Raise the Minimum Wage
Somebody made the suggestion just recently, with in a couple of months – – – – that if WalMart, Starbucks, McDonalds, Big Box Stores and the like, all raised their ordinary wages for regular workers, soemthing from 50 cents – a dollar an hour even, it would make a huge difference in the country.
I noticed it sank without a trace…
BTW in the French elections, all sides are advocating raising their minimum wages (sure sure the ooze of populism as voting gets closer, but still! compared to here!!)

I can definitely vouch personally for the idea that raises to ordinary people get pumped into the economy more or less the instant they’re in hand. My lavish $144 a week from Unemployment, for instance? Just got it two hours ago and by the time the clock strikes four pm it’ll pretty much be a faded memory. Gas, food, credit cards, some food for the four-footed beasts… The end, until next Wednesday.
