Proving that people can always get nuttier.

In terms of medical conditions and faith healing, I have just heard 2 hours (local talk radio) of overflowing hysteria, jingoism…

Some wept.  Some swore up and down that Obama DOES have the cohones to do whatever it will take.  He will save us!  One said he has the “cohones of the dinosaurs”.  Truly, I do not want to know what that means.

Frantic protestations of belief in Our Leader and that the Tea Partiers are “traitors”, who hate Obama and that it is traitorous that they openly declare they want him to fail.

It was EPIC.  Fervent declarations that only this set of believers (those prostrate in front of Obama) are holders of the pure flame patriotism, that “the other side” does not love their country (who fucking cares by now).  The other side are the “New Ku Klux Klaners”.  Yes, one did say that.

We were in Passion of the Christos territory… One of the weepers declared love of country to be the Greatest Love There Is.

Who dispersed the Extra Special Nuttiness Pills?

The “other side” is the craven partisans, the faithful Democrats are the vestals of the temple.

I am not kidding.  Stunning.

We are so fucking fucked.  And what will those pure believers do when deflation takes place? When the very hot air they are loaded with is sucked from their puffy bodies???

Don’t be downwind, is my advice….

It was amazing.

3. marisacat - 28 July 2011

hmm Dean Baker at Cpunch….

[A]t the beginning of 2008 the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the country’s most respected official forecasting agency, projected that the budget deficit in 2009 would be just 1.4 percent of GDP. The reason that the deficit exploded from 1.4 percent of GDP to 10.0 percent had nothing to do with wild new spending programs or excessive tax cuts. This enormous increase in the size of the deficit was entirely the result of the fallout from the housing bubble.

Remarkably, both Republicans in Congress and President Obama have sought to conceal this simple reality. The Republicans like to tell a story of out-of-control government spending. This is supposed to be a long-standing problem (in spite of the fact that Republicans have mostly controlled the government for the last two decades) that requires a major overhaul of the budget and the budgetary process. They are now pushing, as they have in the past, for a constitutional amendment requiring a balanced budget.

It might be expected that President Obama would be anxious to correct the misconception about the budget, but this would not fit his agenda either. President Obama is relying on substantial campaign contributions from the business community to finance his re-election campaign. Many business people are anxious to see the major government social programs (Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid) rolled back. They see the crisis created around the raising of the debt ceiling as a unique opportunity to accomplish this goal. . . . .

not about Oblemmings directly put I think can be filled under the “the total fucking lunatic” tag:

“It’s … true that sometimes agents who do narcotics work [like DEA agents] may also do things that are at the same time of interest to the CIA in terms of intelligence collection.

If CIA and DEA are working the same person, collecting information, the CIA will get the nod [ultimate control] that’s normal. In the field [overseas] the CIA trumps everyone.

… The system is designed so that agencies do not walk over each other’s assets [or informants], so you don’t have two agencies going after the same people for different reasons [DEA to bust them for narco-trafficking and CIA to use them as intelligence assets, for example]. [In those cases, though] it is CIA that gets the preference; CIA is the mother god.”

ATF’s Fast and Furious Seems Colored With Shades of Iran/Contra Scandal

I don’t know if you kind folks have tuned into the “Fast a Furious” scandal but in the U.S. press its been played as bungled operation to track illegal arms shipments to Mexico by the ATF but according to the NarcoSphere article possibly not:

“The evidence we have gathered raises the disturbing possibility that the Justice Department not only allowed criminals to smuggle weapons but that taxpayers dollars [in the form of informant payments] from other agencies may have financed those engaging in such activities.

… It is one thing to argue that the ends justify the means in an attempt to defend a policy that puts building a big case ahead of stopping known criminals from getting guns. Yet it is a much more serious matter to conceal from Congress the possible involvement of other agencies in identifying and maybe even working with the same criminals that Operation Fast and Furious was trying to identify.”
Linky thing

Ganjafied Gabacho - 28 July 2011

A little background info:

Indictments filed in federal court, documentation obtained by Senator Grassley, and statements of ATF agents obtained by Senator Grassley and CBS News, show that the ATF Phoenix Field Division allowed and facilitated the sale of over 2,500 firearms (AK-47 rifles, FN 5.7mm pistols, AK-47 pistols, and .50 caliber rifles) in ‘straw man purchases’ destined for Mexico. [17][24][25][26][27][28]According to ATF agents, Mexican officials were not notified, and ATF agents operating in Mexico were instructed not to alert Mexican authorities about the operation.[29] Some ATF agents and supervisors strongly objected, and gun dealers (who were cooperating with ATF) protested the sales, but were asked by ATF to complete the transactions to expose the supply chain”

Stimulus we can believe in!

Well they say unemployment claims are down. Outside of cooking the books, (to be corrected after everyone has lost interest), must be those summer corn de-tasseling jobs in Illinois’ 150 Monsanto fields. Added bonus: people who die on the job can’t file for unemployment benefits.

From the comments:

…the girls were killed when they came in contact with the centerpivot’s pooling water, while its electrical unit was running it. I never thought people were suppposed to be working in the same field being irrigated by a centerpivot at the same time. Why would field workers be in the same space with a computer driven irrigating machine?

Who knows how many “illegals” might have been electrocuted over the years, I’m sure they’ve learned quickly not to get anywhere near those machines, if they can prevent it.

Was that on Rothman’s slot?

Yes but the comments I mentioned were from the callers. There were only about two, possibly three sane ones. I think even he was flabbergasted, a bit. Because he has maintained, finally, that it appears Slobster is too “weak” (he used that word) to know how to negotiate wtih congress.

Not that it matters, as the prevailing thrust of the propaganda across several hosts there is the machine party line that “entitlements” must take the hit. And so on.

This gave me a giggle… boy they sound very nervous. From Reuters on the right side bar (it crashed my cmputer twice so…I won’t try to open it again… )

(Reuters) – President Barack Obama is deeply involved in trying to win a debt deal and his White House was working flat out, aides said, pushing back against any impression Congress had sidelined the administration.

“He’s getting absolutely no sleep. He’s working tirelessly, meeting with his economic team, doing a lot of outreach, exploring all kinds of possibilities for compromise,” top Obama aide Valerie Jarrett told Reuters Insider.

White House officials have blanketed U.S. cable television in the last few days to get their message over that Republicans were harming the U.S. economy by refusing to compromise over measures to cut the deficit and lift the borrowing ceiling. . . . . .

Read a certain way it is hysterically funny. He is so in over his head.

And whose fault is THAT?
What did ANY of the Dems or the Party favor types like Lange provided up a little coin and catering allowance do to stop them? Hell they abbetted the Fascists then and do so still. Always an excuse. Always some diversion.

That flopsweat Lounge – Tim – whatever – isn’t even writing his own diversion , he just dabs up the piss out of Digby’s latest. talking point puddle. Obama has imploded among Indies.
Lesser and lesser boychicks like Lange,, dumbshits all really, believers to one degree or other in Obama and his Clinton Admin handlers as some deep strategic thinkers (tho, LOL most of them have moved on, now, haven’t they?!? – The Daleys via Bill Daleys there with Ob, like the brothers hanging in with Clinton before, just there protecting their investments, well , if you consider corporate grand larceny on an Epic scale and clubbing any dissenting , you know, people in the way to be a business development opportunity) But, I digress. Anyways, back to Lange. Lange,of course is an rank opportunist, but like the lesser and lesser Dem boychickss, in other words,, his superiors trotting out polls in recent weeks about how Obama and the Donks aren’t taking a hit on the debt ceiling….he’s dumb as shit, too.

Now while it works for the Party Brass and the cash laden Banks who are going to get paid thru this, I don’t think any of the lesser Party (Brassieres?) – joke is- INCLUDING Barry – NONE of them have the slightest clue how dead Obama is now politically after doing the SS hatchet work…(almost done) .. on Social Security.

Debt-ceiling drama: Obama is not invisible
By Jonathan Capehart

::

At a dramatic, post-market-close news conference at the White House Friday, Obama announced that the grand bargain he and Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) had been working on for weeks had collapsed. Clearly exasperated, the president issued a command to Congress.

😆

Well, to quote Father Flanagan: God this kid can suck dick!

As we saw with the killing of Osama bin Laden, the ending of “don’t ask, don’t tell” and even the secret talks between Obama and Boehner over a big deal on the debt ceiling, this president by and large eschews theatrics for getting stuff done. And this drives people crazy.

Now I’m a pedantic ass. But R EA L LY-

For better or worse, we have a president who firmly believes that Congress is a co-equal branch of government. Just as the Founders envisioned. Those 535 people pass legislation and send it to the president for his signature or veto. Of course, the president can propose bills and push priorities. But over the last decade, the American people and Congress itself seem to want an all-powerful executive ❓ who tells Congress what he wants and how. And judging by all the whinging from members of Congress about the president not telling them what he wants and how, they seem perfectly content to be viewed as staff.

Where to begin? Imaginary wedding, much??? “For better or worse we have a president who firmly believes..” … Or Capehart’s cartoonish juvenile civics lesson all but , (sorry) , pathetically lifted from Schoolhouse Rock…..

14. marisacat - 29 July 2011

hmm This killing in Libya… and iirc I think we just officially recognised some slice of the so called “rebels”

Well Whoopsie.

[W]e are beginning to see some very graphic accounts and videos of the actual conduct of the rebels in torturing and executing prisoners and suspected Ghadafi loyalists in Benghazi, not to mention compulsory reimposition of the burka for women and kindred evidence of rabid fundamentalism among NATO’s clients.

The same day this news of Younis’s killing came, Britain recognized the rebels at the legitimate government of Libya and gave them the okay to take over Libyan government facilities in London. There seems to be civil war in London, since foreign secretary William Hague had come off his hardline stance against negotiations with Tripoli. By way of thank you, as his men pumped bullets into Younis, Jalil swiftly requested the $25 billion in Libyan government funds, held by NATO powers, which if turned over, — which I strongly doubt — will no doubt enter many a private rebel account, not to mention private NATO accounts – which aim was evident from the start, when Benghazi opened a “central Libyan bank.”

This is one of the greatest humiliations of NATO in its history (also, to be petty, a terrific smack in the eye for the analytic and political acumen of a prime propagandist in progressive circles for the rebels, Prof. Juan Cole, whose blogs on Libya have been getting steadily more demented. [oopsie! the price of being a Dem party consultant and offering up your blog, once independent, as a Dem operative site! Whoopsie! Doopsie! – Mcat] ) Incidentally, they keep calling for Ghadafi to “step down.” In constitutional terms, which is what NATO must keep in mind, I believe he did some time ago.

When do we get our share of the loan?
I’m thinking a nice villa on Lake Como. LOL.

marisacat - 29 July 2011

I could go for that…

I had a laugh a few weeks ago, Daily Mail had pics of a rather zaftig … Christina Frederickson ? Richardson? I think is her name, the beauteous red head from Mad Men. She and a girlfriend were staying at Villa d’Este for a break, pics were pool side, a one piece black swinsuit. I got an instant image of the lake district awash in detached male eyeballs rolling around. having fallen out at a single glimpse of her…

Ganjafied Gabacho - 29 July 2011

wasting neurons watching MSNBC’s smug O’Donnell interview Dorgan, who says McConnell is refusing to “negotiate” with Reid calls it a “filibuster”

WoooHooo! Praise the Lard and pass the popcorn!

marisacat - 29 July 2011

all in it together…

Ganjafied Gabacho - 29 July 2011

Red/Blue pigs in a sty
caked in dead sheep blood.
Wish they would eat shit and die

BooHooHooMan - 29 July 2011

I dig zaftig.
I like to think of myself as zaftig. LOL.

marisacat - 29 July 2011

oh I did not mean ”zaftig” as a slam… at all. She is amazing… but clearly up a few pounds by the time she hit Como… but I am sure she was also the talk of the town, esp if that hair was still Mad Men red…

😉

BooHooHooMan - 29 July 2011

oh I did not mean ”zaftig” as a slam
Oh I know. 😎
And just as soon as I looked up “zaftig”, I dug it!
And began to think of myself that way! 😆
I was looking for a new self regard anyways.
Nobody was buying my whole Ruebenesque thing anymore. 😆

BooHooHooMan - 29 July 2011

LOL. I meant “Reubenesque” but wiping the cole slaw and dressing interfered with my typing.

No Ruben on rye?

Scene Change:

Three Stooges in Dark Suits;

Harry, Dickie and Chuckie

“PFFFFLIbuster!” Harry spits,stutters, whisper crossly

“Decency!” whines Dickie.

“Its up the the reTHUGlicans make something passable (perhaps like a fat constipative turd? -GG)Chuckie hollers hotly
they just can make them agree (/sob)

marisacat - 29 July 2011

They all hng together, no matter what ever went down in the past.

Dorgan did a book on what a nightmare our trade treaties are, have been and will be. The Dems with Reid working like some wood chuck gnawing away…kept it from being reviewed nationally… Cspan did have Dorgon on as did Charli Rose (Rose had him on much later) but zip zilch print or media reviews, no newspaper interviews etc. I found all of 3 reviews nationally the entire year it came out.

But he will show up to cover for them.

Ganjafied Gabacho - 29 July 2011

It seems to be a familiar pattern; whine and wring your hands about disaster in some small corner of the stage while pulling together to stabilize the huge curtain covering the collective Kabuki

Jesse Jackson: Obama should have been tougher

…like JEEEZUHS.

Anyways let the Shakedown / Break down/ Come back around Games begin.

I saw over at the Vague Orange Revolutionary Flag Wavey Motif that tired ole Movement cager Conyers is looking for new veal for some protest pen in DC.

Beat. Bogus. Been there. Fuck Off, Bamboozlers. LOL.

marisacat - 29 July 2011

has jesse stopped weepin’ from that night in chicago? yet?

Ganjafied Gabacho - 29 July 2011

i’m still weeping.

not ’cause I thought “that shoulda been me” like Big Daddy Jesse

but i remember seeing so many well meaning fools believing in…
hoping…
for a better country and world and I knew they would soon be disapointed because, as the folks ’round here seem to know, that unfortunately, hope is never enough when being conned…

marisacat - 29 July 2011

yeah.. it is so not working. I mean, for ordinary people. And they sure were conned. Still are too…

Now Alec Baldwin, HE’S , I’d say, RubInesque

Alec Baldwin
Actor
GET UPDATES FROM Alec Baldwin 😯

It’s Time To Suck It Up And Pay Our Bill

Working here in Rome the last two weeks…

😆 SO Not feelin it, man.
And like Baldwin doesn’t have A/C at home.

…has been a welcome break from the heat back home in New York, not to mention the sound of alarms going off throughout the U.S. media about the impending debt ceiling debacle. Reading websites and blogs about the possibility of the US defaulting on its debts for the first time in history, I’m reminded of the Clinton impeachment fiasco, which I also watched through the prism of overseas media while I was in South Africa for an extended trip in 1998.

Nice of you to drop in , Alec. NEXT! 😆
“Our” bills. 🙄
Like I have my own chest-mowing service.
Sure. A team of Guatemalans pull up in a landscaping rig and run a 40 thousand dollar greens mower over the ole man-boobs here twice a week. Which is picked up by my employment contract and written off. LMAO.

marisacat - 29 July 2011

hmm maybe ol’ Alec has never spent an August in Rome. Which is coming up in 3 days…

BooHooHooMan - 29 July 2011

His tripe is a mix of the extraordinarily stupid and clueless detached scold..

In the short 13-year period since Clinton’s great troubles, little of that partisan disgrace has figured much in the lives of its principal players. Hillary Clinton went on to soar in her own career as a senator, a vigorous combatant for her party’s presidential nomination and secretary of state. Her husband is still a political figure of enormous influence in the world, still admired nearly everywhere he goes and still married to his wife. Monica Lewinsky is a footnote, as most sex scandal femme fatales usually become (Christine Keeler, Donna Rice). The Clinton impeachment, when moral compasses like Henry Hyde, Newt Gingrich and Bill Bennett wanted us to relocate our outrage, was the last great rumble in the Beltway schoolyard, other than the bloodshed of an actual election, until now. Now, partisan hatred is viewed a sidearm everyone should have the right, if not the need, to carry. And on the Hill, everyone seems to be packing.

However, did Americans really believe that this day would never come? Not the day of the Next Rumble. I mean the day America went broke.

Americans are, by any reasonable measure, extraordinarily giving people. We have given trillions upon trillions of dollars of our nation’s wealth to the world’s poorer people. :lshock: And not always with strategic military or economic goals attached. 😯 Here at home, we provide government assistance to flood victims. Americans beset by fire damage, tornados and hurricanes. You can smoke all of your life and walk into a government-funded hospital and ask your fellow Americans to save your life. You can make the poorest nutritional choices known to mankind and get diabetes medication paid for by the government. You can go hiking in some crazy-ass, remote part of some national park and certain, caring fellow Americans will attempt to find you. People pay a lot of money in taxes here in America, but still find ways to give billions privately every year to help fight disease, care for the elderly, teach painting and dance, conserve precious open spaces, give scholarships on behalf of their alma mater, or send Girl Scout cookies to the troops.

Americans are caring. And what those who are opposed to raising the debt ceiling are essentially attempting to do is insist that we stop caring. That we stop doing one of the primary things that make this country what it is. That makes us who we are.

This bill was coming and you knew it. And if you didn’t see it coming, then you should be very worried. Because you have a real problem. The war, brave men and women in the armed services aside, has been a disgraceful waste of this country’s time, spirit, blood and money. They used to call it “Guns and Butter.” Today, it’s drones and frappuccinos. And guess what? Both of those choices on opposite ends of that axis cost a hell of a lot more money than they used to.

Asshole.

Anyways, pretty clear the word has gone out for all entertainment hands to get on. (urgently, Moreso than the obligatory, fake, involved – with – a – “cause” /PR/ polticical hobbyist crap) Any act will do, just something to prevent mass audience exodus. This guy Ob is headed into Bush territory in the polls.

marisacat - 29 July 2011

I’ll move this forward too.. who wrote this tripe and drivel?

Alec?

BooHooHooMan - 29 July 2011

YehBaldwin on HuffPo.

But then again, he can write off the designer chest-mowing and so forth while the rest of us lush flabdomen shrubs have to figure out how to work it into a sort of respectable man-tit terrace LOL.

BooHooHooMan - 29 July 2011

Well played! 😉

BooHooHooMan - 29 July 2011
