Mo Betta’s RIP

Last diary he appeared in.. for some three days running. Honestly, he seems tame, tired shit that he always was.  Scum too. Lying shit. Manipulator. Operative. Dumb shit. Etc.

My guess, in the fine tradition of Armando Fernando Big Tentola, he will re-appear somewhere. He needs the lousy facelessness of the Net and he needs astroturf work… low level Donald Segretti wanna-be.  (No JD degree however, Donald had one of those … no university nor college degree either, which would not matter but for the screwed sphincter that he was)

Operative. Entertaining that the measly low life shit kickers kick out a shit.

🙄 I stayed mild.

Moved this one from BHHM forward:

I bet they’re all fighting behind the scenes for money.
WaPo’s piece today about how the recession hitting K Street billings FFS. No doubt the billings are down, less of a need for High Priced Retainers when things are brokered in an ever shrinking ring at the top…

But Jeezis. These small potato shills? Dime a dozen in Politics.
Not to mention the reliance on Trustfundarian kids who’ll work for free to get a resume builder. Meanwhile, The rank and file faithful are broke, the patronage of middling lawyers has dried up for such fluff, as they are looking out for themselves, many of whom have also been cut loose. While the unions have enough of their own problems in the unemployment and money crunch. And the Dem state machines are on the run in Jersey PA Virginia..
Other than that, things ARE FINE. LOL.

No, Dana and all these types have a real mid life crisis on their hands.

Which brings out the UGLY.

I know he was going to work for Tinklenberg… (12+ / 0-)

until the congressman dropped out* and I’m sure he’s looking for another campaign to manage.

Wouldn’t it be interesting if one of them turned out to be on your list of wavering congressmen?

Now THAT would be a conflict of interest.

*It’s a shame Tinklenberg didn’t stay in and retire Bachmann-I’m sure Dana’s aggression would have been put to good use.

All this speculation and insinuation, and not a scintilla of effort on your part to actually find out a fact.

If you sign on to manage the campaign of a congresscritter who has been targeted by this diarist or FDL then we’ll have a problem.

Time will tell, Dana.

LOL – “You are stupid” is about two steps up from the arguments he used to launch against me, the Rescue gang, and everyone else. “Do you know how to read?” etc.

Thanks so much, I am vastly entertained. I have extended an invite to AH to come and work on Doc Hastings’ campaign. They work on very much the same level of intellectual rigor mortis. It would be a dream come true if he could do for Hastings what he did for Tinklenburg and DKos.

marisacat - 6 September 2009

i stayed away from him… one of our few tangles was in a massive three or four day thread over Abu Graib in the summer of 2004. Tho I suspect it was he behind a 5 hour attack at Liberal Street Fighter in Nov of 2004.

Low level operative, but they create a lot of havoc.

You’re an Asshole (0+ / 0-)

I don’t care what you think you’re accomplishing, when you treat disagreement by attacking the mental health of someone who challenges you, you’ve debased yourself and shown yourself to be a petty, insecure person who cheapens mental illness by invoking it to protect you from disagreement and you’ve medicalized disagreement by equating disagreement with organic or medical problems with people with whom you disagree.

You should be ashamed.

Surge in Homeless Pupils Strains Schools

While current national data are not available, the number of schoolchildren in homeless families appears to have risen by 75 percent to 100 percent in many districts over the last two years, according to Barbara Duffield, policy director of the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth, an advocacy group.

There were 679,000 homeless students reported in 2006-7, a total that surpassed one million by last spring, Ms. Duffield said.

With schools just returning to session, initial reports point to further rises. In San Antonio, for example, the district has enrolled 1,000 homeless students in the first two weeks of school, twice as many as at the same point last year.

“It’s hard enough going to school and growing up, but these kids also have to worry where they’ll be staying that night and whether they’ll eat,” said Bill Murdock, chief executive of Eblen-Kimmel Charities, a private group in Asheville that helps needy families with anything from food baskets and money for utility bills to toiletries and a prom dress.

“We see 8-year-olds telling Mom not to worry, don’t cry,” Mr. Murdock said.

Since 2001, federal law has required every district to appoint a liaison to the homeless, charged with identifying and aiding families who meet a broad definition of homelessness — doubling up in the homes of relatives or friends or sleeping in motels or RV campgrounds as well as living in cars, shelters or on the streets. A small minority of districts, including Buncombe County, have used federal grants or local money to make the position full time.

The law lays out rights for homeless children, including immediate school placement without proof of residence and a right to stay in the same school as the family is displaced. Providing transportation to the original school is an expensive logistical challenge in a huge district like Buncombe County, covering 700 square miles.

While the law’s goals are widely praised, school superintendents lament that Congress has provided little money, adding to the fiscal woes of districts. “The protections are important, but Congress has passed the cost to state and local taxpayers,” said Bruce Hunter, associate director of the American Association of School Administrators.

New Japanese Leadership Causes Discomfort in the U.S.

In an astonishingly strong op-ed penned for the New York Times on the eve of his victory, Hatoyama savaged “market fundamentalism” for the current parlous state of the Japanese economy.

“In the fundamentalist pursuit of capitalism, people are treated not as an end but as a means,” he wrote. “Consequently, human dignity is lost.”

Hatoyama asked, “How can we put an end to unrestrained market fundamentalism and financial capitalism, that are void of morals or moderation, in order to protect the finances and livelihoods of our citizens?” For an answer, he turned to the French Revolution and its ideals of fraternity, liberty, and equality.

Hatoyama’s indication that he won’t bow at the altar of the market has caused apprehension. Western apologists cannot figure out why the Japanese people rejected the free-market turn initiated by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi, an Elvis-loving hipster adored abroad.

“Japan is now more reluctant than ever to use market forces to raise productivity,” a New York Times reporter quoted a Britisher at an Australian securities firm (with no counterargument offered). “But these changes are crucial.”

In addition, Hatoyama has challenged—in his op-ed and otherwise—the U.S.-Japan military partnership, suggesting that Japan will reorient itself toward its Asian neighbors.

…suggesting that Japan will reorient itself toward its Asian neighbors.

The screaming in DC will be heard round the world. What an interesting wrinkle.

Shouldn’t Ob have been able to head this off? (I can hear the wingers now, We lost Japan on his watch!!)

Madman in the Marketplace - 6 September 2009

I found it to be very interesting

wu ming - 7 September 2009

it’s a thoughtful piece. no doubt the american response to that line with be freakout city, but hatoyama is putting forth the only proposal i’ve seen that stands a chance of actually calming the long cold war in the region, assuming it doesn’t just enable a pax sinica to replace the pax americana (and yes, both are meant cynically).

i hope he succeeds.

Dana Houle Joins Entenza Team

16:38PM on August 17 2009

Experienced Political Pro to Manage DFL Gubernatorial Campaign

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Matt Entenza’s campaign for governor has hired Dana Houle as manager.

Houle, who first came to Minnesota to work on Elwyn Tinklenberg’s campaign in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District, joins Entenza’s campaign effective today.

He brings with him a strong background winning challenging campaigns, working with organized labor and directing policy for politicians on the state and federal level.

Notably, Houle managed Rep. Paul Hodes’s 2006 victory over Republican incumbent Charlie Bass and Rep. Jim Himes’s 2008 victory over Republican incumbent Chris Shays. He also served on Capitol Hill as Hodes’s chief of staff.

Additionally, Houle has been a contributing editor to premier online political community DailyKos (www.dailykos.com) since 2003. He is on leave from this position while he manages the Entenza campaign.

“I’m very happy to be able to stay in Minnesota and help Matt earn the DFL endorsement and then win next November,” Houle said. “I’m ecstatic to be able to work with someone who’s a great candidate and will be a great governor.” . . . . . . . . .

artemis54 - 6 September 2009

Entenza, we hardly knew ya.

How hard is it to dredge up AH’s comments and use them against Entenza? Association with this lunatic could sink Jesus Christ.

Not that I have the time for such shenanigans, but plenty of people do,

Or he got run out. Or they had him straightjacketed , committed, and sent to the Booby Hatch.
Whatever! ~ Welcome Aboard, Dana!

Etenza is toast, BTW. Admittedly it’s a call from way over here in the cheap seats in Jersey…
But Etenza got plum fuck run OUT of the 2006 DFL Primary for Attorney General for INTRAPARTY Ratfucking. Typical, as is the attraction for Houle and vice versa. Hard to see how DFL’ers will carry his banner with any enthusiasm, tho…Prolly some play for a spoilers role. Some juice tho…His wife was a Hil girl on Bill’s 93 Health Care Reform Task Force…So close! Missed it by THAT much!

But it’s the field will crush them out…Jesus Christ-

And then there’s Etenza. With Houle.

I followed that photo link and just want to make the observation that what I was struck with was how fucking old everyone was in the pix. Like NN has been taken over by old hippies. I suppose the the photog was also a boomer and therefore didnt bother to photograph anyone else

marisacat - 6 September 2009

why on earth would young people be drawn to a site based on election gang banging?

I promise you, that crowd is not old hippies.

artemis54 - 6 September 2009

As an old – and I’m talking fucking old – hippie, I take great exception and great offence to this remark.

Dana Houle to manage Matt Entenza’s campaign

by: Populista

Mon Aug 17, 2009 at 15:34:52 PM CDT

Dana Houle is one of the best campaign managers in Democratic Party politics right now. He’s knocked off two House Republicans in a row and was hired as El Tinklenberg’s campaign manager before he dropped out of the race.

Well now he has officially been hired as Matt Entenza’s campaign manger. This is a very good get by the Entenza campaign. Dana is whip smart and will be a relentless advocate for the Entenza campaign. He doesn’t have a record in DFL politics and so that’s obviously a disadvantage but Dana is a quick learner and can adapt to whatever political climate he’s put in. Campaign’s presser below the fold.

BooHooHooMan - 6 September 2009

It’s funny ,
as blogger “Populista” is , literally, 15 years old.
He is the newww kid running the Aw That’s Cute scam on DK,. LOL I think there was a different kid who was hated Hated HATED by Democratic Luntz for getting similar attention…

I forget which one, but I can remember the once pubescent Hasbara Boy on the Leftwho is now 21? – 22? ..coming unglued as Maternal Breasts were offered to other young sucklings. LOL. Ah well.
There’s always Elise for Jacob Alperin Sheriff /Democratic Luntz, a kid known to have blogged night after night in his dorm room, undistracted by veritable coed orgies around him. LOL. DavefromQueens (RIP) , in his Classic Treatise, called him a “50 Year Old Virgin in the making.”

Whoops .. off on a tangent here with the Luntz bash…but what the hell….This too shall pass.. I see he now has grown his first, spotty,
Yes I am A Man Beard.
LOL.

Houle DOES like to groom him some young males, tho. Maybe he learned it from Step-Daddy who evidently read to young Dana.
And Not a whole lot of reading comprehension took place evidently…So there’s somethin there with Dana as Pivot Manamidst these male bonding issues. Houle and his older stable of Donkey dicks seem utterly incapable of enjoying the company of women…
No doubt, DFQ had them cold. The She-weirdos , too. LOL.

Anyways…From the end of that Minnesota Public Radio piece on
Etenza’s ratfucking during the 2006 MN AG’s race…..

Johnson { GOP AG Candi at the time- BHHM}
has also questioned whether Entenza could oversee the state’s health care industry as attorney general, when Entenza’s wife Lois Quam is a top executive with UnitedHealth Group. Quam is the CEO of a company subsidiary.

Entenza says he would turn over decisions on cases involving UnitedHealth Group to top attorneys in the office, and he challenged Johnson to release his client list as an attorney in private practice.

Hatch {DFL AG} has laid low since the story broke. But he said in a statement that after being investigated by big HMOs like HealthPartners and Allina, any investigation of him by a public official would be “of absolutely no concern” to him.

So Dana is going with the regional Clintonite HMO shill in the race…
He’s a car hump gigolo. With a turtleneck .

11. marisacat - 6 September 2009

HA! July 31

Houle was recommended to Tinklenberg by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. With Democrats defending 49 House seats in districts that John McCain carried in 2008, Democrats will undoubtedly pick their takeover targets carefully.

But Houle is convinced that Tinklenberg will have sufficient financial resources to defeat Bachmann.

Of course Twinkledinks dropped out the following week. Some reports indicate: lack of funds raised.

😳

Welp.This is interesting.
Harvey Rosenfeld has “gone after” UHG in California…
Nice Play, I say…Harvey.

Because From Todays FP at that MN Pwog site,
the MN “Progressive Project”,
Somebody’s there is takin a nice sized , custom made dump on Houles Patron, Etenza , with the wif at United Health Group. ..With Rosenfelds ConsumerWatchdog org as the vehicle….
Poor Dana! The Netroots Welcome AND the Faux Activist Support from Silicon Valley Gone! Out on the hustings expired! They going with another Corp Shill!

Anyways…The story about UHG has made its way into the LA Times referencing a complaint filed with Jerry Brown’s Office to look into UHG pushing employees to teabag the Healthcare Rallies…

The Shill on Shill Violence is So Sad. Rosenfeld been doin the Nader- lite Reform Hustle since 1985. God he’s milked his creds as a staffer…Backed Poizner as CA Insurance Commish not that Bustamante was worth a shit. Again, my take from the cheap seats here in the East.

Now Poizner is going to try and buy the CA Governors race, thanks to the Big Brother Fortune made in Silicon Valley..before it went… well…

Where was Rosenfeld and his Consumer WatchPoodles during Enron?
This is HIS boy, Poizner….After the boilerplate Enviro Friendly and Energy Independence fluff… ……on the economy…

What is the impediment to continuing innovation?

I know how venture capitalists think. In the global economy, money moves in a nanosecond to maximize returns. Business people and investors can run the numbers to see what works. What they can’t deal with – what drives them completely bonkers and out of state – is when the regulatory structure can’t give them an answer in a reasonable amount of time. The red tape and the ambiguity and the burdensome regulations create this uncertainty. You want to build a power plant in this state? Forget it. You want to build manufacturing? You’re not going to get permitting in a reasonable amount of time. You can’t build a business plan around that uncertainty. That’s caused a maximum amount of exodus.

What would you do to keep them (businesses) here?

Let’s use Google as an example. Their server farms are not in California. Why is that? Well, electricity costs 30 percent higher … because we can’t build power plants in California. We import 30 percent of our electricity from dirty, coal-burning plants in the Midwest.

The fact is we’re in an intense global economy. … The Chinese are increasingly aggressive, smart, bright, innovative people, and they are going to flatten us. And so is India and other states. Whether you like it or not, we all have to get together and decide how are we going to get Google’s server farms in California, how we are going to get Intel to build a chip plant in California, how we’re going to get AAA to not move their call centers out of California.

Are you going to sign a no-new-taxes pledge?

I might. This state is already one of the highest tax states in the country. The idea of raising taxes is a failure in determination and a failure in leadership…..Blah Blah Blah….

Rosenfeld is doing a service for Somebody in that MN Gov Race..Whoever it is, it isn’t Houle’s Boss.

marisacat - 7 September 2009

Sorry! you languished in spam file! 😳

Out now!

marisacat - 7 September 2009

hmm I will be really surprised if Poizner makes it…
