One thing is certain, the Occupations, in particular Zuccotti Park/Wall St but others too, are being covered the world over…

NHK, the Japanese public TV, just ran video of Stiglitz going down to the encampment…

AND, the OWS crowd might want to refuse, or respectfully decline! the support of the UAW.  They, the UAW, just agreed to the Korea Trade mess.

Gah.

From Michael J Smith at SMBIVA:

PS — Serendipity department: Literally a second after I posted this, the following plopped into my inbox:

New York City Police Foundation — New York

JPMorgan Chase recently donated an unprecedented $4.6 million to the New York City Police Foundation. The gift was the largest in the history of the foundation and will enable the New York City Police Department to strengthen security in the Big Apple. The money will pay for 1,000 new patrol car laptops, as well as security monitoring software in the NYPD’s main data center.

New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly sent CEO and Chairman Jamie Dimon a note expressing “profound gratitude” for the company’s donation.

These officers put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe,” Dimon said. “We’re incredibly proud to help them build this program and let them know how much we value their hard work.”

Accent on the “us”, hey Jamie? . . . . .

oh my htoughts exactly…. from Drunk Pundit at a SMBIVA posting

[M]y son has been in the street right here in River Town Oregon, Portland Or, USA. Got penned in by the cops and witnessed some of what you like to call “nightstick work” on those standing with him.

If you are so old and fucked up that you can’t dig the anger that drives young men and women into the streets then just give it up already. I don’t even know what to say…

I do believe I have found, perhaps,
THE quintessential tour de force of Israeli Whack-jobedness.

Laughed all the way through…

Over our dead bodies
By BEN CASPIT
10/03/2011 08:34

Israelis are wondering what went through your mind, Mr. Biden, when you said Jonathan Pollard would be given clemency over your “dead body.”

Honorable Vice President of the United States of America, Mr. Joseph Biden:

Shalom and a happy Jewish New Year!
Up until several days ago, you, Mr. Biden, were considered “Israel’s closest and truest friend in the White House.” As such, we here in Israel are wondering what exactly was going through your mind when you declared that Jonathan Pollard would be given clemency over your “dead body.” It’s important to us, here in Israel, to understand. To all of us: to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s supporters and detractors, to the far right and the far left, to the rich and the poor, the Ashkenazi and the Sephardic.

Anyone with eyes in their head and hearts thumping in their chests would like to know what led you to issue that unhinged statement. Are there things that you know that the rest of the world does not? What has changed since 2007, when you declared, in your own voice, that Jonathan Pollard’s bid for clemency was justified? I’ll tell you what has changed: Pollard has spent five more years in prison, in solitary confinement; his health has worsened (I recommend you use your influence to verify to what extent); his chances of starting a family have been decimated; his father died and he was barred from accompanying him on his final journey; and more and more respectable people have stepped forward and declared that the time has come for his release.

That’s what has changed.

Is it possible, Mr. Biden, that you know something that James Woolsey, former director of the CIA, and Dennis DeConcini, former chairman of the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, do not? Because the two of them are both in favor of releasing him.

Do you know something that Henry Kissinger,

George Shultz or John McCain does not?
All of them, esteemed American patriots, are in favor of clemency. Do you know something that the former US attorney-general Michael Mukasey does not?

Are you holding on to intelligence that Lawrence Korb, assistant defense secretary under Casper Weinberger, was not privy to?

Korb was there, in real time, but Korb, an honest and decent man, felt his conscience claw at him, and today he leads the call to free Pollard, who next month will mark his twenty sixth year in American prison.

Well, we interrupt this commercial on the HITLER Channel to note –
Hmm. Pollard in the news again.
So, – – > are there any high profile cases for prisoner release going on in the world today? Any appeals?
Someone up for parole?
O.J? Charlie Manson? The Unabomber?
Some kid in Italy?

Facilitated, I might add – by the very fine – Seemless! Authentic! – performance of Joe Biden in the classic Blowhardy American Official Fuckwit role.
Oyah – laughed all the way thru at Joe B chest pounding…

~~to match Panettta’s Bibi Ass Kissing /Groveling Tour spun as “stern warning” something or other to Israel that they are going to have to, yaknow, 🙄 “do something” 🙄

BooHooHooMan - 3 October 2011

Any bets on WHEN Obby’s strings are pulled to pardon Pollard?
Will that be Before or AFter the election?
Is he on the plane Panetta to be dropped off now? 😆 Or , gambling degenerates when the fix is in – will Obby PERSONALLY deplane with Pollard after offering to lead ceremonies in EAST Jerusalem??

marisacat - 3 October 2011

He could do what Mother Vegetable did when landing in S Africa, (they were gifted iwth blankets of the SA flag and she wrapped the two girls in them for the deplaning! My mouth dropped open)… he could wrap himself in the flag of ISrael for the deplaning with Pollard.

BooHooHooMan - 3 October 2011

HA! Mcat …this one’s for you – 😉

Biden, Pollard and the context

There’s a lot of buzz following the NYT’s report on VP Biden and spy Jonathan Pollard:

One of the rabbis asked why Jonathan Pollard, the Israeli spy convicted in 1986, was still in prison. Mr. Biden, on a mission to shore up support for President Obama, replied forcefully, according to several people at the meeting.

“President Obama was considering clemency, but I told him, ‘Over my dead body are we going to let him out before his time,’” Mr. Biden said. “If it were up to me, he would stay in jail for life.”

… fuckin PERFECT! (Clearly a good cop / bad cop routine ) sellin Barry for a few Hebrewskis, but methinks Biden , that old off-script, over-the-top blabbermouth survivor in DC, ALREADY mindless grinding TPM gears before – Whoops! – running the ole History Bus over Barry and backing it up a few times for good measure…

marisacat - 3 October 2011

One thing I laughed pretty hard over in 2008…. Biden and Hillary will dine out for ever on how they ”tried so hard” with Obby… but, you know, he just was not up to it.

😆 It’s times like these that I look back fondly and am grateful for the legacy of my Grandma and Grampa Bhhm and what they told us before they passed. “Hang on to these Blue Chips”. Unfortunately, coming from a long line of genetically insane peasants, Gramma and Granpa B were literally referring to blue chips, we think paint or some type of prized smudges on the furniture, we’re still not sure.

marisacat - 3 October 2011

Was it this morning or yesterday that Axelrod let loose with the whole ”Titanic” thingummy?

I saw a vid of him … and he either read it (how stupid ARE they?) or……….. never lifted his head. The thing reeked of gloom.

And doom.

Hard t avoid seeing they don’t want win. No way no how.

News Alert: Advisers warned White House not to let Obama visit failing solar company

October 3, 2011 4:32:28 PM
—————————————-

Newly released documents show that a Silicon Valley investor and senior administration officials warned the White House against having President Obama visit the solar company Solyndra in May 2010 because of its mounting financial problems, saying he might be embarrassed later.

Obama’s Energy Department had provided Solyndra with a $535 million government-backed loan and wanted to highlight the investment to show taxpayers how their stimulus dollars had been put to work. Top administration officials concluded that while a visit posed political risk, it was appropriate. Obama ultimately appeared at the factory and praised the company, which collapsed in late August and is now under federal investigation.

*******

We are getting a light soft rain out here… and I am so thankful for it.

We are drowning in months of dust.

wu ming - 3 October 2011

notably, that “silicon valley investor” is none other than steve westley, the centrist moneybags who tried to buy himself a governor slot a couple of years ago, and had his minions talk down the guy who beat him.

marisacat - 3 October 2011

yes i heard that today…………. may they all bite each other to death. Little Westley and all the rest. he basically kisses both parties…. and as I see it, they BOTH kiss him back. A little…

~Act Now ~and maybe during the Industry Wide Bankruptcy Sale Janet Nap/ of DHS / TSA weirdo fame wil throw in a some of those nude xray machines. Which could be great for parties or just to install , patched into a network of surveillance cams out by the front door “Welcome” mat.

Anyways.
American Airlines lost 41% of its stock value today.

You know, how long can FUCKING TSA last with it all going to hell in a handbasket..

Did you see the other day a woman who had agreed ot the skatter shot see thru filming rape-gate… then was manhandled (TSA handled) in addition, selected for secondary inspection… and was a breast cancer survivor with of course IMPLANTS.

It HAS to end. People have to stop flying.

BooHooHooMan - 3 October 2011

Well I dodged Axelrod and Panetta but I did catch that awful report of the woman accosted after telling them of her recovery. Absolutely awful.

While Napolitano is the perfect hackaloon at DHS for the assortment of Banksters and MIC Mafiosa that generally run the US Gub, I don’t know if she’s worth a bullet. , the possible security issue of ricochet off 100% numbskull and all. I’m thinkin a convent or hard farm labor or both. Good for closeted lesbian character development. Of course The Sacrements could be made available just as soon as the Luddite nuns could sell off the harvest and bail some priest out of jail. LOL.
Anyways.
Chertoff on the other hand should have been summarily shot over his role at DHS and all the graft that came with the placement of those wretched things.
But you know, fuck it, I jest with measures of Justice.
Better to shoot em both. On Hi-Def TV maybe with a new Backscaterr cam screen-within-a screen view……

7. marisacat - 3 October 2011

hmm some countries are more responsive than others…

Bonn, or! at least Bonn out of the various German cities and states, has figured out HOW to collect soem sort of cash tribute from working women (as opposed t those in licensed houses of prostitution)…. meters on the street are set up for them. If they feed the meter they can work, as much as they want, on that drag.

(I’m catching a news report, I should add)

8. BooHooHooMan - 3 October 2011

Uh oh Russian Oil Mafia Jews fighting over money again.
Could affect soccer playoffs. Oh – and airline travel.
Whatever happened to the good ole daze when all ya had to contend with is a multi-continent trail of Polonium and a rival team’s plane going down inexplicably taking insured mutlimillion dollar prospects along with it?

I guess Christie v. Obama won’t be the Titanic struggle Axlerod alluded too… 😈

marisacat - 4 October 2011

Speaking of Titanic struggle… did you happen ot hear of the IRS finding against the MJ dispensaries… and it sounds like Harborside (which I think you have mentioned as one fo the better, and their ads and promos sound that way) may be in the target sites of the IRS…. tha becasue they are not, according ot the Feds, legit businesses, the IRS is disallowing normal business deductions for employee costs and the like.

I am sure the dispensaries will fight it…….. (and I am sure there are subtleties to the legal case I did not catch in the one news report I caught)

Ganjafied Gabcho - 4 October 2011

Yeah the feds are screwing Stephen (Harborside) and the rest, good and bad, claiming the 100% of all proceeds of sales because they’re illegal according to the feds. Harborside got hit with back “taxes” all the way back to 96 and has helped a lot of the good guys set up shop.Last I heard they went as high as they could within the tax court system, lost and that’s were it stood last time I reasoned with my Idren in late august. Headin’ to Monterey on thursday so I’ll know more later…

Semper Fi: Marines Coming To Protect Protesters On Wall Street

Here’s the message Ward Reilly relayed from another Marine, on his facebook page:

“I’m heading up there tonight in my dress blues. So far, 15 of my fellow marine buddies are meeting me there, also in Uniform. I want to send the following message to Wall St and Congress:I didn’t fight for Wall St. I fought for America. Now it’s Congress’ turn.

My true hope, though, is that we Veterans can act as first line of defense between the police and the protester. If they want to get to some protesters so they can mace them, they will have to get through the Fucking Marine Corps first. Let’s see a cop mace a bunch of decorated war vets.I apologize now for typos and errors.

Typing this on iPhone whilst heading to NYC. We can organize once we’re there. That’s what we do best.If you see someone in uniform, gather together.

A formation will be held tonight at 10PM.

Gonzales Hired To Teach At Unaccredited Belmont Law School in Tennessee

While former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has been able to escape investigation and prosecution for his role in the torture program, no law firms or ranking law schools wanted to touch him as he sought gainful employment. Gonzales has been struggling to find someone who wants to be represented or taught by an individual ridiculed for politicizing the Justice Department and bringing in hacks who were accused of a variety of criminal and ethical violations. Well, he finally found one school. Belmont University has created an unaccredited law school in Tennessee. Its new Doyle Rogers Distinguished Chair of Law is no one else than Alberto Gonzales.

Presumably, the “Distinguished” refers to the chair rather than the holder.

Belmont College of Law Founding Dean Jeff Kinsler insisted that Gonzales has what it takes to be “an outstanding professor.” So long as he does not waterboard the students.

What is truly scary is is Gonzales’ pledge to help “develop tomorrow’s leaders in the bar, the Nashville community and beyond.” The idea of Gonzales shaping lawyers is enough to force one into a fetal position.

marisacat - 4 October 2011

no law firms or ranking law schools wanted to touch him as he sought gainful employment.

Speaking of Holder

After new documents suggested Attorney General Eric Holder may have contradicted himself over comments about the Fast and Furious gun program, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) called on President Barack Obama to appoint a special counsel to determine if Holder lied to Congress.

“I write to urge you to instruct the Department of Justice to appoint a special counsel to determine whether Members of Congress were misled by the Attorney General during his recent testimony before the House Judiciary Committee,” wrote Smith, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, on Tuesday.

Geesh… everyonce in a while Tom(Dispatch) Englehardt writes soemthing of value…

[I]t’s true, as many have pointed out, that they don’t have a list of well thought out demands, but the demand to have such a list is just their elders trying to bring them to heel. The fact is, they don’t have to know just what they’re doing, any more than a writer or filmmaker has to understand the book being written or the film shot. It’s not a necessity. It’s not the price of admission. If there’s one thing that’s obvious and heartening, as my friend, the novelist Beverly Gologorsky, said to me while we oldsters circumnavigated the park, “The overwhelming feeling I have is that no one here is planning to go home any time soon.”

Never have they been more needed. Theirs is certainly a movement, like the ones in the Middle East, inspired in part by economic disaster and aimed at an airless political as well as corporate/financial system controlled by the 1% left out of the signs in the park hailing the 99% of Americans whom Occupy Wall Street hopes to represent. It’s a world set on screwing just about everyone in that vast cohort of Americans without compunction, shame, or even, these days, plausible deniability.
