BHHM comment from end of the last thread… :

More from Hitler in the Bunker Night on DK:

Public Option Will Happen! Now, let’s talk Mid Term Elections

And …em….ah…….this one.

Capture Bin Laden and change the game

by Jamesleo

Ok, most of you don’t know what the hell I am talking about. I beg your indulgence and I will explain:

* Jamesleo’s diary :: ::

We have been focusing on the economy and what has not or what has worked. I think we can all agree that the Stimulus was insufficient (thank you Dr. Paul Krugman you were right all along) in creating new jobs and being a “rising tide that lifted all boats. What do progressives do.
While this has been going on, we have had some incredible success in Afghanistan. Every day, a new Al Queda stronghold is overtaken and a new leader captured. One of them surely must know Bin Laden.
Find him, cpature him, if he is killed in the process, put his body on display.

Why? We need a game changer and fast.

If this happens, Obama becomes a national hero. He can then go to the American people and make his case for time

“Pleae, we overestimated the extent of the crisis”. Please give us time. With the same zeal and commitment that I captured this terrorist, I will fix the economy, pleas trust me.”

The Glen Beck’s will be stopped in their tracks. I can see the Sunday news programs, John Boehner, Mitch McConnel would be gasping Ha–di—hammid whatever. This cold buy us time in 2010.

Folks: I can think of no other tactic save a miracle in the job market. Even if the market added 90,000 jobs a month it would be way insufficient. We need a game changer and we need one fast.
If I am wrong, please correct. And please don’t give me that 9/11 was an inside job paranoia. That makes as much sense as Obama being a Muslim or a foreign born citizen.

So “Progressive.”

So different from Bush supporters and Republicans.

😯

So very VERY fucked up.

CSTAR - 21 February 2010

Um… you could volunteer to pretend you’re Bin Laden and get yourself blown away by a drone.

marisacat - 21 February 2010

I did not notice anyone in the pundit or poltical chat throngs mention it despite how obviouis it was…, but I think desperation for a “game changer”, and possibly coming from the very top, is what led to the horrific CIA mess with the intel offering at the base camp. What a bloody mess.

It has to hve crossed the collective mind of the numbskulls in the WH that if they could capture or kill bin Laden………. what a coup.

catnip - 21 February 2010

This sounds like a job for Rahmbo.

marisacat - 21 February 2010

😆

Maybe the West Wing could hire Stallone. Jsut get it over with………………………

🙄

catnip - 22 February 2010

Is Rocky a Dem? He could team up with Ahnold in that spirit of bipartisanship.

marisacat - 22 February 2010

I think Rocky (Stallone) is just mafia…. 😆 Should work out!

2. marisacat - 22 February 2010

hmmm Apparently Ron Paul embraced the John Birch Society as recently as last year. Not that it matters, CPAC loves them enough, all on their own…

so blessed.

ts - 22 February 2010

Paul is the GOP’s Kucinich. He’s far too earnest and honest to ever land the top job, no matter how popular he is.

marisacat - 22 February 2010

oh see I never saw him that way… itneresting on a couple of things… financial end of things, ths and that… but a fucking nutter.

I keep wishing some interviewer would let him go right over the edge on abortion, they always calm him and bring him back from the edge. He has schooled himself on race, however, no chance of it descending into what he REALLy thinks.

3. catnip - 22 February 2010

Let’s get this meltdown partehstarted: CNN’s Suzanne Malveux just reported that Obamalama’s plan does not have a PO.

catnip - 22 February 2010
BooHooHooMan - 22 February 2010

LMAO. OOPS.

No Rubusto!

BooHooHooMan - 22 February 2010

Plenty of Lame-O , tho.. 😆

marisacat - 22 February 2010

Hysterically funny! All the lib sites promised a PO. In Ob’s plan!

Is this an OOPS?

BooHooHooMan - 22 February 2010

Breaking :

FOOFERVILLE_- Public Option Still Dead
Phantom P.O. Missing in Fresh Crap Casserole Plan Slated for Sellout

BooHooHooMan - 22 February 2010

Villagers Picking Through Poo Pie for Morsels

ts - 22 February 2010

Looks like it still has the mandate – though they’re careful to expunge any mention of it. Nothing new, just more fucking dishonest, if that were possible.

BooHooHooMan - 22 February 2010

All I can say on the New HCR fight…

Where is Tom Harkin? More Harkin!

Harken Harkin! We need more Harkin!

marisacat - 22 February 2010

well, the lib sites sure are not headlining that it has no PO, if they re even reporting it, it is below the fold… ugh I guess I have to pull up the whole text… gah. Don’t wanna do it!

Mandate, no PO………………….

catnip - 22 February 2010

2 wreck list dkos diaries were posted before The Plan™ was released this am so the PO news is added in updates. They’re struggling to eat whatever slivers of meat they can find on the bones of that carcass – including the idea that the feds would actually regulate premium hikes. Right. Like that’s gonna happen.

Last year, Obamalama was all for states’ rights for emission controls:

As President Obama states in the opening of the memorandum:

The Federal Government’s role in promoting the general welfare and guarding individual liberties is critical, but State law and national law often operate concurrently to provide independent safeguards for the public. Throughout our history, State and local governments have frequently protected health, safety, and the environment more aggressively than has the national Government.

Now he wants to override states’ regulatory rights for health insurance? Without expecting major blowback? Is he high?

marisacat - 22 February 2010

well… the Feds (congress) did not limit the interest that banks can charge on credit cards… so why would they limit the premiums…………

gah. What a mess!!

marisacat - 22 February 2010

Here is the bill… via Politico. It loads fast (even on my slow connection)

Pretzel’s Proposal

ts - 22 February 2010

Gah, they don’t even mention the phase in of subsidies, which I assume are still in there. Same crap cake with an extra layer of frosting.

Please please GOP kill this bill.

marisacat - 22 February 2010

As usual the thread at Americablog is far tougher than he is………………. (maybe someday they catch onto Aravosis)

No plan from Obama until the PO begins to look possible, then he lobs out this distraction. He’s just an unregistered insurance lobbyist.

I’m stunned that anyone is falling for this ruse

ts - 22 February 2010

There’s no text that I can see, just a press release.

marisacat - 22 February 2010

Americablog links to several blog reactions, WH.gov “summary” as well as Think Progress which purports to compare House Senate and Pretzel offerings.

I doubt any of the booster blogs is being at all truthful. Aravosis works to sound happy he would only pay 850.00/mo.

GOOD LUCK!

4. BooHooHooMan - 22 February 2010

LOL…The typical…trotting out the apologists.
Or Trooping the Colors…Somethin or other. LOL.

This via HuffPo

UPDATE: 10:15 — Jacob Hacker, the Yale professor credited with original idea of the public option, told HuffPost in an e-mail that he is glad that the president is pushing forward with reform. He said Congress should follow a path he calls “Pass, Pledge, and Promise,” whereby it passes an amended health care reform bill and promises to include a public option at a later date, if it becomes impossible to do immediately. Hacker’s response:

The President should be commended for moving the stalled debate forward. His blueprint improves a number of the weakest elements of the Senate bill, including the subsidies for middle-class Americans receiving coverage through the exchanges and the protections against high cost-sharing under these plans. Notably, …..

Etc. Blah Weak Pathetic etc.

LOL. “Pass, Pledge, Promise”. Who conjures up this Velveeta?
Why not just go with “Pull Pud Profusely” ?

catnip - 22 February 2010

Well, sorry, but if the best you can do is to sit on your ass and just make phone calls on Feb 24 instead of getting out there in the streets, you deserve what you get.

catnip - 22 February 2010

Mind you, if the “lefties” did decide to protest, Rahm would personally be out there manning the sound cannons.

marisacat - 22 February 2010

The thing is, it does not matter what people do. The ONLY thing that might register with the Democrats is horrific losses at the polling booth. And that gets us nowhere as well. Tho I am for CHAOS.. LOL.

The government is unmovable. All there wil ever be is tiny small bandaids sold as splints. They have all sold out, completely, not a shred even left.

catnip - 22 February 2010

I’m predicting an Easter timeline for passage using the resurrection meme. 😉

catnip - 22 February 2010

I see the right is already attacking this new fed regulatory authority as “price controls” a la Nixon. Yeah. That should go over well…

marisacat - 22 February 2010

In the interim we get obesity prayers. I did get a laugh seeing how chubby Huck has gotten to be, off the stump route.

😆 … 🙄 … 😈 … 👿 ….

Yahoooooooooooooooo 👿

Laptop surveillance kid was disciplined when spying authorities mistook candies for pills

According to the lawyer for the family of the boy whose school spied on him at home through a covert webcam application on his laptop, the boy was disciplined for eating candies that bear a passing resemblance to pills.

The Lower Merion School District has admitted that the laptops it distributed to students were configured so that administrators could activate their webcams without alerting the user, but insists that the spying capability was only used to help find stolen laptops.

However, the lawyer for the Robbins family says that their son was called into the vice-principal’s office and confronted with a photo secretly snapped by his laptop’s webcam while he was eating Mike & Ike’s candy, and he was accused of taking drugs.

marisacat - 22 February 2010

oh that is ridiculous.. like the 13 year old whose panties were searched (in Ken Starr thoroughness!) for Ibuprophen. Which frankly she should be able to have, but also DID NOT have.

Since her case went to the SC thsi Merion School District should be penalised, punished — in some way..

Madman in the Marketplace - 22 February 2010

It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Chris Floyd: Crash Program

This week, an angry white man of European heritage flew an airplane into a building in protest against American political policies.

I urge the Department of Homeland Security to immediately institute stringent new visa requirements for all white people of European heritage who come from countries where there is likely to be anger about American policies. We cannot afford to let people like that into this country — and if they are already here, we must remove them.

Of course, most angry white people of European heritage will not go so far as to commit acts of terrorism. And it is indeed unfortunate that some innocent white people of European heritage might be caught up in the security net. But as long as there is even a one percent chance that someone like that might commit an act of terrorism, we must make the tough choices and act decisively, without worrying about “political correctness.”

We interupt Evening Bible Study…

Dick Cheney hospitalized with chest pains

😯

“His doctors are evaluating the situation and he is resting comfortably,” Cheney’s office said in a statement.

😕 Bummer:

“”Doctors described his condition to the network as stable…””

I imagine one of his attendings might have eleaborated further:
Ya know – remarkable man, yes, he is stable in that certain Sociopathic War Criminal Mastermind Cyborg kind of way we now have to say concomitant with Heart Disease. See it all the time.
Is that okay? May I go home to my family now?

marisacat - 22 February 2010

Or as was said in 2000, no medical professional in the nation thinks he should serve with his heart — BUT his own doctors…

😈

BooHooHooMan - 22 February 2010

The First Comment– at least that isn’t “hidden” – the First Comment in response to the latest blip from Cheney’s ticker has some yutz starting in with the Mind Your Manners. The thread – LOL – is about evenly split on well wishers.

I can only imagine back in the day in Milan where these gentle sorts might have gone down to the square where the Partisans were stringing up Il Duce and Mussolini’s entourage and they’d end up hanging high themselves. LOL.

This comment stood out as wholly illustrative WHY the country is given over to Wingers in the first place. Absolutely illustrates the center of gravity in the DP.

I guess he couldn’t bare watching Obama wipe the floor with him in Afghanistan.

Fuckin whacks.

marisacat - 22 February 2010

Oh FFS – shades of when Reagan died and the Republican voting Lib Blahgers monitored the threads, viciously:

has some yutz starting in with the Mind Your Manners

hmm I don’t think Obster is wiping the floor with anyone… kinda the other way around.

How we know “The President’s Proposal” on health care really is Obama’s baby

Sure, after a year’s worth of health care back-and-forth, “The President’s Proposal” is a twelve-page nothingburger of bullet points with no policy detail (except as… read on). Sure, the proposal is so über-pathetic that even the pathetic [a|the][strong|robust|triggered] public [health insurance]? [option|plan] isn’t included, not even as a meaningless sop to “progressives.” Sure, women are treated as chattel. Sure, the CBO can’t score it. (Remember how important that was?) And sure, this “initial offer” has a pre-compromised and capitulationist baseline that’s so low it might as well have been set by Joe Lieberman doing the limbo.

But all that’s standard operating procedure for Obama and the FKDP. How do we know that Obama gave this kabuki script his personal attention? Here’s the tell:

Look to the wonk. We already know that Obama fancies himself a geek; what excites him about health care insurance reform isn’t saving lives, or even money: It’s electronic medical records.*

marisacat - 22 February 2010

yeah… one thing I wills ay against ob… that is correct in that snippet …. AND that his love of medical records blither is only matched by his love for talking about light bulbs in state and federal buildings.

Obama fancies himself a geek

Bingo, never, ever been interested in policy in his life. Annenberg School Challenge does not count. That went down well in his NGO, non profit ghetto of overly paid elected and civil servants in SS Chicago. It was MEANINGLESS.

Madman in the Marketplace - 22 February 2010

he’s such a fraud, in so very many ways.

marisacat - 22 February 2010

yeah one of the very few things that can be said about the Clintons… AND it is completely destroyed by their personal and political mendacity, BUT they did have a decades long interest in policy.

NTIM.

And no, this isn’t the Onion:

Orly Taitz Appeals to United Nations for Protection, Investigation

Her attorney, Jonathan Levy, writes that Taitz is under “increasing legal attack in the United States from groups and individuals opposed to her legal actions challenging the Constitutional qualifications of Barrack Hussein Obama to hold the office of President of the United States.”

The irony of Taitz appealing to the hated organ of world government for this really goes without saying.
