Wow looks like Anonymous and Wikileaks lanced an enormous pus filled boil, but good:

WikiLeaks Begins Publishing 5 million Emails from STRATFOR

“[Y]ou have to take control of him. Control means financial, sexual or psychological control… This is intended to start our conversation on your next phase” – CEO George Friedman to Stratfor analyst Reva Bhalla on 6 December 2011, on how to exploit an Israeli intelligence informant providing information on the medical condition of the President of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez.

Stratfor’s use of insiders for intelligence soon turned into a money-making scheme of questionable legality. The emails show that in 2009 then-Goldman Sachs Managing Director Shea Morenz and Stratfor CEO George Friedman hatched an idea to "utilize the intelligence" it was pulling in from its insider network to start up a captive strategic investment fund. CEO George Friedman explained in a confidential August 2011 document, marked DO NOT SHARE OR DISCUSS: "What StratCap will do is use our Stratfor's intelligence and analysis to trade in a range of geopolitical instruments, particularly government bonds, currencies and the like". The emails show that in 2011 Goldman Sach's Morenz invested "substantially" more than $4million and joined Stratfor's board of directors. Throughout 2011, a complex offshore share structure extending as far as South Africa was erected, designed to make StratCap appear to be legally independent. But, confidentially, Friedman told Stratfor staff: "Do not think of StratCap as an outside organization. It will be integral… It will be useful to you if, for the sake of convenience, you think of it as another aspect of Stratfor and Shea as another executive in Stratfor… we are already working on mock portfolios and trades". StratCap is due to launch in 2012.

The Stratfor emails reveal a company that cultivates close ties with US government agencies and employs former US government staff. It is preparing the 3-year Forecast for the Commandant of the US Marine Corps, and it trains US marines and "other government intelligence agencies" in "becoming government Stratfors". Stratfor's Vice-President for Intelligence, Fred Burton, was formerly a special agent with the US State Department's Diplomatic Security Service and was their Deputy Chief of the counter-terrorism division. Despite the governmental ties, Stratfor and similar companies operate in complete secrecy with no political oversight or accountability. Stratfor claims that it operates "without ideology, agenda or national bias", yet the emails reveal private intelligence staff who align themselves closely with US government policies and channel tips to the Mossad – including through an information mule in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Yossi Melman, who conspired with Guardian journalist David Leigh to secretly, and in violation of WikiLeaks' contract with the Guardian, move WikiLeaks US diplomatic cables to Israel.

Ironically, considering the present circumstances, Stratfor was trying to get into what it called the leak-focused "gravy train" that sprung up after WikiLeaks’ Afghanistan disclosures:

"[Is it] possible for us to get some of that 'leak-focused' gravy train? This is an obvious fear sale, so that's a good thing. ….

Stratfor did secret deals with dozens of media organizations and journalists – from Reuters to the Kiev Post. The list of Stratfor’s “Confederation Partners”, whom Stratfor internally referred to as its “Confed Fuck House” are included in the release. ….

WikiLeaks has built an investigative partnership with more than 25 media organizations and activists to inform the public about this huge body of documents. The organizations were provided access to a sophisticated investigative database developed by WikiLeaks and together with WikiLeaks are conducting journalistic evaluations of these emails. Important revelations discovered using this system will appear in the media in the coming weeks, together with the gradual release of the source documents.

Oh there is SOOOO much good stuff in there, Diane!

Ya pretty much shot that to Hell! LOL

SO MUCH GOOD STUFF. Love it, just Love It.

Now dig who pops up from market manip hidey-hole as the foregoing ~ and the list ~ is about to spill all over……SCHUMER.
Where else? ~ In a puff piece on BL 😯 BERG

Schumer’s Wall Street Backers Targeted in Tax Standoff

The Democratic Party’s tax-fairness campaign theme pits Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, among the chief architects of that message, against some of his most influential constituents and top campaign donors.

{ 😆 SURE IT DOES! 😆 ~ bhhm }

Democrats are renewing their bid 😆 to end the carried interest tax break for private-equity managers after Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s 2010 return, released last month, showed he used it to help limit his effective tax rate to 13.9 percent. The line of attack may be uncomfortable for Schumer as Wall Street leaders have been top contributors to his re-election and fundraising efforts, said Rogan Kersh, a public policy professor and lobbying expert at New York University.

“If Schumer were a rookie or somebody not experienced in this kind of politics you’d think this might be his undoing,” Kersh said. “It’s awkward for Schumer.” Even so, Kersh said, “he knows how to play this game. He’s been doing it for years.”

Ah yes, Schumer, as always, standing in the breach, getting out in front of the gathering mob and trying to make a parade of it. So good Chucky-chicklet is on top of it now, with own campaign manager and top DNC kick in jail , shot down for parole last week, yepper Hank Morris is still in jai (begging to get out after a full year!) for ripping-off the NY State Pension for , oh, @ $70 million. Coincidentally the approximate take and in the months that ANOTHER Schumer/ Clinton bundler Nemazee was handed $70 mil from Citi alone in a bank fraud. Coincidentally the amount and and in the months that another 70 mil was found to have gone POOF from a bond-backed NJ development loan program funneled through Corzine to Schumers crew for development scams. (More on that eventually! )

Like Mcat says, Put the money on a milk carton! 😆 😉
Milk Cartons all around!
Half-gallon minimums! Otherwise, we’re not picky!
Help us find the money in 50 to 100 Million dollar increments!

Nemazee BTW is a lounger from a family of ex-pat retainers to the Pahlavi’s, you know, lounging around the ol’ Peacock Throne of Iran. His sister is the wife of the Brits’ Ambassador to France, you know, lounging around Paris. LOL.

Sorry to meander so from Stratfor. Excellent post, Diane.
You had me at “Friedman”. 😉

What a piece tho, eh?

Oh DO tell! Spring is in the air, most definitely.

It truly is a delicious clusterfuck,
Sort of like the “independent” (Bankster shilling) market research orgs and ops that ply their pump’ndump analysis. Not even sort of, these particular Stratfor-subscribed jackboots come to make market with the Banksters loooking for war. Such a lovely couple.

The leaks are hoot to read, almost like Drudge via SUBSCRIPTION! ($28,000 dollar is a smaller org subscription)
Where tattling recruits to their network speak of hush-hush daring dooos over pesto tortellini!
No really! It’s in there!
Like Bloomberg News wannabes and everything!
(Frankly, their internal memos read like a minor fiefdom in decline aligned with other minor fiefdoms in decline, subcriptions and tithings falling off, what else is there to do but start a Hedge Fund LOL)

What a nice little operation, tho. And such a long, hilarious way from Letters to the Editor In Defense of Israel circles in some Shlomo’s basement.

What a hoot, Friedman brokering chatty spook gossip from one dunderhead to another in the National Security complex, all of which is used to inform strategic analysis and Pentagon planning when not watching the Military Channel.. All of which the agencies pay Friedman for – LOL – .the privileged of making the whole disastrous , Getting-Their-Counterinsurgency-Ass-Kicked-Out-of-The-Lot of them…. F E E L better.

Stratfor: Friedman is NOT Out!
Despite what the Yes Men say!

How ironic, all of it tho….:
On the one hand, you have Assange arrested and Bradley Manning hanging by a shred for his life. On the other, you have cretins like Friedman, or a ghoul like Eric Prince, the media barons like Murdoch and Bloomie, the lawmen and security types from the Mil to Scotland Yard right down to the NYPD making sales, markets, and sport of classified material. And that’s without enumerating the Bankers, Wall Street, the Corps and their wholly owned flaks, the Pols in the inside-info business….

hmm Not good news. AT all.

Former Nebraska senator Bob Kerrey to run for Senate

Former senator Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.) has changed his mind and plans to run for the Senate seat in Nebraska being vacated by Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson, according to a senior Democratic aide.

The aide said Kerrey has called Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to inform him of his plans.

Kerrey announced earlier this month that he decided against attempting a return to the Senate, citing his family. …..

5. marisacat - 27 February 2012

hmmm

[T]ens of thousands took part in the port shutdowns of November 2nd and December 12th — despite rumors and fears of more police violence.

Those actions energized rank-and-file workers in their struggles against the one percent, most notably the embattled dockworkers in the small town of Longview, Washington. ILWU Local 21 President Dan Coffman of Longview told Occupy Oakland, “You cannot believe what you people did [on November 2] for the inspiration of my union members who have been on the picket line for six months.”

The outcome of the battle on that relatively small stretch of waterfront on the Columbia River would probably determine the future of the longshore union on the West Coast. Both sides turned to allies. The union-busting shipping company EGT had the backing of the police, and the Obama Administration was sending the Coast Guard. This was the first time since 1970 that military units were intervening in a labor dispute. The dockworkers called out to other unions and also to Occupy for support in the upcoming showdown. . . . .

Slob. SO historic.

loved this at the end:

The victory was won by the determination of a large number of courageous people who were willing to fight the battle. This suggests another possible ending to HIGH NOON. In this scenario, as the hour approaches, a dozen or so of the townspeople head out to the train depot. Frank Miller sees them coming, gets back on the train, and sets out for parts unknown.

6. BooHooHooMan - 27 February 2012

LOL. Well, surfing the web Internets online today, really something, all three of them, AND I noticed there were a few mistakes.

For instance. “New Jersey Marijuana Sales Delayed”
No, no – not exactly!

And on a site I like, Naked capitalism, there was this Matt Stoller matter of material fact, errors, and omissions by way of his introduction.

Matt Stoller, the former Senior Policy Advisor to Rep. Alan Grayson and a fellow at the Roosevelt Institute. You can reach him at stoller (at) gmail.com or follow him on Twitter at @matthewstoller.

Shouldn’t that read the former Senior Policy Advisor to the Former Representative Alan Yada Yada Flash-in-the-Pan-Yada C-Yah Bye Yah?

Hell Stoller seems more invested in the ex-officio courtesies than Grayson. Tho I CAN imagine the two of them out for sandwiches, Grayson reflexively working the booths, introducing himself with the “Call me Alan” routine to a thoroughly disinterested middling luncheonette crowd.
“Fine, Alan, can we get some ketchup and a booster seat?” being the reply.

Then there would be Stoller…. staking out the toothpick and mint dispensers over by the gumball machine, with every passerby him launching into the ole “AND YOU can call me Former Senior Pubey Policy Poobah to His Eminence, the Lord Milk-Titty Grayson”.

Oh FFS. LOL, Hook a car up to that motherfucker and our mileage woes are OVER.

marisacat - 27 February 2012

Oddly enough when I dropped in on Dennis Perrin this am, not having been thre in ages, but he had something on MStoller TOO. Apparenlty he soemtimes appears as a ‘sitting in the audience’ side stick to Russell Brand. And he manipulates digital images that are part of RB program.

How odd.

Excuse me for a moment..

BooHooHooMan - 27 February 2012

Okay, I’m back. With all seriousness, Dennis can access vulnerability and longing in the human soul like few can. And I dig anyone who holds themselves , their ideas, their work, the premises behind it out to a crowd.

….And while I don’t dig Stoller, minor sleight of hand artist, seeker of Less Successful Honorary Emanuel Brother status. I dig how Dennis indeed DOES dig Stoller:

Up close, Brand emits serious heat. His sex appeal and charisma are undeniable. At one point I stood right next to him as he talked to a female fan. I’ve met, known and been around numerous celebrities in my life, but I can’t recall feeling weak in the knees. It was a primal reaction. I actually felt intimidated. When he asked what people thought of Stoller, I replied:

“Matt works well as a philosophical straight man.”

Brand turned to me, dark eyes widened.

“He’s a brilliant philosophical straight man, isn’t he? I’m very happy with him!”

HA!

And etc… email from Friedman, and vid at the link… snicker

[ T]oday Wikileaks is publishing the emails that were stolen in December. This is a deplorable, unfortunate — and illegal — breach of privacy.

Some of the emails may be forged or altered to include inaccuracies. Some may be authentic. We will not validate either, nor will we explain the thinking that went into them. Having had our property stolen, we will not be victimized twice by submitting to questions about them.

The disclosure of these emails does not mean that there has been another hack of Stratfor’s computer and data systems. Those systems, which we have rebuilt with enhanced security measures, remain secure and protected.

The release of these emails is, however, a direct attack on Stratfor. This is another attempt to silence and intimidate the company, and one we reject. As you can see, emails sent to many people about my resignation were clearly forged. . . . .

tooo fuckin funny … : 0) … and so many pundits today, most: somewhat unsurely, rather meakly, implying: …wellllllllllll … Stratfor what a waste of time, we all know he’s just an asshole …why waste time blah blah blah ….but not a peepster about that hedge fund, for just one thing….

;0)

BooHooHooMan - 27 February 2012

I don’t think it’s a waste of time at all.
Here you have this lousy, lousy scumbag Government, the latest in its long lousy line of scumbag Presidents and hustlers on the Hill, in DoD, at State and CIA, lecturing the world on its “justifiable” wars through every horror known to mankind, through every obvious tactical defeat and strategic failure , a Government , broke while blaring the threat of of nuclear war at every turn, lecturing the world on the necessity of its dungeoning , torturing or summarily liquidating any opposition in arbitrarily deems fit for the killing, a Government that reserves the same ends for those reporting on the nature of its actions.. A governemt that reserves the right to literally strip its citizens and delegates said duties to minor jerkoffs enriching major jerkoffs like Chertoff as part of the Homeland Security Plan ….And at the same time you have a Governement that itself is not only leaking like sieves, but selling off whatever fancies some fuck with a worthless buck.

There will be damage from this, (IMO, the least of which is what actually happens to Friedman , his STRATFOR sales op and his clients) I certainly hope it helps Manning, I suspect the Anons meant it as much for him as for Assange…

And while I don’t believe in “legitimacy” per se, certainly not positive assertions by this Government, I do believe in my rose-colored way, that it matters a great deal when a Government is widely seen to be over-run by murderers, thugs, and thieves…
Some standards now! ( The lying and the hypocrisy doesn’t help much either. LOL)

As picture comes clearer in to view, it comes down to a few questions : Who really wants to roll with us? Who among those free to choose otherwise will continue to do so? And as it is answered in the ever diminishing negative : What happens when they actually don’t?

marisacat - 27 February 2012

I do believe in my rose-colored way, that it matters a great deal when a Government is widely seen to be over-run by murderers, thugs, and thieves…

As in, no more Olaf Palmes, etc.

BooHooHooMan - 27 February 2012

It does seem about that time again, every 10 years or so where we through cause or effect, bring death down upon some Swedish Prime or Foreign Minister….

Thinking of Sweden now, the Swedes doing the US dirty work over Wikileaks, their fully cut-in AfPakIRaq war profiteering, I suppose toady whathisname as PM has nothing to worry about.

I have this impression of them, very poorly ‘formed I might add – mostly around their “neutrality” in World War 2 and to be frank, Swedish Erotica, that they are and have been a rather happy lot.

THAT simpletonia aside, I think they, like US, like any country, the assassinations ablated whatever popular resistance to militarism was left between them and some manifest national identity: the lure of lucre. They seem to have gone from Olaf to simply…aloof.

Frankly at wars end…. they have a lot to lose now.

‘Stimulus’ we can believe in!!!!! ,….under cover of the Pseudo War on Drugs [Lone Wolves and Darkies] !!!!!! :

AP Exclusive: White House grant money paid for NYPD blanket surveillance of Muslims, [and Blacks who we all know look like Muslims – diane] mosques

By Associated Press, WASHINGTON — Millions of dollars in White House money has helped pay for New York Police Department programs that put entire American Muslim neighborhoods under surveillance.

The money is part of a little-known grant intended to help law enforcement fight drug crimes. Since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the Bush and Obama administrations have provided $135 million to the New York and New Jersey region through the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program, known as HIDTA.

Some of that money — it’s unclear exactly how much because the program has little oversight — has paid for the cars that plainclothes NYPD officers used to conduct surveillance on Muslim neighborhoods. It also paid for computers that store even innocuous information about Muslim college students, mosque sermons and social events.

When NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly was filled in on these efforts, his briefings were prepared on HIDTA computers.

The AP confirmed the use of White House money through secret police documents and interviews with current and former city and federal officials. The AP also obtained electronic documents with digital signatures indicating they were created and saved on HIDTA computers. The HIDTA grant program is overseen by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

The disclosure that the White House is at least partially paying for the NYPD’s wholesale surveillance of places where Muslims eat, shop, work and pray complicates efforts by the Obama administration to stay out of the fray over New York’s controversial counterterrorism programs. [but but but – diane] The administration has championed outreach to American Muslims and has said law enforcement should not put entire communities under suspicion.

Shocking!:

Congress, which approves the money for the program, is not provided with a detailed breakdown of activities. None of the NYPD’s clandestine programs is cited in the New York-New Jersey region’s annual reports to Congress between 2006 and 2010.

A veritable circus of seals and ballz:

The connection between NYPD and the White House anti-drug grant program surfaced years ago, during a long-running civil rights lawsuit against police. Civil rights attorneys asked in court about a “demonstration debriefing form” that police used whenever they arrested people for civil disobedience. The form carried the seal of both the NYPD Intelligence Division and HIDTA.

This is hilarious the NYPD is Green

A city lawyer downplayed any connection. She said the NYPD and HIDTA not only shared office space, they also shared office supplies like paper. The NYPD form with the seal of a White House anti-drug program was “a recycled piece of paper that got picked up and modified,” attorney Gail Donoghue told a federal judge in 2003.

The issue died in court and was never pursued further.

What’s a good terrerist story without Obombster’s bossom bud, tour jeté:

After the AP revealed an extensive program to monitor Muslims in Newark, N.J., police there denied knowing anything about it. The Newark police director at the time, Garry McCarthy, has since moved on to lead Chicago’s police department where President Barack Obama’s first chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, is now the mayor.

Snirk

“We don’t do that in Chicago and we’re not going to do that,” Emanuel said last week.

Official found dead, head covered with plastic bag after measuring radiation in Tokyo park

Madison Ruppert, Contributing Writer
Activist Post

According to a Japanese news outlet, Iza, on July 1st, 2011 63-year-old Mr. Takashi Kabayama was found dead with a plastic bag over his head in his home office.

Kabayama was a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly for the Liberal Democratic Party and had been measuring radiation in an assortment of locations throughout Tokyo. He would then upload his findings to his blog for the world to read, and on the day before he died (June 30, 2011) he measured 0.25 microSv/h in Mizumoto Park in the Katsushika ward located in Tokyo.

Fukushima Diary reported on February 22, 2012 via Gendai that ludicrously high levels of cesium contamination were discovered, also in Mizumoto Park. These levels were so high that they “turned out to be the same level of [the] ‘off-limits zone’ in Chernobyl.”

It is strange that this hasn’t been brought to the public’s attention sooner, because the fact that he was found at 3 AM July 1, 2011, meaning just a short while after he posted his update, is quite unusual. …

I think it’s a fifty/fifty as to whether he was murdered, or was ‘murdered’ via killing himself …not desiring to live anymore watching innocent people slaughtered by those “calling the shots,” having given up on being able to ‘effect change’… with so many silent witnesses surrounding him. ….Same thought I have about Gary Webb; and, at the end of the day, both possibilities are Murder, to my mind.

I really don’t think Webb committed suicide.. IIRC there were two shots from his gun.

It seems to me those cesium readings for Tokyo did come out… but I cannot remember how long ago.

I may have read it in a Fukushima update in al Jazeera…

yeah, those two bullets ….. were pretty fucking damning, … despite his wife’s “reported” commentary. ….I would go so far as to say …that even if he did shoot himself in the brain, ….twice!, … it was still MURDER by those he was tracking for their evil. It was $UZ$,…whitegloved …. MURDER.

marisacat - 27 February 2012

welll I think wives, ex wives say any manner of things after a murder, removal, assasination… it may or may not be reliable.
