And, down in comments:

Murloc on Oct 15, 4:20 PM said:

apparently there were black blocs infiltrated in the manifestation who turned the manifestation violent, and leftist groups and other pacific demonstrators helped the police to capture them.
So much for your anti-left propaganda.   Those round shields are so silly though, it almost looks like 300.

Gladio:   Google  ~  Wiki:

Operation Gladio (Italian: Organizzazione Gladio) is the codename for a clandestine NATOstay-behind” operation in Italy after World War II. Its purpose was to continue anti-communist actions in the event of a shift to a Communist party led government. Although Gladio specifically refers to the Italian branch of the NATO stay-behind organizations, “Operation Gladio” is used as an informal name for all stay-behind organizations, sometimes called “Super NATO”. The name Gladio is the Italian form of gladius, a type of Roman shortsword.[1]

Operating in many NATO and even some neutral countries,[2] Gladio was part of a series of national operations first coordinated by the Clandestine Committee of the Western Union (CCWU), founded in 1948. After the creation of NATO in 1949, the CCWU was integrated into the Clandestine Planning Committee (CPC), founded in 1951 and overseen by SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers, Europe), transferred to Belgium after France’s official withdrawal from NATO’s Military Committee in 1966 — which was not followed by the dissolution of the French stay-behind paramilitary movements.  […]

As the protesters proceeded uptown, most spectators briefly gawked — taking iPhone photos or videos — or ignored it altogether. Not all were supportive. Cries of “Get a job” and “Shut up” were heard as the march passed by.

“They need to stop blaming the government and the rich and take some responsibility,” said Peter Maxwell, a 22-year-old student.

G20 tells euro zone to fix debt crisis in eight days

(Reuters) – The world’s leading economies pressed Europe on Saturday to act decisively within eight days to resolve the euro zone’s sovereign debt crisis which is endangering the world economy.

In unusually direct language, finance ministers and central bankers of the Group of 20 major economies said they expected an October 23 European Union summit to “decisively address the current challenges through a comprehensive plan”.

Occupy Tucson has peaceful first day, uncertain first night

UCSON, AZ (KOLD) – Whether gathering at Armory Park or taking to the streets of downtown Tucson, participants in Occupy Tucson joined groups in other parts of the globe to yell for attention to the middle class, the working class, or everyone outside the one percent wealthiest people of the world.

“Corporate greed has taken over at the risk of our democracy,” said Shelley Long as she stood in Armory Park with a crowd of hundreds.

“They listen to the lobbyists, the people that give them money for their campaigns, they listen to the top 1 percent, and we want to represent the concerns of the 99 percent that have been ignored for far too long,” said Joe Callahan as he marched through downtown Tucson.

(etc.)

Well there’s no uncertainty; people are staying, the cops are issuing tickets but not evicting. Everybody who stays will have a court date together and it’s up to the judge if they’ll have to pay the tickets (btwn homeless folks usually sleep in this park)…we left, poor changito got a little too red and we can’t afford the $350 ticket…I can honestly say that the pigs were very nice all day and had positive things to say to us ( Officer McFriendly even offered, “screw med cards, they should legalize for over 18 😯 he was a narc squad baconator, too) I even got to expound on Glass-Stegall with a couple of them…they told us we were no prob, but they would ticket anyway!? Fuck’em. It looked like about 100 were gonna take the ticket (including a few attorneys) so whatever.

Anyhoo, great day. Many, many different kinds of people dialoging. Wow!

We even had an Uncle Ruckus Tea Bagger show up (with surreptitious film crew) walk into GA and try to start a fight. LOL. Quicker than our youths could make a fist the sistas (grannys, really) circled him up and shifted him off stage…fucking beautiful!

Ya the “usual suspects” were there and yes the control dramas are in full effect, but fuck it, they got porta-potteys there and soo many more people are there and passionate that I can ignore them…(whoopty do!)

Ganja a ied Gabcho - 15 October 2011

😳 sorry, I meant to close italics after changito…

marisacat - 15 October 2011

Sounds far better than I expected….

Ganja a ied Gabcho - 15 October 2011

that makes three of us somewhat surprised…I spent some time talking with young people wearing the various occupy uniforms (orange secuirity, green med, and of course the IT gods get wear whatever uniform the want ) talking about the “banning” talk that was on the facebook page(long story), censorship of signs (don’t want “fuck” etc), weed, and how top down hierarchies form even amongst nice people in egalitarian movements and then they begin to exclude others and movement is lost, etc….The Kids were down, and I think that a few control drama apple carts will be upset down the road 😈 Jah knows my drums rolled and will roll and roll and roll…

marisacat - 15 October 2011

I remain very hopeful for it…

BooHooHooMan - 15 October 2011

Oh that’s excellent.

And poor changito … oh that’s funny.. As you well know, if you don’t tend to poor changito’s Movement and we’re talkin by any means necessary, well then ! The poor changitos of the world – They don’t fuck around. 😉

Close Your Bank Account and Get Arrested!

NYC and Santa Cruz, CA are reporting people being arrested for trying to close accounts at BofA and Citi

marisacat - 16 October 2011

Those stories are being reported out here on the local Sunday am shows – and the Santa Cruz one earlier in the week as well…. This should send people ballistic. And on one show the St Louis incident of several attempting to close accounts and the police being called.. (SWAT? iirc)

AZ Starnet

Hundreds of Tucsonans brought the Occupy Wall Street demonstration home Saturday, but as the night wore on police were asking them to go home.

Tucson police warned Occupy Tucson protesters, about 150 of whom were settling in for the night at Armory Park, to leave by 10:30 p.m. or be ticketed. But as the deadline passed, officers were slow to start the citations.

While in phoenix the arrests aren’t findable in the city’s daily rethug rag, so I went here

(AP)

PHOENIX – Police moved into a crowd of protesters in Phoenix around midnight Saturday and arrested several people following an anti-Wall Street rally. Authorities said there also were arrests in Tucson.

Reporters and protesters saw an estimated 40 people detained at Margaret T. Hance Park just north of downtown Phoenix. The newspaper Downtown Devil also put the arrest figure at about 40

According to the Occupy Tucson face book page the batons and pepper spray were in full effect.

Thank god I don’t live in that hell hole. Free Baja Arizona!

For Want of A Nail had a good column this week about precisely where the Tea Party and the OWS crowd part company. Flugennock’s reference to Moore and MoveOn as “vampires” in relation to OWS was also good. None of this is news to me, I guess. But it’s nice to hear anyway. Especially since I’m just too plain burnt out on daily bullshit to bother posting rants myself.

marisacat - 16 October 2011

Danny Glover has been trying to hang around the Oakland OWS, he is a real vampyre too. We’ll see where it goes….

marisacat - 16 October 2011

hidear! How are you?!

ms_xeno - 16 October 2011

Still around. Just too angry at/sick of my daily RL bullshit to follow the news in Blogland much. I’m planning on posting some new art sometime before Thanksgiving, though. Actually sold a card or three earlier in the Fall. Will wonders never cease?

I probably missed Brinn. Wave to her for me if she drops by later on, okay?

hi dear… I will let her know you said….

I’m planning on posting some new art sometime before Thanksgiving, though

when you post new art (or anything) please drop by if you feel like and give a link..

How are the kitty kats? Kiss them fr me… and kiss them again… 😉 >^..^<

ms_xeno - 16 October 2011

Thanks. As for cat news:

Poor Butterscotch kept breaking out from her Frontline/Advantage meds. With the balmy weather around here the vet advises flea meds every month, so we switched both cats to an oral med/chewable pill for dogs. For cats, you give them each a quarter of the big chewable tablet once a month, instead of a whole tablet like a dog would get.

It’s working out so far. Since the vet allows us to buy one table at a time, it’s also a bit cheaper than the topical chemical stuff. =^..^=

marisacat - 16 October 2011

Baby was highly allergic (to fleas and quite a few things) and would get a terrible rash that then she clawed to torn and bloody, the one time I used a product (I was up in Sacramento with her visiting friends) that was not Frontline. To me the safest of all is (or was) a good quality flea powder, really well applied. It was a 2 person project even with light weight, fly weight, never too strong Baby… to get the powder everywhere, from rump, across stomach, along tail and up to and around the neck….

ms_xeno - 16 October 2011

I still remember helping my old roommate bathe five or six cats at home, one at a time, back in the late Eighties and early Nineties with flea shampoo and the rest. Don’t miss that at all.

The cats always blamed her, even though we were co-conspirators against the fleas. They would skulk into her bedroom and “blot” their fur on her good quilt. :p

marisacat - 16 October 2011

oh ugh flea bathing. SO Hard. Before I fully moved Baby inside – she was still “living” next door in their basement and garden… I flea bathed her 3 times (and took her to the vet for an allergy shot, finally). I came out of it a bloody mess… not just blood from her bites and I guess engorged fleas exploding in the water and medicated shampoo but her clawing me, even with clipped claws.
