unlawful detention of Kouddous and Salazar who were arrested while they carried out their journalistic duties in covering street demonstrations at the Republican National Convention. Goodman’s crime appears to have been
defending her colleagues and the freedom of the press.

Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher told Democracy Now! that Kouddous and Salazar were arrested on suspicion of rioting, a felony. While the three have been released, they all still face charges stemming from their
unlawful arrest. Kouddous and Salazar face pending charges of suspicion of felony riot, while Goodman has been officially charged with obstruction of a legal process and interference with a “peace officer.”

Democracy Now! forcefully rejects all of these charges as false and an attempt at intimidation of these journalists. We demand that the charges be immediately and completely dropped.

Democracy Now! stands by Goodman, Kouddous and Salazar and condemns this action by Twin Cities’ law enforcement as a clear violation of the freedom of the press and the First Amendment rights of these journalists.

During the demonstration in which the Democracy Now! team was arrested, law enforcement officers used pepper spray, rubber bullets, concussion grenades and excessive force against protesters and journalists. Several dozen demonstrators were also arrested during this action, including a photographer for the Associated Press.

Amy Goodman is one of the most well-known and well-respected journalists in the United States. She has received journalism’s top honors for her reporting and has a distinguished reputation of bravery and courage. The arrest of Goodman, Kouddous and Salazar and the subsequent criminal charges and threat of charges are a transparent attempt to intimidate journalists.

Democracy Now! is a nationally-syndicated public TV and radio program that airs on over 700 radio and TV stations across the US and the globe.

# 56 # 93 Looks like an issue of this election might be about “down there” (and I don’t mean Colombia). Well, that’s a start..

97. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

93 – sorry, I thought the Sully blog entry had already been quoted and discussed. In case anyone missed it, here’s the link and the quote (I hope I can get these nested quote things right):

A reader points out what is left implicit in the Palins’ statement:
I’m not sure how to say this politely, but if Bristol Palin is more than three and a half months’ pregnant, it is physically impossible for her to have given birth on the 18th of April to Trig.

I know with “about five months” it’s difficult to be certain what they mean, which is why most doctors talk in weeks. But basically a pregnancy is calculated as 40 weeks, and is dated from the previous period so for the first two weeks of the ‘pregnancy’ one is not actually pregnant.

Women tend to take at least six weeks to start ovulating again, and often several months. Say Bristol is very young and made a medically exceptional recovery – the very very earliest she could have become pregnant ‘again’ would be from mid May, which would put her at three and a half months pregnant.

But it’s based entirely on a vague verbal statement. Why not kill this rumor with Palin’s medical records? A 43 year old woman’s pregnancy with a Downs Syndrome child would have been intensely monitored, and the records must be a mile long. Just release them, ok? If necessary in a closed room for reporters, just as with McCain. And we can all breathe a sigh of relief and move on.

98. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

Dang, I still can’t get the nested thing straight. My apologies. Anyway just go and read it via the link.

99. lucid - 1 September 2008

HRH – up off 91 towards Canada? I guess I just sort of squish all the states up there in terms of area in my head [not every state is Rhode Island]… NH does go really long toward the north. Wish we’d gotten a slot at the Keene Festival – would have been somewhat closer… But hey, if you can make it, great. I’m sure it will be entertaining…

K

100. Intermittent Bystander - 1 September 2008

It’s very important for Sully to breathe a sigh of relief.

MCat at 61 – Maybe Palin will fork over the gyn notes if Sully agrees to “come clean” about the classifieds.

101. marisacat - 1 September 2008

HRRyan

I ihad put up a link to 1976 legislation in congress… will find it again. Biden approved of it, Leahy signed off Kennedy as well. “Person” hood game. I am surprised they did not go with it.. the catholic and conservative cabal just run it all. Abortion useful to browbeat the woment to vote Dem. About it. Oh and fundraise.

Will dredge it up again.

and then there is the school of insistacne both babies, born and in utero are “Bristol the Pistol”. Cries of Have you seen SP actually NURSE that baby??

If all of this is true and SP pulled it off, at all, she DESERVES to be VP.

Who cares.

May they all congeal. LOL

103. marisacat - 1 September 2008

LOL Think Ob did not sent the Fax to pull back on the Palin famille

It is moving to the 10th or so hour on KGO. Screams of “Bristol the Pistol” is Fair Game.

This is DEMOCRTIC talk radio and it has gone to insanity.

May they have aneuryisms from the stress of screaming. Dangeorus ground now: “How dare they not let her have an abortion”

hmm Choice anyone?

“She is not a moral mother”.

104. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

102- Where is this “nursing” thing coming from? Are they really that insane?

If all of this is true and SP pulled it off, at all, she DESERVES to be VP.

Oh I agree. If so, she deserves to be PRESIDENT.

I love the comments about “how can she negotiate with Muslims? With Putin?” etc. Yeah, as if they all give a shit about American politicians’ children getting knocked up. What a howl.

106. marisacat - 1 September 2008

104

well I am guessing there are suggestions going out via FAX as threads and Democratic talk radio (KGO, local here, supports the SF machine and really screaming now) are all on message. Message is UGLY.

107. Heather-Rose Ryan - 1 September 2008

103- Oh no thank you, Mcat, I never listen to “talk radio” of any stripe – they are all morons.

I don’t even listen to NPR anymore. Garrison Keillor, plus dreary Ira Glass and his multitudinous imitators, gave me hives.

I was fortunate enough on my most recent vacation to find a Rhode Island-based classical radio station that I like:

http://www.classical959.com/

Their music is middle-of-the-road, and their news is short and focused on local. Something about local things, the school board, etc. but very little national (i.e., bullshit fearmongering agitprop) news. I was listening to it for two weeks and never heard a word about the political conventions or Hurricane Gustav.

108. marisacat - 1 September 2008

oh we have classical and excellent jazz stations.. as well.

I tuned into local talk radio over the course of hte primary to see what is “out there”. Basically it s Dem whip work, but at least the callers can enunciate. Unlike call in to Cpsan.. which is very embarrassing in terms of ability to speak with any fluency.

I likie ot hear what is swirling near the drains. at times.

109. marisacat - 1 September 2008

well I give KGO this, they have spent 5 hurs between 3 hosts on the horrific HHS plans under BUsh, likely to signed into existance under EO.

moiv first emailed me in June when the drafts were leaked… and local print media and KGO has kept it updated.

I use them for local news during the day as well.

I was not recommending them to anyone, but I try ot provide links, as much of a bother as it is, if I mention something.
