We’re headed into a week of heat, they tell us… one night was so chilly I got up and found an extra blanket.. and the next day, Thursday, the heat surged. A bit of breeze just now at 2 AM… and some cooling Saturday day (they say) but not to last. The heat is upon us…
And I am pretty much down for the count. I ordered ooodles of ice cream, in preparation.
Jeezis Christ.
Some push afoot to push the fear meme.
Two asinine pieces up at DK.
This one, Till Death Do Us Part
fast tracked to their recommended reading list.
A real clusterfuck with The Assasination meme in a Bobby Kennedy/ Ob/ King of Jordan/Mid East Peace Developments (or not!) GUMBO.
That guys writing makes mine look positively focused.
And this …one …whatever the fuck it is..
for scared wittle wabbits on the woe’d-ways..
They’re now afraid to get behind the wheel.
Quite the match for the NeoCons and Banksters who rule the road.
Boo! Liar!
Ahhhhh!
God forbid they drive in Jersey.
And I hope they medicate on Halloween. Jeezis. Imagine what kind of damage a 5 year old in a Caspar costume could do…
One other observation about Rahm and Axelrod putting their Horse through the paces.. Ob blanketing the airwaves….
It Upstages protests in DC scheduled this weekend , no?
The Town Hall of Town Halls as it was promoted…
Cuts into 40 talking heads talkin about how WEAK Ob is,
cuts into the punditry who might notice there is real division, real discontent , and they ain’t happy to be Ob People no mo.
I’ll be lookin for a ball game this afternoon.
I’m out. Done. In. Thinkin Ham and Swiss for a late lunch.
well… but who is listening? Last Prime time speech with q and a, Fox ran some cheekily named movie (how racist of them) and pulled bigger numbers.
I’d like to think there was a president… let’s be blunt, they are not in charge, never in charge. it’s a cohort… probably always has been. Competing interests, internal wars and battles, pots of gold, etc… the corps, the def industry, etc.
But I’d like to think in the nightmare pass we are at, the Pretzel had a real seat at the table.
I won’t kid myself, Ob does not have a seat at the table. he is the front man. Different personality type than GWBush… but, same deal.
Sorry to be rude. I realise he is God on Earth and our Magical Foundling. Whom we must pray for and throw ourselves in front of the bullets, to save him, so he can save us. or some such tawdry gibberdrool.
But! No seat at the table.
Let us pray!
SO relieved it was at random. What WOULD we have done?
Lordy.
The White House press office chose the order of the interviews at random — scrambling slips of paper on a desk and picking the names to draw up a list Thursday afternoon. Starting at 3:30 p.m. Friday, the hosts began rotating in and out of the room with Obama in this order: CBS, NBC, ABC, Univision, CNN.

OH PUHLEEZE… this is what we are down to. The talent is to manage the Ginsburg. We are even lower than I had thought.
5 15 minute interviews, with 5 mins in between for the questioner to take the vacated chair.
This is progress?
what a bunch of clowns.
HA! Salon has a piece on a rightie mentor of Glenn Beck. 😆 Read a certain way… it is hysterically funny!
Red menace monger, anti commie, FBI guy (clerical they say!) Mormon… a Bircher too.
Hilarious.
LAT on ACORN.
I am reminded of when the so called online Left bellowed that they (mostly Dkos and FDL) had brought down Domenech, from Red State, stopped from taking a spot at Wapo (who had ever heard of him, baby operative? Who cared?). My, but they preened. Meanwhile the Right had bagged Eason of CNN and Dan Rather.
Clap Clap clap. Ooops… don’t think Tinkerbell or Peter Pan or whoever we clapped for is getting up!
The head of ACORN in SF was on KGO yesterday and did really badly.
None of this is going to go well.
BTW, if anyone can stand it, FOX is filling the hole of not having Obster on Sunday by having the national head of ACORN on with Darrell Issa, R of California.
Good Luck!
NYDN
Paterson puts 30 day hold on state funding for ACORN. Sad because it is peanuts, 400,000.
My impression, since the votes to defund in the House and Senate were tacked onto other bills… how they weather this period, they *could* get the federal funding back. But Democrats have fallen like flies and R are pretty frisky.
The yoke of federal state funding is a mess imo. Hell they even did it to Coretta Scott King. The so called King Foundation was tethered to Federal money. They kept her on a leash. And i think she had the capacity to be a leader and not just an icon.
And the kids are a fucking mess.
Tried and true pattern. Over and over, it wins.
Dmitry Orlov in fine form…
Caution, White People
Complete with impious commentary on Israel, Obama’s ethnicity (yes, he goes there), and the general pointlessness of U.S. politics.
well as Chris Hedges pointed out, they are out on the streets (such as it is) and the so called left is in various levels of contained and “civil” frustration, cleaving (such as it is) to The One in the WH.
it ain’t working, but Ob shall limp on.
hahahah. Edwards. Thinking about claiming that kid, but it is just so tough, you know.
FWIW… which is not much.

They were very, very loud.
via Haaretz-
U.S. calls UN report on Gaza war unfair to Israel
yes… Rice.. the NEW one, is veryhot to protect Israel… It seems.
… and from all I have read Gregory Meeks is corporate dirty as all hell. I’d call his closeness with the Ob WH a natural love affair.

Village Voice has some extra tids.
Sure is a yappy bunch.
Paterson has been toast for a while, but I sure hope he doesn’t go quietly. The problem, of course, is NY’s very late primary. If it weren’t for that, the primary process would cleanly take care of things.
That said, Obama’s interference in NY state politics is deeply objectionable on an emotional level for me. And if I (a nominal Democrat) feel that way, just watch all those heretofore sleeping upstate Republicans get pissed. Obama is coming to Malta (near Albany) for a ceremonial visit. Should be interesting to see what happens. Well, as interesting as watching dogs fight over garbage scraps would be, I guess.
yeah Paterson’s numbers have been sliding downward for some time. For whatever set of reasons.
Well they interfered in MA as well… and I see it returned to the Leg who decided Patrick can do it the old way and pick an interim senator.
So it goes.
Well, as interesting as watching dogs fight over garbage scraps would be, I guess.
Yup.
Well, as an upstater I am inclined to thumb my nose at Obama’s rumored displeasure with Paterson’s choice of Kirsten Gillibrand over Caroline Kennedy. I can’t help hoping Paterson goes out guns blazing. Wish he’d uncork that tongue of his on his way out. Deval Patrick he ain’t.
NY’s Dems brought this on themselves. It all goes back to why Spitzer was even elected in the first place. The old edifices have been crumbling for some time, and they had to give way to a popular choice who in many ways, really wasn’t one of them. The situation has been out of control for years, but it’s been quiet and not noticeable until the last couple years, now the pieces are all starting to fall apart – add the slow death of NYC’s financial industry into the mix and you have a falling tower (if you pardon the metaphor).
Mirror to California on the other side of the country.
It would be hard to find a less fit person for the senate (not that it matters) than Camelotta displayed herself to be.Zero real involvement with politics her entire adult life, no donations other than a single one, no real itnerests other than some vague job to do with the schools that it came out she never showed up for… her office was dusty. She had barely voted as I recall and for a supposed dedicated Democrat had hardly bothered with voting in primaries. Similar points always told me Edwards was a lousy dud as well (as he rises in the news, such as it is again)
the CK-S enterprise was a lame joke. That thankfully died.
hmm Not sure “acerbic” is just the right word.
AND there is the SC ruling to come as well, rising from the Hillary movie.
We are so blessed.
