HA! We have Ricky Santorum today, in the Bay Area…. he’s about to appear at a Jelly Belly ffactory… or office or something…

diane - 29 March 2012

oh my, some things just never change, like jelly bean and broccoli references … (oh, …and too late Dick, Poppy gave it to the Mormon ). Next week: Obama & My Plate Mickey, at a Heinz Factory!

I so hope that those jelly beans fossilize on the shelves, I wonder if the assholes bothered to determine their Bay area sales, as they seem[ed] very popular …. :0) ….;0)

marisacat - 29 March 2012

They’ve been around for decades – and appeared to always do well…… apparently a R conservative org… the CEO tonight said he had given to all the R contenders… and the news reported that they developed their blueberry jelly bean so they could supply Reagan with Red White and Blue Jellies.

I don’t see it matters much.. Slob has Official Boxed WH M & Ms … the most hilarious thing I’ve read is that the apples and fruit that Memsab mandates be in bowls all over the place have to be cleaned out and removed as they spoil, but people go fishing to find more boxes of the M & Ms.

diane - 29 March 2012

I’m so glad I never got in the habit of buying those little fockers , Mickey probably has a stash of the watermelon flavored under her pillow …….

marisacat - 29 March 2012

who is Mickey?

diane - 29 March 2012

Michele Obama (Mick[e]y is many times used as a nickname, for Michele).

2. diane - 29 March 2012

If the hideous, Academia, Professional & Licensed!!!!!! and Management Class support for the Insurance (Not Health Care!) Man Date, isn’t seen as an indicator of what type of bloodless, self concerned, Musical Stool Fuckers preside over the Social Media!!!!! on the Tubes ,…I don’t know what could be …..

3. diane - 29 March 2012

I don’t know anything about the author, but I bumped into this article, re today’s protest in Spain, shortly before it began:

Spain’s economy was based fundamentally on two big sectors: construction and tourism. The first imploded and left in its wake more than 1.5m unemployed Spaniards with minimal educational backgrounds and an uncertain future. Tourism has continued to function at an acceptable, but lower level. The crisis has also affected European tourists.

Can an advanced economy sustain this level of unemployment? The answer is ‘No’. Fears of social unrest are growing each day. The solutions being offered up by the Spanish government, under the strict direction of the EU technocrats, threaten to continue undermining growth and contributing to unemployment.

No-one knows in which sectors, or when, some of these millions of lost jobs can be recovered. The budget discipline being demanded by German Chancellor Angela Merkel is breaking the economy. In reality, Spain is already a country in recession and this year will suffer a 1.75 per cent decline in gross domestic product, according to government figures.

To achieve the deficit reduction imposed by Brussels (5.3 per cent), Spain is being asked to cut spending by 45bn euros. The conservative government of Mariano Rajoy carried out its first cuts of 15bn euros shortly after taking office just 100 days ago.

The consequences are plain to see: public services have been weakened. Hospitals have been closed, women’s service centres shuttered, elderly home care reduced, day care centres shut down and thousands of teachers and doctors laid off.

In other, Highly Developed!!!!!! … European Nation!!!!, nooz: the new GREASE!

Italians shocked by self-immolation protests

(hate to say it, but: immolation could be coming to $UZ$ neighborhoods quicker than a snake’s smile ….it’s going to be fucking unrelenting until the ‘monetary’ boil is lanced and the disinfection is allowed to begin, …….’we’ truly…… fucked up! ….. ;0( …….)

diane - 29 March 2012

(Very sorry, the link to the protest in Spain is here, …and here:

http://www.channel4.com/news/state-of-fear-pushes-spain-to-24-hour-strike )

marisacat - 29 March 2012

Parts of Spain are not cming back as I see it… same as here. they built developments whwere the few early purchasers, a mix of Spanish and foreign retirees are now isolated in nearly empty developments with few services. And no one around.

We can’t really point fingers, it’s too much like here… From Cali to Florida… and we will never admit to how many are unemployed underemployed.

What a mess.

Very high radiation, little water in Japan reactor

TOKYO (AP) — One of Japan’s crippled nuclear reactors still has fatally high radiation levels and hardly any water to cool it, according to an internal examination that renews doubts about the plant’s stability.

A tool equipped with a tiny video camera, a thermometer, a dosimeter and a water gauge was used to assess damage inside the No. 2 reactor’s containment chamber for the second time since the tsunami swept into the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant a year ago.

The data collected Tuesday showed the damage from the disaster was so severe, the plant operator will have to develop special equipment and technology to tolerate the harsh environment and decommission the plant, a process expected to last decades.

The other two reactors that had meltdowns could be in even worse shape. The No. 2 reactor is the only one officials have been able to closely examine so far.

Tuesday’s examination with an industrial endoscope detected radiation levels up to 10 times the fatal dose inside the chamber. Plant officials previously said more than half of the melted fuel has breached the core and dropped to the floor of the primary containment vessel, some of it splashing against the wall or the floor.

Particles from melted fuel have probably sent radiation levels up to a dangerously high 70 sieverts per hour inside the container, said Junichi Matsumoto, spokesman for Tokyo Electric Power Co. The figure far exceeds the highest level previously detected, 10 sieverts per hour, which was detected around an exhaust duct shared by No. 1 and 2 units last year.

“It’s extremely high,” he said, adding that an endoscope would last only 14 hours in those conditions. “We have to develop equipment that can tolerate high radiation” when locating and removing melted fuel during the decommissioning.

The probe also found that the containment vessel — a beaker-shaped container enclosing the core — had cooling water up to only 60 centimeters (2 feet) from the bottom, far below the 10 meters (yards) estimated when the government declared the plant stable in December. The plant is continuing to pump water into the reactor.

Video footage taken by the probe showed the water inside was clear but contained dark yellow sediments, believed to be fragments of rust, paint that had been peeled off or dust.

truly ‘we’ have outdone ‘ourselves’ in ‘our’ capacity for destruction! …’we’ apparently love destruction and power so much …that ‘we’ have ‘invented’ ‘our’ very own demise …….. and ‘we’ are so very ugly, ‘we’re’ willing to take everyone down with ‘us’ ….

I’m not quite willing to go with those mother fuckers…at the very least ..I won’t be singing that same ghastly tune as they …when it’s finis for me.

marisacat - 29 March 2012

Either Deutsche Welle or Euro News did a good report on it the other day. Not like NHK is doing anything anymore really…

Gee at least NOW they admit there were 3 meltdowns. All of it sitting open to the air and vulnerable to whatever blows thru.

Madman in the Marketplace - 29 March 2012

it’s scary how irresponsible they’ve been

marisacat - 29 March 2012

and corporate media with very few exceptions played along. It really was stunning to watch… that one spot of light was the … third generation Angeleno, that Japanese professor who taught I forget where in the NY area, who was on ABC a LOT… cannot think of his name…

5. BooHooHooman - 30 March 2012

If you’re happy and you know it
… let the federal government know

Amid wave of research on subject, U.S. seeking ways to measure “gross national happiness.”

Oh just stage the outpouring of grief and roll in the modified 70’s Lincoln with Beloved Leader’s flowers on top for this State funeral up in heeya.
➡ 🙂 Ya Happy now? Fuckers.

marisacat - 30 March 2012

LOL Where is Sen Proxmire? (Coburn hardly seems a worthy successor!)

6. BooHooHooMan - 30 March 2012

U.S. drone attacks kill 4 militants in Pakistan, militating against getting killed by a U.S. drone attack in Pakistan no doubt…

7. marisacat - 30 March 2012

ugh… Proof, that it CAN always get worse.. can and does:

JOE SCARBOROUGH and MIKA BRZEZINSKI will host the roundtable on Sunday’s “Meet the Press.”

The cast: Jon Meacham, David Brooks, Harold Ford Jr. and Tom Friedman. SAVANNAH GUTHRIE will conduct the newsmaker interviews: Rick Santorum and Sen. Chuck Schumer

(caps are not mine, thanks to Politico Playbook)

Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2012

OMG …

too funny

marisacat - 30 March 2012

Isn’t it a stunningly bad line-up?

Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2012

they could just replay Tuesday morning’s Morning Joe first hour …

marisacat - 30 March 2012

😆 HE certainly will be doing that…

The ONLY way to make it worse would be to add the most eminent Dem and Republican operative, The Reverend Sharpton.

Truly.

ms_xeno - 31 March 2012

I love how Brooks can still get work, long after it became obvious that his “facts” about U.S. culture were mostly just pulled straight out of his pompous ass. At least his lousy “Bobo” book has been mercifully forgotten. Every idiot that shelled out for that weak-ass piece of shit should’ve sued to get their money back.

The Meritocracy, Ladies and Gentlemen! Let’s hear it for ’em!

marisacat - 31 March 2012

Isn’t it just awful that Brooks and Friedman and all the similar have high paying jobs…. acclaim (however bizarre), book deals and so on..?

To me just as irritating is Kristof, lecturing, as he and the wif, WuDan, move around the world with at least 2 nannies… (not speculation, two nannnies)

Etc.

ms_xeno - 31 March 2012

No kidding.

So tired of these assholes lecturing the rest of us about how that one mistake twenty years ago or whatever is Fate’s license to make us die in the gutter like dogs. >:

If they had to play by the same rules we did, they wouldn’t survive ten minutes in the trenches that they maintain to supposedly build the character of their supposed inferiors. It makes me sick.

8. Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2012

Jeebus Xrist dead and bloody on a stick, the cruelty of this country just kicks me in the gut:

Anna Brown: 29-year-old Black Woman Dies in Jail After Being Dragged By Police Out of Hospital

She yelled from a wheelchair at St. Mary’s Health Center security personnel and Richmond Heights police officers that her legs hurt so badly she couldn’t stand.

She had already been to two other hospitals that week in September, complaining of leg pain after spraining her ankle.

This time, she refused to leave.

A police officer arrested Brown for trespassing. He wheeled her out in handcuffs after a doctor said she was healthy enough to be locked up.

Brown was 29. A mother who had lost custody of two children. Homeless. On Medicaid. And, an autopsy later revealed, dying from blood clots that started in her legs, then lodged in her lungs.

She told officers she couldn’t get out of the police car, so they dragged her by her arms into the station. They left her lying on the concrete floor of a jail cell, moaning and struggling to breathe. Just 15 minutes later, a jail worker found her cold to the touch.
Officers suspected Brown was using drugs. Autopsy results showed she had no drugs in her system.

Six months later, family members still wonder how Brown’s sprained ankle led to her death in police custody, and whether anyone — including themselves — is to blame.

There seems to be no simple answer.

St. Mary’s officials say they did all they were supposed to do for Brown. Richmond Heights police said they trusted a doctor who said she was fit for jail.

Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2012

Oh, and St Mary’s is:

Sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Mary, SSM Health Care – St. Louis is committed to delivering quality patient care to the St. Louis area as embodied in its mission statement:

“Through our exceptional health care services, we reveal the healing presence of God.”

BooHooHooMan - 30 March 2012

St. Mary’s officials say they did all they were supposed to do for Brown. Richmond Heights police said they trusted a doctor who said she was fit for jail.

Because nothing says deep venal thrombosis and the Love of Jesus like Compassionate Catholics busting a patient for trespassing and treating them for throwing pulmonary emboli by carting them off to jail.

Call the case.
Someone so needs to pull the plug on these motherfuckers.

marisacat - 30 March 2012

hmmm oh yes… and I cringe every time some loon starts talking about how nurturing women are…. puhleeeez, some are some are not…

There is a story running about, of an attempt from workers to organise at some hosptial that is run by nuns… and the nuns have done EVERyTHING to shut down the attempt. I forget the details now, but it is a stunner.

Madman in the Marketplace - 31 March 2012

part of the stinking wave of talking points all week was “people get help anyway” … from “both” “sides” … which as this and so many other cases show just ain’t so. Something like this pops up fairly regularly, and every so often you get a big scandal like that CA hospital a few years ago that was dumping patients at the curb to avoid the cost of treating them.

marisacat - 31 March 2012

oh I remember the videos from Cali…. from the woman who died in the waiting room, as she was ignored – to a patient dumped BY the hospital on LA’s Skid Row, it was caught on a liquor store security cam iirc…. I think still with an IV in his or her arm. All they will do in an emergency is patch you up, very basically and “street” you.

People have thi odd illusion that you get years of cancer treatment for free, or some silly idiocy…

I heard a couple of things this week, Insurance companies, in some instances the biggest and “best” known, like Anthm BX here in Cali, are, with no notice, advising people in the plan and paying for coverage that the doctors at this or that hosptial are no longer covered in the plan. Geesh, think of it. No notice and no recourse, perfectly with in regulations…

That and hosptials closing ERs, clinics, what few there have been, closing…. AND even standing hospitals closing whole departments… I was STUNNED to learn that Cal Pac Med Cntr – where I was, no longer has a pediatrics unit. They now own so many hosptials in SF and the Bay Area, under “Sutter Health” that a ped’s patient might get treated in the ER but will be shuffled off to St Luke’s. No unit to care for a child.

I still say, all of this hoopla is already academic… the only decent or reliable care (within a problem prone industry, let’s be honest) will be for cash up front patients..

Madman in the Marketplace - 31 March 2012

a lot of hospitals are closing basic stuff to fund revenue raising depts like plastic surgery and athletic medicine.

the priorities are fucked.

marisacat - 31 March 2012

I agree… and I have to say Kaiser wich of course has a strong hold here in California and the BA, started that years ago…. You have to go over there to have a baby… which I think now is Redwood City, south of SF, but up in Marin they have a plastic surgery department… A center for all the Kaiser Permanente Hospitals.. and even if your doctor recommends a surgery for medical reasons, someone i knew at work was referred by her Kaiser physician for breast reduction, you have to pay 30% (or that was the breakdown, 12 years ago)….

Back pain centers, athletic repair centers, orthopedic care… on and on…

When my neighbor Philip would visit me, he always remarked that as I was stuck in a room I couldn’t see it, but there were few patients… plenty of docts and nurses, people in white and pastel, but not many patients..

well hell, of course, if you close down specialities… – why they kept me as long as they did, I didn’t understand then nor now.

marisacat - 30 March 2012

I read about that earlier today… just horrific..

ms_xeno - 31 March 2012

Yes, of course she was a druggie. [rolleyes]

But re-elect Hopey, because we’re all so “post-racial” now!

I guess the cops didn’t break out the truncheons and pepper spray only because they were saving ’em for Occupy. >:

9. Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2012
BooHooHooMan - 30 March 2012

LOL …and entering …( from Exit, Stage Left) …
The New! Dailykos FrontPager… and so forth.

God, in a week, at this rate anyways,
Chris Hayes will be touted as the latest llama of Edward R Murrow,
Jonathon Capehart as the reincarnated David Broder.

Getting hard out there, man.
I see Tasini lost his unpaid bloggers suit against Ariana today.
A chilling effect, all of this. LOL.

marisacat - 30 March 2012

Buuuut Tasini is basically a shill for the Democrats… so he should be used to that sort of thing…

I noticed over at Cpunch that Cockburn led off his lead piece, today I think, declaring that due to Trayvon, the R are facing defeat all across the nation.

Wonder what they are smoking in Fortuna Cali.

marisacat - 30 March 2012

And Spitz will move right in… gee what a liberal joint with Granholm and Spitz…. the man in the socks.

Madman in the Marketplace - 31 March 2012

they’ve added Bill Press in the mornings, too. And Stephanie Miller. For all of Olbermann’s faults, at least he was entertaining … the bunch they have left are incredibly boring.

marisacat - 31 March 2012

Oh Bill Press is such a fucking boring shill for the Democrats… he is APPALLING. Another one that, with vague mouthings for “choice” and gay marriage, preens and calls himself a “liberal”, he is just one more asshole jockeying for the payola.

Stephanie Miller never worked for me…

Madman in the Marketplace - 31 March 2012

pretty worthless lineup.

10. Madman in the Marketplace - 30 March 2012
marisacat - 30 March 2012

Bravo!!

BooHooHooMan - 30 March 2012

It’d be nice to see Walker get his ass knocked off as I’m for anything in the Throw The Bums Out sector.
Tho I can’t help but think
How will the Donks botch this now?
What dullard dive-artist is waiting in the wings?
What New Corporate Cornholio will arise to save the Cheeseheads?

Madman in the Marketplace - 31 March 2012

WI donks are a pretty worthless bunch, on the whole, but mostly because they don’t try to do anything much, rather than the active whoring for corporate interests by the national party. Walker could pull this out, but I think a Senator or two could lose, which would put the Senate in Democrat hands, slowing down the winger rapine and pillage at least a little for a couple of years.

ms_xeno - 31 March 2012

Democrats: the only workers in America who get rewarded for showing to work and then not working.

via…. 😆 ….. the Wall Street Journal
Sums things up rather nicely, no?

marisacat - 30 March 2012

Well… not having bought a ticket, I am pretty sure I did not win…

😳

BooHooHooMan - 30 March 2012

I’m against it on principle tho I do think it’s one of the better uses for personal savings and investments. LOL. It is all to laugh. I got a real kick out of seeing that atop the WSJ. They really should just merge with the Daiiy Racing Form.

Anyways, hittin the hay now…

marisacat - 30 March 2012

…the WSJ. They really should just merge with the Daiiy Racing Form.

What a brilliant idea!

It occurs to me you are an unacknowleged son of Murdoch. Or might as well be…

😉

marisacat - 30 March 2012

And quicker than a flying gnat:

Maryland official says winning record Mega Millions ticket sold in Baltimore County

An official with the Maryland lottery says a record $640 million winning lottery ticket has been sold in Maryland, and there could be others nationwide, the Associated Press reports.

Carole Everett, director of communications for the Maryland Lottery, says the winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at a retailer in Baltimore County. She said it’s too early to know any other information about the lucky ticket-holder or whether others were sold elsewhere in the nation.

Barrett Will Enter Recall Race for Governor

I like our Mayor … he’s been fairly good for the city, but he ran a terrible campaign against Walker in the last race.

Interestingly, should he win he’d be both Governor and Mayor of Milwaukee, a city which the rest of the state, and often the Governor’s office, has delighted in shitting all over what it needs. There is apparently no statutory reason why he can’t hold both offices.

It’s going to be a couple of interesting months until June.

15. marisacat - 31 March 2012

hmm this should totally freak out an San Franciscans who read it… and surely will NOT be on the local TV or radio news….

WASHINGTON — Home prices fell in January for a fifth straight month in most major U.S. cities, as modest sales increases have yet to boost prices.

The Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller home-price index released Tuesday showed that prices dropped in January from December in 16 of 19 cities tracked.

The steepest decline was in San Francisco, where prices declined 2.5 percent from December to January. Atlanta and Portland also experienced decrases of more than 2 percent. Prices increased in Miami, Phoenix and Washington. Price information for Charlotte was delayed and therefore not included in the report.

It goes on with some soft diddle about how things however are getting better then spits this out:

The biggest reason why prices are still falling is foreclosures, which are still high across the country. Foreclosures and short sales — when a lender accepts less for a home than what is owed on a mortgage — are selling at an average discount of 20 percent.

Foreclosure activity surged in February across half of U.S. states. The pace of foreclosures is increasing after all 50 U.S. states reached a $25 billion settlement last month with the nation’s five biggest mortgage lenders over foreclosure abuses. Many foreclosures had been stuck in limbo as the 16-month government investigation into foreclosure paperwork problems dragged on. ….

What is that glib thing the polticians all say, all of the time? Oh yes, God Bless America!

Blessed we are!

I don’t know who else may ave followed MI-5/Spooks, but I just finished the last episode of the last season, Season 10.

What a stunning series.

Madman in the Marketplace - 31 March 2012

pretty great run, over all.

marisacat - 31 March 2012

I watched an extra attached to the first disc of Season 10… and the various and sundry, creative directors etc, mentioned that originally they had planned for the stories to be centered on the agents working the grid and the field, with Peter Firth/ Harry Pearce just the occasional hovering figure… but he was so great in the series, that they quickly began to shift the story focus…

Wasn’t that Mega Millions bit something, I’ve been pondering how they rigged it to such a high jackpot to divert (I’m sure there have been I’m Feelin Lucky!!!!! studies out the ass, behind MIC, ’APA’ and other Ivory Tusked, Walls (just like studies determining who the loser smokers (notice cigar and pipe smokers are never called Smokers and are never legally overdosed with the obscene magnitude of legal nicotine ) and ‘overweight’ populations mostly represent)), along with feeding embezzled State coffers, ….. as ‘they’ held a Courtyard Carney Show as to who deserves not to die, with not even something to numb the pain, from the morally and physically deadly ‘culture’ ‘our betters’ have spawned,….. despite the fact that they long ago determined ‘their’ target ‘citizens’ for pain (among so many other issues warranting the diversion The [Rigged] Lottery provided ).

Once in his bedroom, Mayer locked the door, allegedly threw Trent down, spit in her face, “pull[ed] her hair out and pull[ed] off her eyelashes” before pulling her by her hair and slamming her head into the marble floor of the bedroom, Becker wrote.

With Trent on the floor “in the fetal position,” Mayer allegedly punched her eight times and told her “the only way she was going to get out of this was if he drove her to the Golden Gate Bridge and she jumped off,” …

surprise:

Trent later told cops that she was afraid of Mayer’s family.

Stunned, ….I say!:

Mayer has reportedly not worked since his sister’s company went public, though in addition to attending exclusive parties, he has donated generously to Democratic political causes: he contributed $35,800 to the Obama Victory Fund on April 25, 2011, and dished out $30,400 to the Democratic National Committee on November 8, 2010, according to records. He gave a downtown Minneapolis address — 500 East Grant Street, a new condominium building — and listed himself as self employed in “finance.”

I would actually feel bad for Ms. Mayer/ Bogue if anything else I’ve read, in the last few years, made her appear to be anything but the self serving bloodsucker she’s struck me as ……

This morning before rush hour, teams of activists, many from Occupy Wall Street, in conjunction with rank and file workers from the Transport Workers Union Local 100 and the Amalgamated Transit Union, opened up more than 20 stations across the city for free entry. As of 10:30 AM, the majority remain open. No property was damaged. Teams have chained open service gates and taped up turnstiles in a coordinated response to escalating service cuts, fare hikes, racist policing, assaults on transit workers’ working conditions and livelihoods — and the profiteering of the super-rich by way of a system they’ve rigged in their favor.

For the last several years, riders of public transit have been under attack. The cost of our Metrocards has been increasing, while train and bus service has been steadily reduced. Budget cuts have precipitated station closings and staff/safety reductions. Police routinely single out young black and Latino men for searches at the turnstile. Layoffs and attrition means cutting staff levels to the bare minimum, reducing services for seniors and disabled riders. At the same time, MTA workers have been laid off and have had their benefits drastically reduced. Contract negotiations are completely stalled.

Working people of all occupations, colors and backgrounds are expected to sacrifice to cover the budget cut by paying more for less service. But here’s the real cause of the problem: the rich are massively profiting from our transit system. Despite the fact that buses and subways are supposed to be a public service, the government and the MTA have turned the system backwards—into a virtual ATM for the super-rich. Instead of using our tax money to properly fund transit, Albany and City Hall have intentionally starved transit of public funds for over twenty years; the MTA must resort to bonds (loans from Wall Street) to pay for projects and costs. The MTA is legally required to funnel tax dollars and fares away from transportation costs and towards interest on these bonds, called “debt service.” This means Wall Street bondholders receive a huge share of what we put into the system through the Metrocards we buy and the taxes we pay: more than $2 billion a year goes to debt service, and this number is expected to rise every year. If trends continue, by 2018 more than one out of every five dollars of MTA revenue will head to a banker’s pockets.

This much is clear: the MTA’s priorities are all out of whack. This fare strike is a means for workers and riders to fight for shared interests together — but this is just a first step. All of us — the 99% — have an interest in full-service public transportation system that treats its ridership and employees with dignity.

The MTA is a shared, public service — fund it with tax revenues.
Eliminate free money for bondholders at the expense of taxpayers.
End the assault on worker’s livelihoods.

More and more it reminds me of the Schiavo mess of a few years ago… St Terry of Pinellas and so on…

… and it reminds me of some wag who described Florida as the ‘dangling organ of the nation’….

The case of slain Florida teenager Trayvon Martin and the man who shot him, George Zimmerman, has become the most covered story in America, eclipsing even the presidential election, according to one media-tracking organization.

But the many Americans who turned their attention to the violent incident got radically different accounts of what happened on that rainy Sunday night in Sanford, depending on where they got their news.

The Pew Research Center’s Project for Excellence in Journalism found that about one-fifth of the total news space was devoted to the shooting. (Pew sampled news outlets ranging across social media, blogs, newspapers, radio and television.)

Was it Maher? He calls FL “America’s dick” a lot …

marisacat - 1 April 2012

it may have been, it was so many years ago…. Maybe when FL flight schools, unlike Minnesota, just told the 9/11 “pilots”, sure you can just learn to take off… no problem…

And Minneapolis said, whoa. Not here you don’t – and, by the by, who are you?..

Like so many states it is several within one… I barely know it. And mostly know the Gulf coast side… not the Atlantic side.
But, another world.

I know Rubio consistently says no, when asked about the Veepessa spot and sounds very credible saying it, but I still think he is a viable possibility for Mittens… I don’t know much about the NM woman, forget if she is Lt Gov or state AG… but I think Mittnes has to go in that direction…. South, Latino/Latina etc.

Madman in the Marketplace - 1 April 2012

I saw a hispanic/latino activist somewhere this weekend roll her eyes and laugh when Rubio running as Veep came up, basically said, “when are politicians and media going to learn that not all of us are Cubans” and said that culturally Mexican Americans and Puerto Ricans have NOTHING in common with them.

marisacat - 1 April 2012

I agree with that… got a handy PR tho? Mexican Americans abound, if they want a Western Veepessa…. His immediate history in FL is still messy.. apparently he has been going around saying he and his partner, another Fl state level pol, have cleaned up their RE mess… but reports say not.

That’ll dog him.

B interesting to see who Mittens picks.

Madman in the Marketplace - 1 April 2012

there is a Mexican American woman out west, teabagger, that several of them brought up.

marisacat - 1 April 2012

sad to say, loads of conservative minorities here. I suppose it would work for Mittens to shore up the West… tho I will be interested in the final vote totals for each in the West, Oregon, Nevada and so on. Pretty clear reading around the edges that Slobby would prefer to be collecting more cash out here. Coming in too slow.

We’ll see. Mother Slob was just out here, to commission a … Coast Guard ship I think it was. I don’t think there was much interest.

Just FYI…. I may not get a new thread up later, endless computer problems… Hopefully this one manages not to start the usual WP hiccups as it gets fuller.

If I get a strong connection, will get something up…

sigh. (4:02 PM)
