No… it’s a bird! Starlings over Kosovo, a place that haunts, especially as the wars grind on.

Think it was ABC national news tonight, a segment on Obama, asking dully which is what dullards will be:

“Is he up to the job?”, “Is he tough enough?”

Even as media rhetoric, I mean, jesus! They have to ask?

Just today, the parade of Chicago Mayberry non-Machiavellis was appalling. Rahm, Axelrod, Valerie Jarrett (with special appearance by Robert Gibbs tomorrow).

A snaggle of gaffes, bumbles and stammering pauses.

What is more pointed, ABC news followed the Obama segment with a segment on Benny Hinn. A LONGER segment on Hinn: Is he real? Does he heal?

So appropriate.

A new Field Poll shows she’s unpopular in her home state as well. Only 34% of Californians approve if her job performance — including just 51% of Democrats.

A Maryland scientist has been charged with attempting to give top-secret information to Israel, federal prosecutors said Monday.

Stewart D. Nozette, 52, of Chevy Chase was arrested Monday on a charge of attempted espionage and is being held pending an initial appearance Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Washington, authorities said.

Nozette, who holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, worked for the Energy Department’s Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from 1990 through 1999, prosecutors said.

He was also president of the Alliance for Competitive Technology, a nonprofit group he founded in 1990. From 2000 through 2006, he had contracts with the U.S. government to provide it with advanced technology. From 1989 through 2006, he held security clearances as high as top secret and had regular access to classified information, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said he was contacted Sept. 3 by an undercover FBI agent pretending to be an Israeli intelligence officer. That day, Nozette met the agent and discussed his willingness to give Israel classified material. He said he would turn over such information in exchange for money, prosecutors said.

Now why on Earth would he think that Israel, our friend, would ever be interested in breaching US National Security? LOL. From The way the WaPo piece is written, it’s unclear if Israel was actually involved.

This si a couple blocks west of me:

Along Scott Street on Pacific Heights, the rainwater came so fast that storm drains could not handle the deluge. Manhole covers lifted along the steep street as rainwater flooded out.

I must have totally believed the weather man, as I picked today to wash pillow cases and use the indoor line on the porch… which got a 3 inch flood in one corner.

Diocese of Wilmington files for bankruptcy

With the first in a series of major sex abuse trials set to start Monday, the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington filed for bankruptcy late Sunday after settlement talks with 13 alleged victims broke down.

The diocese, which includes Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is the seventh to file for bankruptcy in recent years under the weight of claims of sex abuse against priests, and the first on the East Coast.

Diocesan officials portrayed the filing as a way to fairly compensate all victims of its abusive priests through a single process established by the bankruptcy court. The bankruptcy filing in Wilmington automatically delays the start of the sex abuse trials.

“This is the best path to having fair treatment of all those who have been hurt by our priests over the years,” said diocesan spokesman Robert Krebs.
