I’m no war-monger – never have been – but when your country fucks up another country repeatedly you owe those citizens something. Not drones and killing civilians in wedding parties – just some basic understanding that the people “over there” are actually human beings. When you are so damn self-absorbed that you can’t even muster up one iota of compassion for anybody but yourself and your kind, you’re just beyond gone.
And all of those fucking Democrats over at the Big Fucking Orange Nightmare who are cheering this woman on are the same ones who voted in lockstep for Obama, knowing he was going to escalate in Afghanistan. Damn hypocrites, the lot of them.

It’s a very strange place, Orange Land… but I noticed taht whole line of “they need to stand up… “, applied to both Iraq and Afganistan, went over very well here. The hapless luckless population liked it very much.
It’s pretty hard to stand up when you’re being bombed repeatedly and when your gov’t is just the puppet of American Empire Inc. But when people/Westerners get tired of their little wars, they aim their angry sites at the innocent people as if they deserve the clusterfuck they’ve been thrown into.
Not the first time I’ve seen that BS over there and it’s rampant in the I/P diaries a la “well, maybe they shouldn’t hide terrorists in their houses if they don’t want to be killed” – as if life really is that bloody simple.

This is all to perpetuate the myth that they “fixed” things. Nothing has been fixed. Unemployment is 9.5% offically and in the broadest sense is over 16%, not counting the roughly equal number that have taken involuntary pay cuts, furloughs (all the state workers in ca), had their overtime cut back, hours cut to not quite full time, benefits reduced or eliminated entirely…they didn’t fix shit. The economy is trying to fix itself despite them.
B&Z created a fantasy scenario entirely of their own making (the counterfactual), where they saved the economy. Now this is being cited as proof they saved the economy.
I think everything they point to as a remedy, has simply been destructive. I don’t see us getting out, frankly… how could we.
AND anyone who misses that Arnold was set into place in Cali TO BE destructive was not paying attention.

We just had a huge raid (not htat I care) of masses of stores selling counterfeit goods…. Fisherman’s Wharf nd similar areas. They nabbed a load of Chinese, stating that some were illegal. My own guess is that Chinatown cooperated, somebody not playing along got given up.
