Who Will Speak Up for the Poor Brainwashed Women Who Have Been Lead to Believe That Their Bodies Are… Theirs?

Consider my email inbox. Consider the letters that pour in daily. Consider how difficult it must be for someone—anyone—to write something—anything—that makes my jaw drop open. So congrats to Pastor Joshua Genig of Atlanta’s Lutheran Church of the Ascension, who nearly caused me to shatter my jaw on my laptop just now. Pastor Genig had wrote this in a post at First Things:

Who is speaking up for the mothers who, under HHS mandate, have been falsely coerced into feeling that to be a woman means to have “control” of their own bodies?

Worse they think Slob is the refuge and the answer.

The Way and The Word… basically.

I DID find threads at various newspapers more intense and maybe a bit angrier this past week… but again, holding hands with Slob won’t work.

Carbonite’s CEO says “we won’t reinstate our ads with Rush Limbaugh, even though he’s apologized”

“No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh, with his highly personal attacks on Miss Fluke, overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency. Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.”

Of course, Rush has attacked women like this repeatedly over the years …

marisacat - 4 March 2012

Rush has a system… just like Imus had a system… Rush for years has relied on how Democrats misquote him… he lies in wait and then after they get all whupset and run on for a bit about it all… he runs the tape of what he did say.

THIS time they did not misquote him.

IIRC it was an election year when Imus got nabbed, finally. In his case he got a 20 mil separation pay out. I think Rush owns hiw show… a bit different.

ms_xeno - 5 March 2012

I’ve run into a few women who claim to get that they’re being bullshitted by Hopey but of course they’ll vote for the fuckhead anyway.

Between the willful moron frat-boy sexism of so many Lefty blogs, and the moron sorority girl rah-rahing of Democrats by so many feminist automatons on Feminist blogs… Fuck. I should just throw my computer out the window now and be fucking done with it.

ms_xeno - 5 March 2012

Seriously, does Savage or any of the other Sloggy hipsters ever get around to remembering that President Changey doesn’t think women should be able to have Plan B or abortions paid for with our own damn tax dollars, either?

Or does that sort of thing just not ever arise in their reality? [rolleyes]

marisacat - 5 March 2012

OR that in an agreement with the congressional Republicanos he canceled what DC had voted on, that in their city, their tax dollars, abortions for the poor would be funded.

Oh Daddy O … what a shit you are.

With th exception of IOZ, Dennis Perrin and oh I forget his name… one other male blogger, they tend to be awful on abortion.

SUVs of Death: Commandos Want Missiles in Their Trucks

This is the counterterrorist car chase of the future.

Somewhere in East Africa or the southern Arabian peninsula, several years from now, an unassuming SUV drives off the road and rolls down its window. From the passenger seat, there’s a blast as a missile shoots into the air. It careens as far as 60 miles, in pursuit of terrorists traveling in their own SUVs, who’ll never see the light truck that launched it.

This is a future that the U.S. Special Operations Command wants as it fights the nation’s shadow wars in places like Somalia and Yemen. A new solicitation seeks what it calls a “Medium Range Precision Strike System.” Obscured within that anodyne phrase is an ambitious weapons system optimized for stealthy strikes with minimal footprints — for those times when a drone strike just isn’t the right tool for the job.

The missile system the commandos want fits into a “light, commercially available truck.” The whole thing has to be completely self-contained within the SUV, weighing no more than 900 lbs. — as much as five 180 lb. dudes, sans gear — and no longer than 200 inches. “All cables, power sources, fire control and any other required accessories” have to be packed in as well, because the missile system has to open fire from the open road. You might want to call shotgun.

That’s because the target is often on the move, as well. “The enemy vehicles could be stationary or moving commercial SUVs, pick-ups, or sedans,” reads the solicitation. And they could be way, way far away: The missiles need an “objective maximum range of not less than one hundred (100) kilometers,” or about 62 miles.

If the desired missile system actually does make it into the light trucks of elite troops, it would unite the two principal tools for prosecuting the U.S.’s “shadow wars” against terrorists: missile strikes and commando raids. Usually those strikes come either from cruise missiles or overhead drones. But the Special Operations Command missile wouldn’t be purely surface-to-surface. “It is highly desirable that the system be compatible with various fixed and rotary wing aircraft,” the solicitation reads.

Except for the airborne part, the missile in the car follows in a long special-operations tradition: biting the very styles of the insurgents, terrorists and guerrillas the commandos hunt. Terrorists have used RPGs fired from the backs of flatbed trucks as portable artillery weapons for years. In Iraq, some jury-rigged wheelbarrows to construct mobile rocket launchers.

just accidentally stumbled onto the White House Signed Legislation page, and ohhh, this is priceless, from the Belarus Democracy Reauthorization Act of 2011 (HR 515), signed January 3, 2012 (three days after Obombster signed the National defense Authorization Act (HR 1540) Monstrosity (do see: section 1021), and a little over two months before Obombster will have signed the: Savage All Major $UZ$ Protests (by The Occupy Movement, et al) Monstrosity of, HR 347 [1] (otherwise loosely known as the Grounds Keeping Act of $UZ$ Spring, 2012 )).

…. (3) The Government of Belarus has subjected thousands of pro-democratic political activists to harassment, beatings, and jailings, particularly as a result of their attempts to peacefully exercise their right to freedom of assembly and association.

(1) I love the way the text for HR 347 is written to obscure the fact that protestors can be charged for protesting in restricted areas when they have no means of determining whether those areas are restricted at that moment, and that there is no definition of what will be temporarily visiting really means (within a day? hours? …):

`(1) the term `restricted buildings or grounds’ means any posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted area–

(A) of the White House or its grounds, or the Vice President’s official residence or its grounds;

(B) of a building or grounds where the President or other [a] person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting; ….

bolding mine, and sorry for not providing all of the links, but the ‘public’s’ legislative website, http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.php , appears to deliberately make it near impossible to link directly to specific Bills, outside of CorpGov website links (although, I will say it’s a bit better than Pwogwessive, Techie World Cali’s ‘Online’ Legislative Twanspawency), and I don’t have the energy to track down the specific, http://www.govtrack.us/ , links right now.)

5. marisacat - 5 March 2012

This just makes me laugh. I am sure Slob knows you have to buy loyalty. Seems he does not want any of that commodity.

Let the vicious backstabbing begin.

BEHIND THE CURTAIN – “W.H. to Dems: Expect no money,” by John Bresnahan:

“Jim Messina and David Plouffe told Reid and Pelosi in back-to-back meetings on Capitol Hill on Thursday … that there would be no cash transfers to the DCCC and DSCC from OFA or the DNC … before Election Day … Obama has offered to do one money event each for the DCCC and DSCC. … Obama will … send out an email and fundraising letter solicitations for both committees.

Nor … have Obama or Biden committed to do events for individual Democratic lawmakers. … And no fundraisers have been scheduled yet … with Cabinet officials … Obama could still raise $700 million to $800 million, Democrats predict … ‘Our top priority and focus is to secure the electoral votes necessary to reelect the president,’ Messina said in a statement to POLITICO. ‘There’s no doubt that Democratic campaigns face a challenging new political landscape with special interests giving unlimited amounts to super PACs.” http://bit.ly/y2WQvb

The network on its website says that Limbaugh’s show is popular. ….

Of course it is, so is the currrent, seemingly Historic, Record of: Waiving Sociopaths with Criminal Records for Recruitment;: PTSD; Fragging; Murder; Rape; and Domestic Violence; going on in the miilitary…..

Of course if it was a rabid Muslim airing that sort of venal misogyny, I’m sure the Pentagon would be using it as the perfect excuse to drone the the fuck out of the network airing it (and all the wimmins and kiddles within a 100 mile radius). Mustn’t disturb the Officer’s Club Rape and Psychological Violence Culture at the Pentagon though.

Science controversies past and present

Science—especially the science behind climate change—is under fire. The climate issue has sparked a vigorous, and at times surreal, public debate that seems to pit experts against one another on even the most basic facts, such as whether human greenhouse gas emissions dominate natural ones, whether added carbon dioxide alters the planetary emission of thermal radiation to space, and whether global temperatures are rising.1 At its heart, global warming is a physics problem, albeit a messy one that cannot proceed far without bringing in meteorology, oceanography, and geology. (See the article by Raymond Pierrehumbert in PHYSICS TODAY, January 2011, page 33 .) The climate debate has spread far beyond the confines of any of those scientific circles and into the media and public sphere, where politicization and vitriol are legion.

Although nearly all experts accept that the greenhouse gases emitted by humans have caused significant warming to the planet and will likely cause much more, only about half the US public agrees, even after years of heavy media coverage. How did we get into such a mess? What are the implications for science, for how it should be communicated, and for how debates should be interpreted? Some insights may be gained by noting that global warming is not the first “inconvenient truth” in physics. Consider this description of another, bygone debate:

The decision [whether to accept the new theory] was not exclusively, or even primarily, a matter for astronomers, and as the debate spread from astronomical circles it became tumultuous in the extreme. To most of those who were not concerned with the detailed study of celestial motions, Copernicus’s innovation seemed absurd and impious. Even when understood, the vaunted harmonies seemed no evidence at all. The resulting clamor was widespread, vocal, and bitter.2

Thus does science historian Thomas Kuhn describe the difficulties experienced by astronomers in convincing the public of the heliocentric theory of the solar system, which ultimately ushered in the scientific revolution. The “clamor” prevailed around the time of Galileo Galilei, more than a half century after Nicolaus Copernicus, on his deathbed, published the heliocentric model in 1543. Copernicus’s calculations surpassed all others in their ability to describe the observed courses of the planets, and they were based on a far simpler conception. Yet most people would not accept heliocentricity until two centuries after his death.

The agitations of modern greenhouse proponents appear to have provoked an antiscience backlash similar to the one against Galileo. In the space of only two years, almost as fast as Bellarmine changed his position on Copernicanism, leading moderates have been squeezed out of the main conservative political parties in both the US and Australia and replaced by hard-line rejecters of climate science. In Australia, climate policy was the leading issue behind the backlash; in the US it was one of many contributing factors. Because the Catholic Church of Galileo’s day had generally been a supporter of science and open inquiry, the condemnation of Copernicanism as it grew scientifically solid shocked many devout Catholics.2 Likewise, modern conservative political parties have until recently been friends of science, including climate and environmental studies. In the 1970s Republicans and Democrats in Congress were equally concerned about climate change, and as recently as 2004 leading Republicans were—at least in public—enthusiastic in their support of science. Their recent rejections of climate science have probably shocked many supporters. In both cases the backlash seems to have come when leaders were pushed to act on the basis of new evidence.

The ugly nature of the current climate debate, with its increasingly frequent characterization of scientists as opportunists, totalitarians, or downright criminals, is also, unfortunately, not new. Copernicus (posthumously) and his prominent followers through Isaac Newton were all accused of being heretics or atheists. Einstein was derided by his political opponents through the 1920s and 1930s as a Communist—despite his dim view of the Soviet Union—or simply as a fraud. When a group of American women tried to prevent him from entering the US because of his supposed Communism, he quipped, “Never before have I experienced from the fair sex such energetic rejection of all advances, or if I have, then certainly never from so many at once.”9 At one point Einstein stopped giving public lectures out of fear for his personal safety, also now a worry for some greenhouse warming proponents.

marisacat - 5 March 2012

only about half the US public agrees, even after years of heavy media coverage

Yes, there is a problem that the USA!!! USA!!! Right propagandises and campaigns against climate issues, warming issues, etc. Loons contra mundi basically.

BUT the Democrats handled the entire issue for years as nothing more than a blockbuster movie premiere with expensive PR. That then goes back to the studio to be re edited and re launched. And they scrape up side issues, badly presented that assist in the kill (here is one, We Must Help Poor Nations!, a guaranteed DOA headline)

IMO They killed it, its viability as a national issue, as much as the goddamned fucking Right.

Gore touts climate change business hopes

Published: Oct. 28, 2009 at 4:17 PM

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Oct. 28 (UPI) — Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore told a Dubai conference the climate crisis is “the single biggest business opportunity” in history.

Gore, speaking before Middle East experts at the four-day Leaders in Dubai conference, said the United Arab Emirates could be a leader in the production of alternative energy because its sunny desert climate lends itself to solar energy production.

“Solving the climate crisis is the single biggest business opportunity in the history of the world,” Gore said.

Pretty heady, .. lucrative stuff, … being a $Green Prophet$, … jetting from one of your multitude of Carbon Sasquatch Footprinted Estates, … to pontificate on The Colour Green (after not contesting one of the ugliest nastiest “president”s criminal elevation to planetary prominence and destruction (not to mention the preceeding crimes likely committed in terms of surveilling and violations of the citizenry):

Opening the conference, “Renewable Energy and Beyond,” hosted at Tel Aviv University, keynote speaker Al Gore discussed the soaring price of oil and the continuing threat of greenhouse gases, warming the planet to what Gore said could be the “point of no return.” Gore came to Tel Aviv University in May to accept a $1 million Dan David Prize for his work on “social responsibility with particular emphasis on the environment.”

Some boondoggle of a “Green” skyscraper building project here was just finally scrapped. Thank Dog. There’s already a ton of abandoned real estate downtown anyway, and the Yuppies in charge are just dying to stick it to us with more reductions in transit service and the like.

Who knows how many of us they could have bought solar panels and such for with all the money they were just salivating to spend on the ugly-as-fuck, utterly unnecessary piece of shit that they now thankfully won’t be building.

The cream of the jest, is a retired dickhead Right-wing columnist who spent a sizable portion of his newspaper career sneering at environmentalism and climate change was lobbying like mad for the “Green” skyscraper building. Anything for a buck. Love you, Portland.

Obama shifts location of G-8 summit from hometown of Chicago to his Camp David retreat

By Associated Press, WASHINGTON — The White House abruptly announced Monday that it had scuttled plans to hold the upcoming G-8 economic summit in Chicago, and would instead host world leaders at the presidential retreat at Camp David in Maryland.

It was an unusually late location change for a large and highly scripted international summit and came with little explanation from the White House. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel — the former White House chief of staff who personally lobbied President Barack Obama to hold the summit in Chicago — was informed only hours before the official announcement. . . . .

There is no reason, he like all of them, and all of them HERE, is part of it.

diane - 5 March 2012

He probably won’t resign, but given the fact that his replacement, would likely be far more vigorous, I don’t think it would hurt more for him to stay alive to witness the fallout of his and other’s actions, as things are so stretched out now, there can’t be anything but ultimate fallout on the “1.%” fairly soon. Who want’s to fry a fish, … to eat, … with ghastly looking parasites in its mouth ..in place of a fish tongue?

Unless you buy that he is some peacenik. Which he is not. None fo them are.

diane - 5 March 2012

I didn’t say he would resign, I just intended to imply that if he was actually a decent human being, he might have resigned, explaining why, and that I’d like to see him live to see the damage he’s wrought (at the end of his reign), versus someone with more vigor, replacing him, as it doesn’t appear that if he died, someone preferable would replace him.

Kasich turns down federal disaster aid

Ohio Gov. John Kasich said thanks but no thanks to immediate federal disaster relief Saturday, even as governors in Indiana and Kentucky welcomed the help.

Kasich did not rule out asking for assistance later, but his decision means tornado-ravaged towns in Ohio will not get federal aid now and are not eligible at this time for potentially millions of dollars in payments and loans.

The governor said Ohio can respond to the crisis without federal help and he would not ask federal authorities to declare the region a disaster area.

“I believe that we can handle this,” Kasich said while visiting a shelter for storm victims at New Richmond High School. “We’ll have down here all the assets of the state.”

Lawmakers secretly work on bipartisan deficit grand bargain

A small, bipartisan group of lawmakers in both the House and Senate are secretly drafting deficit grand bargain legislation that cuts entitlements and raises new revenue.

Sources said that the task of actually writing the bills is well underway, but core participants in the regular meetings do not yet know when the bills can be unveiled.

The core House group of roughly 10 negotiators is derived from a larger Gang of 100 lawmakers led by Reps. Mike Simpson (R-Idaho) and Health Shuler (D-N.C.), who urged the debt supercommittee to strike a grand bargain last year.
That larger group includes GOP centrists like Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio), who has said Republicans should abandon their no-new-tax-revenue pledge, as well as Tea Party-backed members like Rep. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.).

The key test in the coming months will be to see whether the core group can get buy-in from many of the 100 members who vaguely support “going big” on the deficit once real cuts and tax increases are identified.

The talks are so sensitive that some members involved do not yet want to be identified.

Shuler, who is retiring this year, is keen to establish a legacy as a deficit cutter before leaving Congress and he is involved in the drafting effort.

His efforts have the strong support of House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), who is actively meeting with individual Democrats to try to get them on board with finding a compromise that stabilizes the national debt.

flip sides of the same cow patty.

BooHooHooMan - 6 March 2012

Wellllllllllllllllllllllllll, not all Mom and Pops!

The Banksters. A Hothouse in Manhattan,
Protected by NYPD. Minors peddled for flesh, too.

An online IPO in the works with a Morgan Stanley Sugar Daddy.
AND…..SHE”S from …..SCOTLAND! 😆
Oh it’s ALL in here, a Mom and Pop deal all around.

The tease begins this morn via America’s true paper of record , the NY Post. Discussion will follow below. Where else?!

Hot mama is kink link to rich: DA

Anna Gristina, 44, an Ugg-wearing animal lover, 😯 operated her high-priced prostitution ring out of an East 78th Street apartment, and boasted “business contacts worldwide,” Manhattan Assistant DA Charles Linehan told a judge at the alleged madam’s arraignment hearing.

Her “black book” included powerful politicians, top-law enforcement, influential lawyers, bankers, entertainment execs and Fortune 500 businessmen, as well as several ultra-wealthy European clients, sources said.

The petite, blond Gristina was caught on wiretaps claiming “to have made millions over the 15 or so years she has been in business as a madam,” Linehan said, according to newly released transcripts of the Feb. 23 hearing.

Oh this is bad. Hell not the wiretaps!
Not the NYPD making the bust!
Not the obvious case containment operations around that!
This! ~~

At least once 😯 , the married mom, who lives with her family in upstate Monroe, arranged a sexual encounter for a client in which “minors were involved,” Linehan said.

🙄 {Missionary even!} 😆

He cited information from at least one eyewitness account — a confidential informant who was one of Gristina’s own hookers.

Known in the industry as “Anna Scotland,’’ 😯 😆 the Scottish native was nailed as part of a five-year investigation by the DA’s Official Corruption Unit, which probes NYPD and other uniformed officers for possible misconduct.

At one point, Gristina was caught on tape saying her law-enforcement pals were “poised to help her out, to let her know if there is trouble on the front that she needs to be concerned about, particularly back during the Eliot Spitzer investigation,” Linehan said, referring to the former governor’s hooker scandal.

Poor Elliot , still being dragged out buck as misdirection.

An arrest warrant was issued for Gristina last month.

When cops arrived at her upstate home,, where she rescues wild pigs and raises pit bulls, they didn’t find anyone — but a wild boar chased a police officer around, the sources said.

Jeezis, no need to drag Strauss Kahn into this.
ANYWAYS. My motto: For Butt-lets, Always start with the NY Post, but lets,, excuse me, poke around a bit more.

Morgan Stanley has not commented on the case.

Prosecutors have 50 or more hours of video and audio recordings in the case, which they investigated by cultivating informants and conducting undercover operations, Mr Linehan said during an arraignment last month.

Minors were involved in some of the encounters Ms Gristina arranged, the prosecutor said.

Neighbors say the second-floor apartment saw a steady stream of women, usually of Eastern European descent, and men in business suits arriving and leaving in black livery cars.

The building is owned by a close confidant of Gristina’s, a lawyer who “invests her money, helped her set up her business and helps to launder her money,” prosecutors said.

Her legal pal has even provided a retirement plan with her ill-gotten gains — and, in case she was ever caught, a nest egg to fall back on after doing her time.

The prosecutor added that Gristina hasn’t reported income to the government in a number of years, and that New York State authorities will also be charging her with tax evasion.

“It’s a very strong case against her if it were to go to trial,” said Linehan.
Authorities were so worried Gristina would slip away from them that they devised an elaborate sting operation to collar her, prosecutors said.

They lay in wait until she left her Monroe home and traveled to the office of her Morgan Stanley pal to discuss setting up a website for matching hookers and johns. They busted her there.

Law enforcement officials from the Manhattan DA’s office also raided her Monroe home, where the animal lover keeps a pen of pet pigs. One of her hogs chased at least one investigator as he went to serve the warrant, according to a source.

Kristin Davis, who claimed to have run a Manhattan call-girl service used by disgraced former Gov. Spitzer, said she shared a booker, Winnie Wong, with Gristina.

Fuck Winnin’ the Future.
We Winnie Wong now.

Davis said she once spoke to Gristina, who told her that a highly placed official alerted her to a 2005 investigation.

Investigators armed with an arrest warrant also showed up at Gristina’s New Rochelle, Westchester County, apartment in 2004, according to a neighbor. The neighbor said he did not know why cops were after her.

Davis said that move by authorities tipped off Gristina and prompted her to shut down her agency, Fleur d’ Elite, and lay low for a while.

The escort service offered johns a three-tiered pricing system for its girls. Costs ranged from $1,000 for the “Dream Model” girls, to $1,500 for “Calendar Girls, fashion models and budding actors,” to $2,000 and up for the “Ultimate Elite Model” category.

Her ex-husband, Dario Gristina, who is running for state Assembly from Putnam County, said that he was shocked by the news. “We divorced a long time ago. I was surprised,” he said.

Yeh, and John Gotti was a plumbing parts salesman.

Dario Gristina is the CEO of an energy and utilities monitoring and management firm, as well as the Director of a specialized New York City building services and maintenance business. Gristina has founded several successful businesses, including an internet venture in the late 90s. He is also an inventor, and has been awarded two US patents in the field of energy monitoring and management, with several more US patents pending.

ALL THAT said, none of it gets to the core, how these “elite” booty operations are financed, marketed, and protected;; why they are run — the gold-digging ,corporate and political datamining, the co-option and control well beyond trivial pursuits….

Of course if we legalized sex work, ran off the church, (NOT joking) or, hell, (Goo-goo Half Joking now) even allowed tax credits or write-offs for it, like with some energy efficiency rating, or maybe offered it via prescription, (See Your “Doctor” ! AND Nurse Winni Wong!) well maybe then we could get some top (or bottom…whatever!) accountants to properly evaluate it on a cost basis.

Dario Gristina is the CEO of an energy and utilities monitoring and management firm,

So… he watches lightbulbs ? And he turns them off… and ON, too?

(oh snicker!)

And this:

Director of a specialized New York City building services and maintenance business

Those businesses are always mob free!! 😆

The whole thing si hilarious…. esp that she had so much help here and there, and yet! Did not pay taxes. Inefficient and less than good services were provided to her, on that “money laundering”.

Of course if we legalized sex work

I read a few months ago of a German town, I forget which one, that decided to allow streetwalkers to use a system of paying into a a sort of street meter – not unlike what is used for parking cars!, in effect pay a very short term rental on whatever area they stake out for offering their services… But of course ooops! such flexibility, and straightforward address to what is an absolute constant in life, is of course in a German state that permits and licenses sex workers…

Definitely so the Whitney piece. ….TS noted here a while back how it’s all circular flow..

The whole thing is so rigged, all to fraudulently inflate balance sheets, avoid margin calls, milk trading fees, fraudulently inflate institutional “assets under management”, the basis for the percentage of fraudulent investment advisory fees….the political fix put in there too at state and municipal pension funds..

The System is rotted to the core. And what the monetarism doesn’t steal the War profiteering, the fiscal theiving and contract fraud does… Throw in executive compensation and tax fraud to boot. Just rotten to the core. They really do look at the massas as asses. And until people revolt, I mean just knocking these motherfuckers off, they’re right,

Speaking of the wimmens…

A new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found President Barack Obama has gained overall support — with marked gains among key groups of female voters.

Obama has gained support among white and suburban women. In both groups, the president is up to a 45 percent approval rating from 40 percent in December. Overall among women, approval for the president rose to 54 percent versus 40 percent disapproval. In December, both his overall approval and disapproval among women were 47 percent.

The poll also found overall support for the president’s contraception coverage mandate, with 53 percent of those surveyed approving of the federal requirement that employers cover birth control as part of a package for preventive services for women. One third opposed it.

Support split — 43 pro and 43 against — when respondents were told specifically that the coverage includes the “morning after pill.” And it dropped to 38 percent when respondents were asked about how they felt about the same requirement for religious employers, even if insurance companies picked up the costs. . . . . . .
